The post facelift w124 have smaller valves too, think the same as the w210, but in the old housing. The valves can be removed from the housing and swapped even if I remember correctly
Well sleuthed! What's the 210 part number? The MB part number for the 124 valves is 000 830 65 84, but that's the easy bit. Within this are the two Bosch numbers, 1 147 412 015 (early) and 1 147 412 035 (later). Then there is the Sitronic type 4 950 000 002. (The first Bosch type was prone to catastrophic failure.) Both the second Bosch type and the Sitronic are supported by the rebuild kits. I wonder if this is the case for the 210 valve.
Hi nice video! I have a question my w124 blows cold air only in the center vent and hot air in te sides, is it normal? I have no AC its the 1991 production stock one with dual clime zone
W202 has the sitronic. I replaced one just 18 months ago. Look identical to yours.

What setting did you use on the multimeter please? My 86 300d has no hot air so checking this first
I have

The rebuild kit I bought suited my W124 duo valves and all other duo valves W210 W220 etc.
My 1993 320CE also has the big pump as well.
This unfortunately is an MB part whos part number is obscured without disassembly.

that’s perfectly normal, only the later cars have the heated central nozzles. For yours and mine its fresh or cold air only.
@@MMWA-DAVE thanks mate, was a bit worried🙏😅
What’s the actual operation of these valves? Presumably side to side heating control?
They open and close to control the flow of hot coolant into the heater core.
In the dashboard are 2 heater controls for passenger and driver side…they control the opening rate of the duo valves…it’s a split system.
@@lancejohnston3688 presumably, there much be 2 heater cores as well then?
