People crap on the undertaker randomly showing up, but as someone who was there, it works 2 fold. Once as a swerve because everyone was predicting Austin, which would also have the same problems that tempest brought up here, but also on a symbolic level it works wonders. Taker has always been Vince's guy. His relationship and loyalty to Vince and the wrestling business itself is nearly built into his lore and the legend of The Undertaker. So Undertaker, Vince's guy, The Ghost of Wrestling's Past, being the one to secure wrestling's future in the new era by neutralizing another old name from the past coming in to ruin the present, just fits together so perfectly. Cody Roman 2 is absolutely my match of the year, and is basically a perfect Wrestlemania main event.

A forgotten part of history when it comes to Willow Nightingale vs Kris Statlander in that Chicago Street Fight for All Out was that the match was supposed to be for the CMLL World Women's Championship but it did not get sanctioned by CMLL because the company did not want women using weapons.
I knew she wasn’t gonna be on here. For me, it came down to Punk vs. Drew HIAC or War Games for match of the year. I can't recall such incredible storytelling from a single match from what we saw in the interactions between Roman Reigns and CM Punk during War Games from start to finish. No question that Punk-Drew was the feud of the year, but I have a feeling that a potential Punk vs Reigns feud would be off the charts intense in 2025.

It's a shame Wrestletalk can't do a Britwres review show. Even a monthly round-up would be appreciated. There was a lot of love for RevPro here, with Sat even mentioning EVE!
Listen, if people like Will, great! Like who you want to like. For me, I find him to be the wrestling equivalent of Michael Bay. Flashy, crazy, over the top, and causes my eyes to glaze over after about 5 minutes.
I feel like, as much as WWE doesn't use the term anymore, Cody v Roman was the most Sports Entertainment there ever was, It was great probably my personal number 5 wrestling match of the year
I'm so happy my boy ZSJ is finally getting love outside Japan. When I first saw his tar-baby technical style I thought "I don't care if nobody agrees, he's one of my tops in the world." A lot of people are about to agree. Can't wait for WK19.
Darby and Sting will always be one of my top 5 favorites of all time because I got to watch it live. The top of that list is Will ve Takeshita at the same event. To add, these are my favorites, not the BEST matches. There are better matches wrestled but I don't like them as much.
MOTY lists on the internet are going to be salty either way, I am just thankful that when I made my top 10, my shortlist had 41 matches I loved enough to consider for top ten. This year wasn't particularly inviting as an online wrestling fan however I don't know of any year that has more matches that I think could make new fans. WWE, TNA, AEW, NJPW, CMLL all had absolute bangers. As did many indie promotions from the UK to Canada and in the US.
WWE has had some good story telling this year. But AEW shows just put raw talent in the ring and it will talk itself. I could rewatch a handful a WWE matches and be happy. I know I can rewatch anything with Osprey, Danielson or Swerve from this year and know I am in for a good time.
I will just say I disagree vehemently with this list And I don’t know a world where you can say Oku vs osperay was better than punk vs Drew but you know
Pretty sure Tempest and Luke were there for that match and have followed both Ospreay and Oku for years. I prefer Mecedes vs Willow from Double or Nothing because I was there for it.
King theoden s one of my favorite characters in the book series, but he's only in it for one and a half books! I am shocked and appalled that they didn't feature the king of a far-off land that they don't get to until the second book, isn't in the whole trilogy!-1 star.
One thing this showed me is that Will Osprey is the best in the World. What a year he had. I thought AEW did a great job with Swerve, Danielson and Osprey and showing how you can put people over and still look great. Osprey beat Danielson at Dynasty, Swerve then beat Osprey and Danielson beat Swerve. All 3 are top 10 matches of the year and they all looked like stars in win or defeat
Love these videos. My favorite match from this year is probably Swerve vs Danielson and then Moxley vs Takagi from NJPW battle in the valley (I was there so I have bias for the match)
I was more focused this year on MMA than on pro wrestling, so it’s hard for me to chime in any additional entries, but I will say it’s weird that we all kinda forgot about the United Empire vs Bullet Club War Dogs pseudo-WarGames Match. Also, if there’s a “Worst Matches of 2024” TLC happening this week, I’ll be incredibly surprised if Tempest didn’t put Ibushi (and his two broken ankles) VS Marifuji on that list.

But definitely gotta shout out Mayu Iwatani from Stardom cause she’s probably the only person this year, in my opinion, that could rival Will Ospreay in their match catalogues.
Like I literally have all these matches on my shortlist:
Mayu Iwatani vs Syuri
Mayu Iwatani vs Sareee
Mayu Iwatani and Sareee vs Veny and Chihiro Hashimoto
Mayu Iwatani vs Momo Watanabe - 5 Star GP
Mayu Iwatani vs Toni Storm
Mayu Iwatani vs Momo Watanabe - Historic X-Over II
Will Ospreay is the best wrestler in the world right now. Every match this year he has had is nothing less than excellent
there’s more to wrestling than flips lmaoo
@@kylebreslin27 He's going to be on a lot of top 10 match list for a reason.
My List:
1) Punk vs Drew HIAC
2) Danielson vs Sweve All In
3) MJF vs Ospreay Dynamite
4) Ospreay vs Danielson Dynasty

9) ZSJ vs Danielson New Beginning
10) Fraxiom vs Chase U No Mercy
Alternative title: best will osprey matches of 2024.
I was there live for the Punk/McIntyre match and man let me tell you this match was SO GREAT! I was recording some of it on my phone before I just ending up putting it back in my pocket and watching the match in the moment that I was so locked in
CM Punk vs Drew Mcintyre is the best of the year in my opinion.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
For me, it came down to Punk vs. Drew HIAC or War Games for match of the year. I can't recall such incredible storytelling from a single match from what we saw in the interactions between Roman Reigns and CM Punk during War Games from start to finish. No question that Punk-Drew was the feud of the year, but I have a feeling that a potential Punk vs Reigns feud would be off the charts intense in 2025.
1. Drew McIntyre vs Cm Punk HIAC

@@robbyistheg.o.a.t5212 You've got Gunther vs Sami twice there bud. Solid list tho
@@syko2695 I felt like I was missing a couple matches but didn't know what so thanks
@@robbyistheg.o.a.t5212 I'd have had the other Randy/Gunther from Berlin cuz the crowd was fire but both matches are great
@syko2695 I like the flow of the KOTR match along with the storytelling of Randy's injured knee better, for me it flowed better but like you said both are good
Cody vs Roman not even being top 5 on any list is so insane to me
Cuz Meltzer didn’t give it 5 stars…😒🙄
No NXT at all? At least 3 or 4 sshould be NXT, especially the S&D Femi vs Briggs vs Dijak.
Underrated match of the year Wyatt sicks vs American made debut match
Great tag synergy from both teams with the added emotion of wyatts debut
It was good but „match of the year“ is crazy
Oh definitely not number 1 but like in the 5 - 7 range
@@JS06-h5d even for that it‘s kinda crazy considering what else is in the top 10
Just personal opinion I don’t watch a lot of AEW
I can't tell, does Luke like British indie wrestling? 😂 Great video guys, but I'm disappointed there was no mention of any NXT matches. Maybe a New Years resolution for WT is to cover NXT more.
It's 2024 and the joshi scene is still being overlooked so I'll acknowledge it for you
Mayu Iwatani vs Sareee (stardom all star grand queendom 27/04/24)
Mayu Iwatani vs Syuri ( stardom ittenyon showcase 04/01/24)
Mayu Iwatani & Sareee vs chihiro hashimoto & veny ( Sareee-ism Chapter V (02/09/24)
Mayu Iwatani vs momo Watanabe ( historic x-over II 17/11/24)
What a year for Danielson.
AJ STYLES VS CODY RHODES
I think Punk vs Drew is the best match because not only was it great in terms of work, but it was super heated and had genuine historical impact in terms of reviving the aura of hell in a cell.
one problem bud: it wasn't in AEW!
I'm surprised there's no Gunther.
@@kennobu8181 Yeah Sami at Mania or the Bash in Berlin main event against Randy for sure
His KotR round 1 match on raw vs Seamus is in my top ten wwe matches of the year
Gunther vs Priest at Summerslam is on my list
That’s b/c it happened in WWE. They needed their space on the list for the AEW matches that had zero heat. Zero storytelling. And 1000 flips.
Merry Christmas everyone
Wow no Stand and Deliver Triple Threat
They needed to put as many AEW matches as they could on there. They couldn’t make room for it. Although it was a hell of a match. Top 5 for me.
Here’s mine wwe only
10. Gunther vs Sami zayn wrestlemania
9. Aj styles vs Cody Rhodes clash at the castle
8. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs the bloodline backlash
7. Sheamus vs Ludwig Kaiser vs bron breakker survivor series
6. Sami zayn vs chad gable clash at the castle
5. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins vs the rock and Roman reigns wrestlemania
4. Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens bash in Berlin
3. Aj styles vs Cody Rhodes backlash
2. Cm punk vs drew McIntyre bad blood
1. Cody Rhodes vs Roman reigns wrestlemania
SOLID LIST!! 🔥🔥🔥
@@SJ_RANKS wow you have a better list than them
Sami zayn vs chad gable clash at the castle match deserves more love
I'll never forget my Omegachat asking for Tony to give Danielson vs Ospreay when he had just signed. Thank you TK
Taker is the true final boss
Tempest wishes he was British so badly
This was always gonna be the crazy list because with so many great matches, it can go in so many directions. That there were not only 9 repeat votes, but a PERFECT 1-2! Just wow.
Plus, is this the first time that a New Japan match makes a Top 10? And even more so, the first INDEPENDENT match?! TWO OF THEM?!?! That's insane!
1) Ospreay/Danielson (Dynasty) (30)
2) Swerve/Danielson (All In) (27)
3) Punk/Drew (HIAC) (18)
4) Oku/Ospreay (RevPro12) (16)
5) Danielson/Sabre (NJPW) (13)
5) Swerve/Ospreay (Forbidden Door) (13)
7) Cody/Roman (WM40) (8)
8) Darby+Sting/Bucks (Revolution) (7)
9) Team RevPro/Cut Throat Collective (RevPro12) (6)
9) Ospreay/PAC (All Out) (6)
11) Willow/Statlander (All Out) (5)
11) Ospreay/Rico/Takeshita (Wrestledream) (5)
uhh isn't Sat's 10 wrong? Swerve/Hangman 3 was the Dynamite match that ended in a draw. The All Out match is 4
Edit: oh good tempest corrected xD
say what you will about cody vs roman…i was in the stadium that night and idc if undertaker made sense or not…roman had to be stopped…super thankful that this was my first wrestlemania
One match that I absolutely loved this year but seems to be forgotten is Okada vs Danielson at WK18. I understand why people forget it bc there's been so many amazing matches this year, especially from Danielson, but man I just adored this match
Swerve vs Bryan was the best match of the year.
Luke: TAbles
Middle guy: LISTS
Tempest: chairs..
Sat really makes these tlc episodes! Keep him in.
Here are 10 of my favorites in no particular order
Women’s Royal Rumble
Oba Femi vs Josh Briggs vs Dijak (NXT Stand and Deliver)
Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch (Wrestlemania XL)
Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens (Bash in Berlin)
CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre (Bad Blood)
Sting & Darby Allin vs The Young Bucks (Revolution)
Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson (Dynasty)
Swerve Strickland vs Will Ospreay (Forbidden Door)
Bryan Danielson vs Swerve Strickland (All In)
Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland (All Out)
It's a shame Wrestletalk can't do a Britwres review show. Even a monthly round-up would be appreciated. There was a lot of love for RevPro here, with Sat even mentioning EVE!
Loved having Sat on this video. His explanations are great and he has slightly different taste than the other wrestlelads. Good stuff.
Luke & I have been on the same page with this!! Bayley VS Iyo has been slept on. Such a great match 😁👍🏾
Listen, if people like Will, great! Like who you want to like.
For me, I find him to be the wrestling equivalent of Michael Bay. Flashy, crazy, over the top, and causes my eyes to glaze over after about 5 minutes.
Exactamundo
I think he is the AEW Charlotte Flair
Overbooked, overhyped, overused good wrestler
Facts ✔️
Yeah ya'll are officially insane for this cody vs roman disrespect.
I agree with like oku vs jacobs was incredible at rev pro anniversary and im happy i was there to see it
I would have thought swerve/hangman would much higher on sats list
Look I watch both companies. People complain about AEW fans online, but man the WWE fans are absolutely crying in these comments lol
Facts they mad as hell 😂
The anti-AEW agenda has gone completely off in 2024 to the point where if someone is actually fair to both WWE and AEW they get called an AEW shill
26:21
How I sound when I sing "Final Countdown" 😂
Oh boy, there are about to be a LOT of salty WWE fans because Drew vs Punk wasn't number one...I cant wait to read them 😂
Darby and Sting will always be one of my top 5 favorites of all time because I got to watch it live. The top of that list is Will ve Takeshita at the same event.
To add, these are my favorites, not the BEST matches. There are better matches wrestled but I don't like them as much.
WrestleTalk should also do a yearly award for the best review and podcasting. oli luke and others
The first and last video I will ever watch from these lads, bad take on wrestling
Osprey vs MJF!!!! The first match was the best to me
MOTY lists on the internet are going to be salty either way, I am just thankful that when I made my top 10, my shortlist had 41 matches I loved enough to consider for top ten. This year wasn't particularly inviting as an online wrestling fan however I don't know of any year that has more matches that I think could make new fans. WWE, TNA, AEW, NJPW, CMLL all had absolute bangers. As did many indie promotions from the UK to Canada and in the US.
good lists but imo serve vs osprey is top 3
Let me guess, the salt content in the comments section is extra high?
I've seen 2 Luke Jacobs Title Matches this Year in Person from Infinite Promotions and both were Amazing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎅
I was at all in and it was my first wrestling event ever so I'm going swerve v danielson for number 1. Oh lord I'm stiff and holy!
WWE has had some good story telling this year. But AEW shows just put raw talent in the ring and it will talk itself. I could rewatch a handful a WWE matches and be happy. I know I can rewatch anything with Osprey, Danielson or Swerve from this year and know I am in for a good time.
Comparing hangman vs swerve to flair vs steamboat or rock and Austin…
I will just say I disagree vehemently with this list
And I don’t know a world where you can say Oku vs osperay was better than punk vs Drew but you know
Pretty sure Tempest and Luke were there for that match and have followed both Ospreay and Oku for years. I prefer Mecedes vs Willow from Double or Nothing because I was there for it.
Still an entertaining watch nonetheless
dream TLC line up Luke sat and sully
Wait till Rumble season ;)
@@SatNextTo CANT WAIT!
The other thing is how even Ospreay, Swerve and Danielson were. Ospreay beats Danielson, Swerve beats Ospreay and Danielson beats Swerve.
King theoden s one of my favorite characters in the book series, but he's only in it for one and a half books! I am shocked and appalled that they didn't feature the king of a far-off land that they don't get to until the second book, isn't in the whole trilogy!-1 star.
thank you guys for yall amazing work all these years but 2025 will be the year of oli davis
Please top 10 kickouts/nearfalls of all time
One thing this showed me is that Will Osprey is the best in the World.
Ospreay & Kyle was fantastic til the tombstone on the steps that Will kicked out of. Comply killed the match. Went from 5 stars to 3
I love how much Sat content we've been getting the past couple months.
My only problem with cody and roman 2 is that its the same match from the year before but with seth/undertaker over sami/KO and cody won
