This is a very rare and informative review of CPU performance between 8750h and 8850h. A google search would show nothing more useful than the cinebench comparison from March this year, in which the i9 is somehow slower than both i7. Thank you very much for the up to date review on the two CPUs. I can't wait to see more comparisons where the i9 8950hk is also included. Cheers!
Good to hear that it was useful! I just got my first i9 laptop for review, although it has different graphics to the 8850H laptop, hopefully will also be getting another i9 with the same GPU in the future though and I can do more comparisons with it!
Great CPU comparison video! I would prefer the 8750H as there isn't much of a difference in most cases. Most of the time the 8850H just came ahead by a little but anyways
Another truly excellent in-depth video. Thank you for your hard work. I think Coffee Lake-H is a bit of a mess, with power requirements on max load *doubling* that of the previous generation. I see my undervolted 8750H pull 77W, so I could see why most OEMs aren't even bothing with the 8850, let alone the i9 (except Dell who just want to cash in on CPU magpies)
Cheers! Haha yeah kind of silly to keep listing them all as 45W TDP 😛 how useless! I should be getting my first i9 in a few days so that will be interesting, although probably no gaming tests as it will have different graphics than the 8850H laptop I had, how annoying!
No current plans but that's only because I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone at Lenovo yet, I'm still trying to reach out but not sure if it's just bad luck because they're a huge company or if they don't want to work with a smaller channel like me, but I'm still trying.
thumbs up for the "cache" comment!!! for Overclocked laptops, because of the shared heatpipes and limited thermal headroom, sometimes cranking the CPU up to max will not get you the best performance. Power limit throttling can be resolved by increasing the wattage and the amperage settings in XTU. You can set them to the maximum settings and the CPU will only draw what it wants rather than being artificially limited. That leaves thermals as the only thing you need to manage. The Balanced power setting generally works better than the high performance power setting as well in a laptop environment

Yeah for gaming with good settings doesn't really matter, maybe more of a difference if you do other CPU-centric tasks though, either way though yeah quite small really.
Thanks for the great comparison, I'm very interested in both of these CPU's for my next laptop. I would prefer the i7-8850H if the price difference isn't too bad. Currently one can upgrade from the 8750H to the 8850H in the Dell Precision 7530 for $260 CDN - I'm not sure if that's worth the price. Have you had a chance to check out the Xeon E-2176M? I would love to see how it compares to the i7-8850H - their specs are very similar - and the cost difference is $180 CDN (again on the Dell Precision 7530).
Hmm that's a bit more than I'd personally pay to upgrade, doesn't really make that much difference in the way I personally use my laptop though. I haven't unfortunately, only Xeons I've ever had are my two old 2760s and x5650 😛
I don't have the knowledge/experience to properly evaluate the pricing of these things - the last time I seriously shopped for tech was in 2010. But I'm planning on using this laptop for the next several years, so I'm willing to spend a little more to get more performance and maybe better longevity. I'll take the i7-8850H if I can afford it, but honestly the i7-8750H would probably serve my needs just as well. I'm just being CPU greedy. :) As far as the Xeon E-2176M goes, I still haven't came across any good comparisons between it and the i7-8850H other than slightly better benchmarks for the Xeon. I take benchmarks with a grain of salt - we both know that benchmarks are really only good for guessing at real world performance, and I get the feeling that the i7-8850H would actually serve my needs better while being more affordable. The only compelling reason I have at this time for getting a Xeon processor is bragging rights - saying that I have a Xeon processor instead of a "lowly" i7. And having a Xeon may make reselling the laptop easier down the line. Brand recognition and all that. On a side note the laptop currently at the top of my list is the HP Zbook Studio x360. I think it'll serve all my needs beautifully. I'm looking forward to more reviews. Take care and keep up the good work.
Cheers! Yeah fair enough, generally buying the best you can afford at the time works pretty well for longevity. The Xeon E-2176M looks pretty decent in terms of clock speeds, I hope I get the chance to get one and compare it in the future, but yeah definitely a bit more uncommon.

I should be getting the i9 to compare with 8850H in a few weeks, but I won't be able to get either CPU in a macbook unless I buy the laptop myself or find someone that will lend me one, so I probably won't be able to test FCPX specifically.

Thanks! Not sure on pricing unfortunately, based on the rumours it seems that it's not long until the next gen, but not sure how long we'll need to wait before we have a few laptops to choose from with the new stuff. At this point I'd probably wait it out unless I needed a new laptop ASAP, that way even if you go with the 10 series it may be on sale by that point.
Jarrod'sTech thanks man, I will stick with your advice, but finally, Based on rumors , do you think that the next gen of graphic cards worth waiting for ?
I haven't actually been listening to what people have been saying about performance, so I don't know what to expect there, just that based on whispers I've heard it seems like they aren't too far off.
To be honest I can't remember the details, you can refer to my Aorus X5 review though, I talk about testing clock speeds under stress test and gaming in depth. Basically to improve it as much as possible you'll want to undervolt the CPU and boost the power limit.
Very detailed comparison thank you BTW can you do a review on the Alienware 17 ? I see that you only had reviewed Alienware 13 Keep up the good content I hope you get to a higher subs 😁
Thanks! Hopefully we'll get there! I've been trying to get the new Alienware 17 laptop for a while but the Australian team don't seem to have any review units still, or maybe just not any for me and they are prioritizing larger channels, I'll keep asking though 😛
That's knida sad because no other RUclipsr makes a detailed reviews and comparisons I'm on the market for a good gaming laptop for about 1.5k and yesterday I saw that dell has 31% discount on Alienware 17 but until I see your review I won't buy it TBH when I search a gaming laptop I start here (your channel) If you can advise me on a good gaming laptop that would be much appreciated Thank you for your content and I really hope your channel fly to the top
Yeah the Dell/Alienware stuff usually has some pretty decent sales, I'll see if I can follow up with them as it's been a few weeks since I've spoken to them, maybe they actually have an ETA now. That's great to hear! Personally I'm a fan of thinner and lighter so my go to choices would be ones like the MSI GS65/Aero 15x/Zephyrus M/probably razer blade, but I haven't tested it yet, it should arrive tomorrow though!
I like thin and light but I've heard horror stories about thermal throttling and since weight isn't a deal breaker for me ,Im planning to use it in college/home
Yeah once I get the i9, I think I'm getting the GT75 Titan from MSI with i9 very soon, although I'm just realising that has 1080 graphics so probably can't compare the gaming results, I could just do applications only though.
cuz since apple is taking ages to release a new laptop im still running 2011 macbook pro maxed out 15 inch and i need a new laptop, i was thinking about the xps 15 9570 with i9 and 1050ti.
Xps 15 is a sweet machine. Perfect for switching from a 15” MacBook Pro. Especially if you don’t need it for serious gaming, just content creation, because the limit with a 1050ti
To be honest most of the brands I've tested when you get into the higher end gaming laptops are all pretty good, even the mid range isn't too bad for like ASUS/MSI etc, I can't really think of one I prefer over the other in terms of just brand, I try to evaluate based on hardware/specs/performance etc, all the brands I've tested have pretty good options and depending on what you're after I would recommend quite a few (eg MSI GS65/Gigabyte Aero 15x/Aorus x5/ASUS Scar etc)
I'm considering something like the Dell G7 yet ProductReview for Dell Australia shows a massive red flag in term of customer service. Have you ever experienced this before? (if you have ever owned a Dell)
I don't have any experience with Dell customer service recently unfortunately, I dealt with them in like 2007 or something and they seemed fine, but nothing anymore recent than that I'm afraid.
I'm not sure, I thought it was just unlocked in terms of the core multipliers, doesn't matter too much as I doubt you'll be able to go above that on a laptop CPU anyway due to power/thermal limitations.
thats I think the reason why its not fully unlocked. Intel did this only for this CPU but not naming it "k", coz I believe its not unlocked in the traditional way.
Something seems not right here. How can the 8850h make such a huge difference in some games? It clocks a little higher but has overall like 3% advantage over the 8750h. But in some of your cases that results in almost 100fps more. I guess it is just a bad comparison as the systems' thermal designs differ.
Most games I test seem to be CPU bound at 1080p, at least depending on the graphics it's not uncommon for the CPU to constantly be smashing 100% all the time. There are differences, though as close as I could make it, not perfect.
I'll probably compare them in a future video, but off the top of my head I liked the ASUS one better because it was thinner which is pretty important to me. I've actually got a dedicated video on thermals and undervolting the Aorus X5, if I recall it did require it to get full performance, but it will of course depend on the workload applied: ruclips.net/video/dfbeByZ1thk/видео.html
Thanks for your response. This is really helpful. I was thinking about the Arous x7 dt v8. It looks like the best laptop considering the size and configuration, but that is bit out of budget. I will go for Asus GM501GS. :)
The better CPU will of course be better, but as shown in the CPU tests it doesn't improve things too much, depends on the specific application and how it deals with higher clock speeds.
Hey is i7-8750h under performing after very small intensive work? Almost all new laptops with this chip is struggling to give sustained turbo boost. Cinebench R15 too dips quickly like 1050 to 800 in no time . Should I go with i7-7700hq ( awesome proven consistency) over this? I don't mind 5℅ increment ( day to day) ?
Depends on the laptop, from what I've seen so far they're on some pretty thin models so thermal limits can be a problem, but in many cases undervolting can help with that significantly. Depends if you need the extra two cores I guess, 7700hq is still a good CPU I think, working on the comparison video of that vs 8750h soon 😀
the i5 8300h is a better choice than the i7 7700hq both have 4 cores 8 threads but it boost higher, But the 8750h is a nice bump in performance over the 7700hq, but undervolting and new thermal paste really helps it. If its mainly gaming your doing the 8300h or 7700hq will be fine. just picked up a acer helios 300 2018 model with the 8750h and 1060 and im loving it best bang for your buck laptop nothing else with similar specs and price have a 144z screen all have 60hz's like the dell g7 and hp omen. And the 300 has a 2 year warranty when most have 1.
I haven't had any laptops with it yet, I think I'll have one coming soon, but I won't be able to test gaming results as the i9 laptop has 1080 graphics, and I've never had any other 1080 laptops to compare with.
Some of the results are wired, especially at low settings, 4.3 ghz vs 3.9ghz shows a 50% increase in Fortnite? That’s just cannot be true... That is to say 10% increase in frequency gives 50% boost in fps, how is that possible?
Did I say I was using the replay feature? If not then that game in particular is hard to accurately compare, as it always varies based on what other players are doing in the game at the time.
Hmm probably a fair bit, I've never had that one to test with myself but I have some other comparisons with the 8550U, maybe I should compare it with the 8300H or something as they're both quad core CPUs.
Yeah exactly, probably unlikely I'll get an 8550U laptop in the near future though and I don't really want to use my old results as I didn't do undervolting when I took them, so hopefully a new laptop comes my way with that CPU!
Up to Bundaberg to help a elderly move houses. No signal where I was staying otherwise I would be up to date XD Took my laptop tho used my phone to play games on it. Just not enough data to watch vids :(
Man, please consider running my open-source benchmark: www.overclock.net/forum/21-benchmarking-software-discussion/1678401-mike-vs-mickey-plagiarism-128-threaded-benchmark.html#post27618384 I own Lenovo with i5-7200u DDR4 2133MHz, wanna see how 8th and 9th generations improve on it...
I haven't tested it, but I have my doubts, 4K is pretty intensive, even with medium-high settings I find the 1080 struggles in many games, but of course also depends on the game, might be fine in say Overwatch for example. At higher resolutions generally the graphics card will make a much larger difference compared to the CPU, CPU difference is more noticeable in lower resolutions (of course depends on game, this is just speaking generally and not specifically for CPU heavy games).
As thin as I can go while being powerful enough to get the job done. Personally I only use laptops while travelling, so I'm always going for lighter weight.
does the 8850h have the same issue as the 8750h that without a undervolt and tdp bump it will throttle hard in cinbench or other heavy gpu tasks. I got a 1300 cinbench score and can get consistent 1280 area on my 8750h but only after undervolting and bumping up the tdp as without that it cant hold its 3.9ghz
@@JarrodsTech ooof guess Wal-Mart's pc has something going I can set that power limit to 80 watts and hold 3.9ghz even in prime small fft and prime max power
@@Demon09-_- Even after a few minutes of constant load? If so that's impressive, usually they boost up for the first 28 seconds or so but then drop back down to around 45W or less if combined with GPU load in some cases depending on the BIOS.
@@JarrodsTech im just able to set throttle stop and it changes the tdp it can hold 75 watts 80 watts or what ever as long as it can cool it the op laptops have a very open bios it seems that does not hard lock the power. games never put any kinda load on it like that but it lets you get nice cinbench scores lol as it can hold 3.9ghz the whole time but it does pull 70-60 watts threw out
@@Demon09-_- Oh ok, with mine I could raise it to 55 or so, so seems like it's just one of the more uncommon machines where you can adjust it, in most laptops it seems to not be configurable due to BIOS limitation.
I should have one arriving soon in the MSI GT75 Titan, only "problem" is it has 1080 graphics and I've never tested another 1080 laptop, so I can only compare pure CPU tests only and not gaming 😰
Jarrod'sTech this and a real job must have you pretty busy lol, well i guess you might get to it when you get to it if you get one. i know you'll only be able to compare cpus directly but try to OC that i9 as much as you can, i wana see if it'll hold a high enough clock to be worth the difference
Hey just wanted to let you know that I had confirmation that the G7 should hopefully be getting sent out to me tomorrow, so video in a few weeks after testing!
I was considering the aorus x5 v8 vs the new Razer blade 15. I’m looking for a laptop that will use the most out of its CPU power. I’ll be focused on using my CPU hardly for a long period of time!
my hp omen with i7-8750h gets only 18,000 on geekbench after the same undervolt, any reasons why this would be the case? im not having any thermal throttling
Power limits can differ between laptops, different performance is pretty common, also would depend what other programs are running at the time of the test etc.
The major problems I had were pretty bad back light bleed, but that vary between laptops, other than that it was quite hot which is probably expected given the specs. I've got a full review on it here with all the things I liked and didn't: ruclips.net/video/0S2He0dYN2k/видео.html
I like the aorus x5 but it’s gosh darn expensive... all laptops are expensive 😔. Everyday i end up thinking of getting a 1060 laptop and maybe even some used flagships
You could probably get a 7700HQ / 1060 for a good price these days, not too much performance loss on the CPU, I'm working on a 7700HQ vs 8300H comparison at the moment and it's reminding me that it's still pretty decent and probably some good sales on the older models.
K stands for overclock, technically the 8850H isn't overclocked in the traditional meaning of the word, it can just be boosted a little. The 8950HK can be overclocked though.
Yeah perhaps less of a difference if I tested the 8850H in games without the overclock, unfortunately didn't have time to go through all the testing twice!
Yeah I'm looking at doing a video on single vs dual channel in a number of different games, I've got the RAM at the moment just need time to do all the testing.
Most of today's notebooks can't hold the temperature of 8750H. Under the condition that the temperature has not been solved, the CPU of the 8850H will only make the temperature higher and the performance will be reduced. The performance of the 8850H will only be greatly reduced...
Yeah I agree. Interestingly I just found out the new Apple macbooks will have these CPUs and even up to i9... Will be interesting to see how bad the throttling is there!
Apple Inc., like God, this should be a small problem for them. HAHAHA~ Do you remember the MSI GE63 Raider RGB 8RF I bought? There are two problems at present. External HDMI will cause delay, and there will be no audio when connected to the headset. Do you know if all notebooks of the 8th generation CPU have this problem?
The reply from the MSI official is confirmed.. But NVIDIA, I did not go to verify, after all, he belongs to a foreign company, I did not go to the pipeline to verify in detail
@@JarrodsTech thanks i love using computer for absurb stuff. like game emulator, video editor. cut mp3. also gaming rig. so i prefer high end cpu + mid range gpu. anyway already subscribe
I cannot say I have never tested that game. My guess is probably, these laptop CPUs can play anything, in most cases it depends more on the GPU it's paired with.
Yeah there is 😎 I only take that laptop with me when I'm travelling though, at work day to day I use a 6700HQ/970M laptop which isn't mine (the first laptop I reviewed on the channel), still working well 3.5 years later!
Whoa! The words u use with dominant "O" sounds in it, sound horrible when u throw "R's" in them... Couldn't continue listening for more than 4 mins!... Nerve-wracking!
the cooling of the laptop matters the most. Everything else is horseshit. If the 8750h could maintain his turbo clocks, it would be the same as 8850h...I bet with undervolting and stuff, both are close.
I was going to sleep but this is more important
Haha sure is, maybe 😛
Same here! I do like the Aussie tech tubers!

If you can advise me on a good gaming laptop that would be much appreciated
Thank you for your content and I really hope your channel fly to the top
You got me excited for the razer blade 15 .. waiting for the review and benchmarks 😁
Thanks for your efforts
great video bro, are you going to do the i9 vs 8850h?
Yeah once I get the i9, I think I'm getting the GT75 Titan from MSI with i9 very soon, although I'm just realising that has 1080 graphics so probably can't compare the gaming results, I could just do applications only though.
cuz since apple is taking ages to release a new laptop im still running 2011 macbook pro maxed out 15 inch and i need a new laptop, i was thinking about the xps 15 9570 with i9 and 1050ti.
Yeah I hear that, I use a 2012 13" macbook pro 😛
Xps 15 is a sweet machine. Perfect for switching from a 15” MacBook Pro. Especially if you don’t need it for serious gaming, just content creation, because the limit with a 1050ti
Apple just released new MacBook Pros with these CPU's. :)
Jarrod, please reply, I am researching on which laptop brand to buy. Which gaming laptop brand would you recommend in term of build quality?
Thank you for the comparison Jarrod
No problem!
Hahaha, the "cash" vs "cayche" argument was going on in CSGO IEM Sydney event as well, it was awesome!
Haha missed that one, I think "cayche" is only Australian? Haven't really heard anyone else use it 😂
8850h vs 9750h?
Haven't had an 8850H in a LONG time to fairly compare, but difference between 8750H and 9750H is minimal
Aussie Power! Best review ever
Cheers!
I have an assignment about i7-8750h vs i7-8850h should I write all that u talked about in the video ..please answer
As far as I know 8850h is only partially unlocked. So, you can overclock up to 400mhz and no more. You could give an information about it too though.
There are differences, though as close as I could make it, not perfect.
which laptop do you think is better asus GM501GS or Arous x5? Do you think Arous x5 would be able to cool down the OC 8850H without undervolting?
Hey just wanted to give you an update and let you know the X7 is here, so I'll definitely have a few videos coming up with it!
Which one is better for Renderings? I will not play any games. 1) i7-8850H, GTX 1070, 16GB 2) i7-8750H, GTX 1080, 16GB
The better CPU will of course be better, but as shown in the CPU tests it doesn't improve things too much, depends on the specific application and how it deals with higher clock speeds.
Would be nice to see more Ryzen based laptops :)
It would, I'm hoping that happens soon, there were a few announced recently at Computex.
rumors of a 2700E
Jarrod'sTech How will day to day usage vary between 7700hq and 8750h? Average coder here.
I think it would be hard notice I think, unless you're doing things that would use the extra two cores.
the i5 8300h is a better choice than the i7 7700hq both have 4 cores 8 threads but it boost higher, But the 8750h is a nice bump in performance over the 7700hq, but undervolting and new thermal paste really helps it.
Can you do a review on the Rog Scar II and Hero II? They look worthwhile buying from Asus
I've been trying to arrange to get both of them at the same time from ASUS, still waiting for them to be available but should be possible.
Lars lol, Hardware Unboxed just released review of Scar 2
Probably explains why I haven't been able to get them 😛
Have you checked on amazon's list? Looks like they'll be available soon
Oh I mean the ASUS Australia team having review units for me to borrow 😁 they only have a limited amount to share around.
For Business the 8750H should be enough concerning the next 4-5 years?
I'd say so, I'm 3.5 years into a 6700HQ at work and it's still going just fine for me, depends what you do though of course.
Hey Jarrod can you do a comparison between a laptop with a gtx 1060 (3GB VRAM) vs laptop gtx 1060 (6gb vram)
I'd like to but so far I've not yet had any 3gb laptops in for review so I haven't been able to do the testing
Jarrod'sTech I know that the asus fx502 has a 1060 3gb vram it's $800
What was the GPU used?
Nvidia 1070 in both laptops, as mentioned.
Next time can you also compare the i9 8950HK
I haven't had any laptops with it yet, I think I'll have one coming soon, but I won't be able to test gaming results as the i9 laptop has 1080 graphics, and I've never had any other 1080 laptops to compare with.
Jarrod'sTech You could under clock the GTX 1080 by a bit until you get GTX 1070 preformance
If not then that game in particular is hard to accurately compare, as it always varies based on what other players are doing in the game at the time.
would like to know How much difference is it with - Core i7-8650U
or should i say how much weaker is it 😔
Hmm probably a fair bit, I've never had that one to test with myself but I have some other comparisons with the 8550U, maybe I should compare it with the 8300H or something as they're both quad core CPUs.
Yeah exactly, probably unlikely I'll get an 8550U laptop in the near future though and I don't really want to use my old results as I didn't do undervolting when I took them, so hopefully a new laptop comes my way with that CPU!
What makes it differ so much, if the gpu's are at similar clock speed, usage and power consumption?
plus same memory and same hard drive?
I can only assume the clock speed difference between the CPUs / higher power limit of the 8850H.
I'm back Jarrod!!! Missed your videos! Time time to allocate 1 day to you XD Also another awesome review!
Haha thanks, where'd you go to?
Up to Bundaberg to help a elderly move houses. No signal where I was staying otherwise I would be up to date XD Took my laptop tho used my phone to play games on it. Just not enough data to watch vids :(
Also did a trip with the boys to do mtb riding. +rep to the boi's
Cool sounds alright!
Could you please review the Intel core i9?
Yeah I should be getting the MSI GT75 Titan with i9 next week 😃
Man, please consider running my open-source benchmark:
www.overclock.net/forum/21-benchmarking-software-discussion/1678401-mike-vs-mickey-plagiarism-128-threaded-benchmark.html#post27618384
I own Lenovo with i5-7200u DDR4 2133MHz, wanna see how 8th and 9th generations improve on it...
So can gtx 1060 will do decent low setting or medium setting 4k gaming with 8850H ?
I haven't tested it, but I have my doubts, 4K is pretty intensive, even with medium-high settings I find the 1080 struggles in many games, but of course also depends on the game, might be fine in say Overwatch for example. At higher resolutions generally the graphics card will make a much larger difference compared to the CPU, CPU difference is more noticeable in lower resolutions (of course depends on game, this is just speaking generally and not specifically for CPU heavy games).
Which one would you rather have:
Thicker and more powerful;
Or thinner but less powerful?
As thin as I can go while being powerful enough to get the job done. Personally I only use laptops while travelling, so I'm always going for lighter weight.
does the 8850h have the same issue as the 8750h that without a undervolt and tdp bump it will throttle hard in cinbench or other heavy gpu tasks. I got a 1300 cinbench score and can get consistent 1280 area on my 8750h but only after undervolting and bumping up the tdp as without that it cant hold its 3.9ghz
Depends on the laptop, but yes in most of the ones I've tested it will still power limit throttle under full multicore load.
Thanks for helping me with the msi motherboard
No problem!
It would be great if you could test 8gb vs 16gb ram on laptop.
Here you go! ruclips.net/video/W1xlHZ9OGPk/видео.html
I'm looking at doing a newer video soon comparing single vs dual channel.
you need a little extra time with the i9 so you can really test it for long term. i don't see how any laptop can handle that thermal and power output.
I should have one arriving soon in the MSI GT75 Titan, only "problem" is it has 1080 graphics and I've never tested another 1080 laptop, so I can only compare pure CPU tests only and not gaming 😰
Jarrod'sTech no dell? i remember the g7 having an i9 option
Yeah it does, they still don't have the G7 available for me, I've got the Dell XPS 2-in-1 while I wait for it.
I like your contents very much. Great job.
Thanks!
I was considering the aorus x5 v8 vs the new Razer blade 15. I’m looking for a laptop that will use the most out of its CPU power.
I’ll be focused on using my CPU hardly for a long period of time!
According to my tracking I should be getting the Razer Blade today! Can't wait to test it out 😁
my hp omen with i7-8750h gets only 18,000 on geekbench after the same undervolt, any reasons why this would be the case? im not having any thermal throttling
Power limits can differ between laptops, different performance is pretty common, also would depend what other programs are running at the time of the test etc.
@@JarrodsTech cheers for the quick reply
No problem!
I wish the nuc came with either one of these
I have the last gen connected to a egpu dock
Not interested in getting a full atx or even a itx desktop
Hmm would be interesting to compare how the NUC goes against this, I do have all the data from recent testing 😁
That would be awesome
Go for it
Fritz Chess Benchmark please.
I'll consider it for future comparisons!
Hey jarrod, any isuues with the aorus x5 v8?
The major problems I had were pretty bad back light bleed, but that vary between laptops, other than that it was quite hot which is probably expected given the specs. I've got a full review on it here with all the things I liked and didn't: ruclips.net/video/0S2He0dYN2k/видео.html
Jarrod'sTech okay thanks for the reply
No problem!
Jarrod'sTech yeah. I’ve found many models that are nice . Razer Blade pro 1060 for 1400, aero 15 1400 amd there’s the gu501m for 1300
I thought that because the H stands for overclock that it could be? Am I wrong cuz if so.... Then Linus is as well.
K stands for overclock, technically the 8850H isn't overclocked in the traditional meaning of the word, it can just be boosted a little. The 8950HK can be overclocked though.
@@JarrodsTech oh ok thanks for the info about it.
No problem!
I don't know why intel did 2.2 on 8750h they should of done 3ghz on base and 4 on over .
Not sure, I guess so some laptops can still use it with bad cooling?
Surprised how a couple MHz could yield a big difference in frames for some games (not that it really matters)
Yeah perhaps less of a difference if I tested the 8850H in games without the overclock, unfortunately didn't have time to go through all the testing twice!
Please review the new lenovo legion y530!
I still haven't been able to get any Lenovo contacts unfortunately, I really want to though!
Also dual channel makes a difference
HAHAHA~
Do you remember the MSI GE63 Raider RGB 8RF I bought? There are two problems at present. External HDMI will cause delay, and there will be no audio when connected to the headset. Do you know if all notebooks of the 8th generation CPU have this problem?
Taiwan MSI company pushed the issue to NVIDIA, but after a few months, this problem has not been solved...
That's the first I've heard of that problem myself, so MSI were able to confirm that there was an issue? Have Nvidia acknowledged it?
The reply from the MSI official is confirmed..
But NVIDIA, I did not go to verify, after all, he belongs to a foreign company, I did not go to the pipeline to verify in detail
The major difference between the 2 cpu's are pci express lane support
The Intel spec page shows them both as having 16 from what I can tell?
U should know Zephyrus m has a bad GPU curve and it overheats like crazy throttles with 2 minutes
I didn't notice an issue but I also run my tests with all fans maxed out.
what laptop with 8850h + rt 2060. i need tsx on 8850h
I haven't seen any just yet, 9th gen CPUs will be announced in about a week so maybe they'll skip that combination.
@@JarrodsTech thanks i love using computer for absurb stuff. like game emulator, video editor. cut mp3. also gaming rig. so i prefer high end cpu + mid range gpu. anyway already subscribe
Fair enough! Hopefully I can get more high end CPU laptops with RTX soon 😁
what is 1% low?
It's a way of measuring the dips in performance, this video explains it: ruclips.net/video/l6WgbfG_z-k/видео.html
Sir I by Hp pavilion gaming laptop 15-cx000ne. 3 cell Battery life low about plz one video
I don't currently have any contacts with HP so can't any of their laptops to make videos with.
But martha I still love you. Great video.
Yr the best !!
Cheers!
Run the gamer kof xiv!?
I cannot say I have never tested that game. My guess is probably, these laptop CPUs can play anything, in most cases it depends more on the GPU it's paired with.
I wont be surprised if super overhearing happens
Me either, and it does as I talk about in my Aorus X5 undervolting video.
Meanwhile I’m here still with my 4c4t i5 7300hq
Still pretty decent! I'm using a 6700hq 👌
I guess, it's enough for me!
And isn't there an 8750h in your areo 15x? ruclips.net/video/bASY_WR-Rps/видео.html
Nerve-wracking!
lol
the cooling of the laptop matters the most. Everything else is horseshit. If the 8750h could maintain his turbo clocks, it would be the same as 8850h...I bet with undervolting and stuff, both are close.
My results include undervolting in the CPU tests to allow for best performance with minimal throttling.
amazing
Thanks!
Świt i've got i7 8750h and i had score like 8850h OC
Cool, probably goes above the Intel 45w TDP spec.
The content is good, I just cringe at his voice and the way he speaks lol
lol haha me too he talks so bad. Don't worry, I cringed watching your vids too ;/
First haha
Second 😎
