Love watching your daily vlogs. I’m doing the Quilters hangout picture from Liberty Bell also. I’ve just received the first installment and for the first time ever, started a project on the day I received it !😂 looking forward to making all the little quilts. Loving all your lovely projects and seeing your lovely grandchildren and cute dogs. Thank you for taking the time to vlog for us. X

Cover behind your head is called as antimacassar. I found several in my mum's airing cupboard when I was clearing out. I'm sure she was the embroiderer. I'm using one on my bedroom chair. I found embroidered tablecloths in the sideboard too. Love your charity finds, things like that get snapped up quickly over here. Good to have an insider! Jane.

As you sit with all the shawls behind you, I was thinking the cream and gold would look nice with that dress.
I am loving your quilt blocks😘. Yes, the orange thread is a perfect pop of color for the quilting. But i like the darker thread colors too. it is so fun.
    See you later.

Hello Karen, arm caps and antimacassars are the words you were looking for to cover arms of chairs and sofas, and the backs of the same furniture! My mother used to use them and I use arm caps on my sofas and armchairs. I buy them with the furniture so they are the same fabric and can be washed, but you'd have to use fabric for your leather . I love the patchwork quilt, you are quite right to be pleased with the effect of your cuts and machine stitching - all that worry and it's worked out perfectly. I've altered the last 3 dresses I've bought! As I shrink they were far too long, I've altered the sleeves because my arms have shrunk with the rest of me, and I've added darts, in other words not much left of the original dresses 🤣. See you soon! x

It’s not called houseWORK for nothing. Yes we do belittle/ignore what we do as women. Your design decisions on the quilt worked well 😉 I’m not a huge fan of Steven West’s mysteries but have done a couple of his designs which I’ve chosen rather than a mystery one. I’m sort of doing the Christmas in July on my channel too. First time at such a thing for me. Both of those tablecloths are lovely. Great finds and a lovely thing for you to learn and practise on. Would be good on a non dining table or dresser too. The cloths on the back of the chair are Antimacassars. My Nanny had them for Grampy’s hair too 😁

It is not really a question, but I was hoping you will continue showing how you put together the quilt you used the machine stitches. It looks like fun.

WITA - wool is the answer did or are still doing a KAL for the Kaiser top. I much prefer it knit in a plain colour. My Mum used to embroider table clothes, chair backs etc. When she had my brother in 1966 she had done some on little nighties for him. Ducks I remember. Formby is a good place for charity shops. My Dad wore Brillcream...horrible stuff
