Me too. Had no idea who the cameos would be, but gotta say I wasn’t blown away by who they were. Blade was probably the coolest, or X-23, but could have been better. Would have loved to seen some other original X-men, or quicksilver, and was hoping the Sabertooth ads were meant to mislead and was actually going to give us Hulk vs Wolverine. Ghost Rider could have been cool, too. A lot of missed opportunities in my opinion. But there’s always the possibility of D&W 2, hopefully.

Now that Deadpool and Wolverine is the highest grossing R Rated film of all time. And it hit one billon in the box office. Marvel studios is back. But whether they will be really be back on top is based whether the films that will release after if the stories will be good or not. Now I know doomsday and secret wars are going to be 2 billon dollar films, because the Russo brothers and Mr RDJ as a Tony Stark variant of doctor Doom. Will the stories for both films be good. Remains to be seen. But the mcu is definitely getting exciting again for the first time since endgame and no way home. Cameos are coming, and everything looks like after the ups and downs that marvel has had and after a unsuccessful 2023, for a lot of reasons. Things look like it is finally steering in the right direction. And yes Deadpool and Wolverine saved the mcu. The film was excellent in my honest opinion. I saw it three times on my free time. And maybe the next projects will match the same level of success of Deadpool and Wolverine. If the stories for all of the films that will come after are good. The same applies for doomsday and secret wars. Mainly with the next two avengers films. Expectations are very high. So marvel studios, and the Russo brothers who I know will make the story’s good. If secret wars bombs in the box office because the plot is not good. They can never recover from that. Because there will never be another avengers movie as massive and gigantic as secret wars. That movie will be a one and done thing. But the future looks promising for marvel studios, and it is about to really go down.

If you have a great story then the cameos and action scenes will be epic and meaningful. And in order to do that correctly, the runtimes for both Avengers films NEED to be long. Human Torch and Captain America would still be variants if they appeared at the same time because they have the same face just a different parentage and upbringing : I think the concept displayed in No Way Home where the same character can have a different face can also work in reverse . Doctor Doom /RDJ CRACKED . Remember Ralph Boner ? He was the first example of that in the mcu I think . We have to remember Wanda was reaching out in the multiverse and making copies of people in her hex. Ralph already existed with Eric Peters face but Wanda using CMBR energy and a bit of trickery from Agatha perceived him as HER quicksilver . Man I can’t wait until we rewatch the multiverse saga and peep all these nuggets Marvel has dropped since Wanda Vision. Speaking of Wanda , I like how Marvel is keeping her and certain other characters in our minds despite their current status . They want us to think about Wanda as the story unravels .

It's funny when you realize the only reason Deadpool didn't go back and get the original Wolverine from 10005 Universe is so they didn't mess up Logan the movie. Gambit had alot of sass to throw back. Meaning this will be the heroes that had been pruned because one blade is on the sacred timeline so they will be getting on the sacred timeline in case their earth dies while Deadpool and the Avengers sacrifice themselves on other timelines.
I'd like to give a little bit of moot point on cameos while we're talking about cameos/fan service here. While it's a joy for me to see them back on screen in one coherent universe, IMHO they are a bit too much fan service just for the sake of fan service. What I mean by that is, most are dying a cheap death that makes one wonder if their superpowers ever have weight/importance respectively. Reed's death and Johnny's dead already made me wonder if we're gonna see the same with Ben or Sue and if the F4 is gonna be that weak in this universe. Logan decapitating Sabretooth easily, Pyro negating Human Torch easily and X-23 able to stop a Juggernaut are also something that I'm not too keen on watching. If someone has to go I want to see them fighting for quite a while just because it is not easy to take down a person with superpowers even by a person with superpowers. I just feel like the writers wrote all these cheap deaths just for the sake of pushing the narrative instead of writing a meaningful encounter/fight/death in the context of a superhero fighting a supervillain. My concern is it almost feels like these writers are really clueless in writing a hero-villain fight dynamics. The most recent awful fighting dynamics is probably the moment where Wolvie-DP-Johnny encounters Sabretooth-Pyro-Toad, like they are showing that this variant of Logan is so strong that he could defeat Sabretooth easily but only for Pyro to overpower Johnny and suddenly they have a giant magnet to capture Wolvie with DP in between them. Like, these are all too convenient and we know immediately it's a plot armor. Like, why weren't the giant magnet used when the "resistance" attacked the Cassandra Nova's base ??? That giant magnet would take Wolvie out of the equation right away and it would be quite a dynamic to see the rest of the team trying to disable the giant magnet in between fighting with the mutants. Another thing, why Pyro wasn't shown fighting with his ability ??? I get that he needs a flamethrower and probably he didn't have one in the Void but why didn't we get the narration of that ??? I'm pretty sure Pyro would've scoured the Void to find a match/lighter/flamethrower as it's imperative for his superpower ??? Is it really that hard to find a match or lighter in the Void ??? Like, come on guys. I get that it's a Deadpool movie but I'd appreciate it more if they got the fighting dynamics and narration logics correctly and consistent.
Tbh I feel burnt out on marvel and I don't really care about the cameos anymore I just want good writing and good acting, less parody meta humor, more compelling emotional narrative. Gambit had alot of sass to throw back. Meaning this will be the heroes that had been pruned because one blade is on the sacred timeline so they will be getting on the sacred timeline in case their earth dies while Deadpool and the Avengers sacrifice themselves on other timelines.
I really, REALLY hope they recast Channing Tatum after Secret Wars.
I'd like to give a little bit of moot point on cameos while we're talking about cameos/fan service here. While it's a joy for me to see them back on screen in one coherent universe, IMHO they are a bit too much fan service just for the sake of fan service. What I mean by that is, most are dying a cheap death that makes one wonder if their superpowers ever have weight/importance respectively.
Reed's death and Johnny's dead already made me wonder if we're gonna see the same with Ben or Sue and if the F4 is gonna be that weak in this universe. Logan decapitating Sabretooth easily, Pyro negating Human Torch easily and X-23 able to stop a Juggernaut are also something that I'm not too keen on watching. If someone has to go I want to see them fighting for quite a while just because it is not easy to take down a person with superpowers even by a person with superpowers.
I just feel like the writers wrote all these cheap deaths just for the sake of pushing the narrative instead of writing a meaningful encounter/fight/death in the context of a superhero fighting a supervillain. My concern is it almost feels like these writers are really clueless in writing a hero-villain fight dynamics.
The most recent awful fighting dynamics is probably the moment where Wolvie-DP-Johnny encounters Sabretooth-Pyro-Toad, like they are showing that this variant of Logan is so strong that he could defeat Sabretooth easily but only for Pyro to overpower Johnny and suddenly they have a giant magnet to capture Wolvie with DP in between them. Like, these are all too convenient and we know immediately it's a plot armor.
Like, why weren't the giant magnet used when the "resistance" attacked the Cassandra Nova's base ??? That giant magnet would take Wolvie out of the equation right away and it would be quite a dynamic to see the rest of the team trying to disable the giant magnet in between fighting with the mutants.
Another thing, why Pyro wasn't shown fighting with his ability ??? I get that he needs a flamethrower and probably he didn't have one in the Void but why didn't we get the narration of that ??? I'm pretty sure Pyro would've scoured the Void to find a match/lighter/flamethrower as it's imperative for his superpower ??? Is it really that hard to find a match or lighter in the Void ??? Like, come on guys.
I get that it's a Deadpool movie but I'd appreciate it more if they got the fighting dynamics and narration logics correctly and consistent.
Tbh I feel burnt out on marvel and I don't really care about the cameos anymore I just want good writing and good acting, less parody meta humor, more compelling emotional narrative.
But if I had to choose cameos I wanted to see,

SECRET INVASION is TOTALLY different from BOTH SECRET WARS , yet despite its lackluster performance, I'm hoping it will be connected if ONLY to have Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke return to the MCU!
I need them to come back in the mcu. In ANYWAY 😭😭🙏🙏. Even now I really don't give a damn of how I'll take everything. Mcu is not the same without them (especially for me who started watching quite recently). Their stories can still be continued and have to (definitely Black Widow's).
