Very pretty, we chop up our tomatoes and canned skin and all, 342 lbs in 2022. Then use those to make our “v8” juice, sauces etc. just juiced up and canned 39 quarts. 😃

Spacious pantry, very jealous. Love most of the set up the one thing I would probably do differently is instead of using the plastic totes to store your winter crop vegetables. I would get my hands on some milk crates are small enough. They’re easy to handle when they’re full they also provide a lot more ventilation which is good for storing your veg. They’re also stackable upon each other and another nice feature. And they are very inexpensive. You can normally pick them up from places for one or two dollars. I usually get mine at wholesale club in fact, if I don’t need them and finished with them. Wholesale club will give me the money back for the crates. So it’s pretty much like leaving a deposit that when you’re finished, you’ll get back. I agree with you. The food pails are great for storing rice, pasta grains you can even get screw on lids to give you easier access, which is a nice feature have to say much easier to get into those things. Good job on the pantry. Love all the space.

Thanks! We definitely will do that. We just had these on hand at the time but you're definitely right about ventilation.

Enjoyed 😉 do hope yall keep this content going, canning, gardening, homestead stuff...it's my "jam"😬🤣 . So more inspirational channels besides 1870 Homestead and Acre Homestead. Three Rivers Homestead is an excellent one and Farmhouse on Boone . Also one a little different is Rain Country, she is very informative with dehydrated foods. And of course several more I could list🫣 I can't wait for all your new content. And I wish you both the very best. Still have not gotten the nerve up to start my channel. But do Homestead, garden and can.

I used a Victoria strainer and you don’t have to skin them or core them, very easy, makes a sort of purée and I canned that. You could make anything from that.

After years of battling with finding an easy way to deal with tomatoes we disco eted the weston electric press. Omg I wish I had it years ago.just quarter the tomatoes and feed thru press, fast easy.all those years I tried to justify the cost finally t
ook the plunge.I will never go back to old way!

Your shelves look fantastic! But i would pop in a Centre brace from front to back on every shelf because it will bow over time like similar shelving on that 1870's homesteads did. Poor Todd just did a video on it :-( Easier to fix now rather than when you're full to capacity. But they are awesome shelves, we made the same ones when setting up to begin canning too :-)

Are your potatoes dry packed? Íve been curious as to how they taste even though I know it's not an approved method for canning.
