So many good products but what surprises me is... a partner who uses retinol 👏🏻 well done, well done, I was happy I got somewhere with sunscreen this summer but I'm a long way away from your achievement 😄
I've heard that opinion about TIL Oat cleansing balm quite a bit but I'm glad it works for me because it is very affordable! (oily skin too) ✨

Thank you so much for your Inky Oat cleaner review! I thought I was the only one this didn't work for! I don't feel like it cleaned and agree about the residue. Huge fail for me too.

I felt the same about the Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm. I also felt the formula separated as I worked through the tube. I ended up using it to remove waterproof sunscreen on my dry body skin.
That's a good way to use it up. I forgot to mention I used it to shave my legs by the end of the tube. Unfortunately it seems a lot of people had similar experiences. But also a love of people love it and are loyalists! It fascinates me lol

As someone with dry skin, that waxy residue left behind on the face did not feel moisturizing to me either, it was unpleasant and I found myself washing my face twice afterwards to get it off! I think the oat cleansing balm is just not the most elegant formula. I'm not sure if they still do it, but physicians formula had a cleansing balm that was comparable in price to the oat cleansing balm but it was much nicer.

Sure! It varies a lot as I rotate actives and test different products. But it looks something like this:
AM:
single cleanse
vitamin c serum
hydrating serum
eye cream
moisturizer/SPF
PM:
double cleanse
(BHA or chemical exfoliant 1/2x a week)
hydrating serum
eye cream
moisturizer
(retinoid 1/2x a week)
I never use chemical exfoliants or retinoids on the same night and I always give my skin one non-actives night in between to keep my skin barrier strong. Hope that's helpful!
trying to decide between Violette Boum Boum and the Make Micro essence- what do you think?
I cannot find an inexpensive dupe for my creme de LaMer & it’s so frustrating. I’ve tried Nivea & it’s too greasy. I can’t find anything that’s as thick but not oily. I’d ❤to know if you could help 💕
I don’t think that there’s an inexpensive dupe for it but here are some options:
Osea advanced protection cream-slightly cheaper but cleaner. The best moisturizer I’ve ever used period.
Drunk Elephant face cream in the jar with the purple top- elegant and very moisturizing
Skinfix moisturizer in the darker blue jar- similar to DE but cheaper

The first thing that comes to mind is MAKE Beauty's Hibernation Balm. Not an exact dupe, but very similar in terms of texture. They're both thick but not oily or greasy-feeling. Worth a shot at a fraction of the cost and has refillable packaging too! shrsl.com/3rv8w
