The sprite-art for this game is fantastic, and although I love ZUN's style, seeing something new is always cool. While Chiyari and Yuuma looking like total gremlins is iconic, I like Reimu and Nazrin's movements with their gohei or dowsing rods. I find it to be very pleasing to look at.

My first ever exposure to Touhou was when I was, like, 9. I saw the pixelated sprites and immediately assumed Touhou was a DS game because of it. I only realized I was wrong 7 years later.

Yeah, that laugh tends to play when you miss capturing a spellcard in most of the games. I don't know if it's changed any, but I'm pretty sure it's the same sound effect we've always had in the main touhou shooting games... Interesting timing though, for a link like that to be made.
The laugh first appeared in Touhou 13: Ten Desires back in 2011. Everytime you “Time Out” any spell card (wait for the time limit for each spell card runout), that sound effect will play. The laugh you heard in Ran’s part happens because the A.I opponent time out the player spell/boss attack. Undertale was not come out until 2015.

These Might be the Best Touhou Sprites yet and could be really great we see more in furture games
