    I like the auction videos. I personally prefer seeing all of those older ones as well. If the length is an issue, I would be fine with just an overlay showing what that machine sold for.

    I do like these auction videos and I like the format you used in this video. We get to see a flavor of where prices are going on newer tractors. Personally I’m not interested in seeing what a 1971 whatever sells for.

    Tim; I've no interest in buying a tractor but I do enjoy these videos. Personally, I'm more interested in the old, quirky stuff but I can understand if the majority prefer the more useful machines.😁

    Easy way to solve the loader arms blocking the model number. Don’t buy a loader.. Loaders on tractors depress me because of all my years running skid steers, wheel loaders, and backhoes.

    I like watching the auctions, to see what the real selling prices are right now. SO many owners are selling their tractors at super-inflated prices, as the dealer inventories were short due to the supply-chain/global-warming intentional inflation of diesel fuel prices....which continues. It seems the fuel prices are becoming (again, INTENTIONALLY) more of a threat to food supply and farming equipment costs, than the price of the tractors themselves, IMHO.

    Tim
    2 things you mentioned that I can agree with.
    1. The fact the manufactures model numbers are covered up when loaders are attached. Always an annoyance with me.
    2. The fact any tractor sold for XX number of dollars, does not mean you could have bought it at that price or even the next bid, if you were there.
    As for your auction videos, love them.
    I realize it is a lot of editing, and a real pain to make them. But I would be all for seeing more of the older tractors going across the block and what they sold for. Do not need for the entire bidding process, I find that a bit much. Even some of the older vintage machines would be very interesting to see.
    You could split it into 4-5 videos, if that would make it any better for you. I really do not know that much about what all goes into the making of these videos, except it is not all it's cracked up to be, and the editing is no fun, and takes time. If it brings you more income, good for you.

    These are interesting to watch. Having Aaron on was a bonus. I think it'd be fun to have him offer a viewpoint for when they go to an auction for used equipment. One thing I'm curious on is if someone like Aaron or Neil have customers let them know what they're looking for and they possibly find it at an auction.

    I'm thinkin you are in John Deere country. We used to be but Ag Pro has purchased all the JD dealers all along I-75. If you aren't paying them to be under their protection plan it takes forever to have something fixed. For that reason alone I use Kubotas which are very good as well. I have no complaints with either brand it's the JD dealers that I can't work with.

    Buying a used tractor is a gamble. A tractor @ 2years old were the BEST part of the warrenty is expired, once bought regardless of hours is 20% LESS than original price. And @ 5years where as 90% of brands of 100% of warrenty depletion occurs, a 35% reduction should be expected even IF minor hours show on the clock (100-250 hours). Reasons being a warranty is EVERTHING! Engines cost 6000.oo$ plus & Transmission cost 7000.oo$ plus, and they Both can "GRENADE Catostrofectly" ANY SECOND after the warrenty expires, but unlikely for the original owner for 3000-6000 hours. With this "IRON" going to the "blocks" way before being hardly used = novice usage & problems to come. A LONG warranty is GOLD. And a promise of longevity & reliable bility is almost wortless---quit a gamble on used low hour "out of warrenty " machinery. New is were it's AT! Used =potential Big Problems(maybe). "It better be cheep " if used & warranty expired.

I would like to see what some of the older stuff sells for like you were mentioning at the end the old Kubota or in the clip of the New Holland tractor there appear to be an old Ford tractor sitting in front of it what do the cheaper more inexpensive tractors the older equipment that may be a little rough around the edges or quite a few years old what does some of that stuff bring?

    Could you do an auction episode where you cover only the 1980s and 1990s tractors. There are a lot of tractors in that age range with premium price tags on them in my area. It's hard to find a John Deere with less than a $10,000.00 asking price. One I watched for a while on CL was missing the plastics due to fire and they still wanted $8000.00 for it. Some of the little 1980s tractors have climbed in price quite a bit since 2020 and I'd like to see what they bring at a live auction. This auction was a good example of never knowing what will happen with price. At least two of those tractors would be considered a steal around here. Thanks for another great video. God Bless.

    I have a hard time at auctions: My ear never quite gets to the place that I really understand the auctioneer. It is interesting to see what select tractors go for, however I would probably not buy at an auction just because I can't be sure to get the tractor I want. If I want it so will others! I guess that is also true of tractors in adds but that is just the way I am used to doing it. On my imaginary bit larger than hobby farm I would have a new John Deere 4066R with a lot of attachments and a 1965-1971 John Deere 2020 The 2020 is similar HP and will run many of the attachments but no cab or AC! Farmall Cub to mow between the fence and road (flat not a ditch) and robots to mow the majority of the lawn. Because I like equipment I might own a lot of other machines, however that would be all that would be needed. I guess really the 4066R could do it all by its self but I don't want to just add hours mowing with it when I have so many thousands of dollars in specialized equipment picked out for it. Some jobs need two tractors. So the 2020 would be handy.

      At this auction, if you are interested in a tractor, you can walk out to one of the handlers…get right beside them, and they will help you with the pricing and bidding.
      Once you bid, they will give you plenty of time to decide on your next bid…but only if you have been identified as a bidder..if that makes sense.

    I like seeing what things go for. There were some good deals. As an aside, I know this is how auctions have always been done, but I really have a hard time following due to the babbling BS yodeling the auctioneer does. I actually think others do to and it hinders what the machines go for. I think they would sell for more without the stupid yodeling.

      Yep. And some are better than others. Some don’t even enunciate the price clearly …ever.

    I find the auction a bit intimidating because I have almost no idea what the auctioneer is saying... I feel like I would end up outbidding myself in the confusion. ;)

      The ‘handlers’ closer to you help with that. They help indicate when you are ‘in’ and when ‘out’.

    Is the "SOLD" price what the bidder pays or is there an extra buyer's premium added? Obviously sales tax is added.

    I just looked at two auction houses 1 in Missouri and 1 in Oklahoma they both have tractors that they own on there websites for sale every day and all of those tractors were on the sale bill for the auction so you are always bidding against the auction house

    TIM! Help need your opinion,I have the opportunity today 8 -15 -22 to buy a 2019JD 1023e with loader and turf tires hydrostat. It has 68 hours on it- it's basically brand new flawless. The guy is stuck on 14,100. Based on today's market, is there any meat left on the bone for resale?

    You left out 2 major factors concerning auctions
    1. Sales taxes
    2. Auction fees

    I purchased 5 acres and I am interested in the budget friendly models.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  2 года назад +3

      Unfortunately, they are not ‘budget friendly’…after you get them home.

    • @scottsoper
      @scottsoper 2 года назад

      Tim is correct! However a big part of "budget friendly" is your shop skills and what you need to do. One can get by with a "junk" mower on five acres if mowing is all you are going to do and you are not to picky with the mowing job. Also older machines are likely to be slower: so a 60" woods on a Farmall Cub is going to take longer to mow than the same size zero turn. (A good Farmall is NOT junk but the price can be high for a restored model also) If RUclips will let me I will show you a crazy system where a small tractor pulls several small mowers in a way to cut a large swath of grass at a time! ruclips.net/video/PA88-o4Iatk/видео.html

    That Mahindra new with loader, box blade and brush cutter is $23k in NC. A new Max25 with loader and tiller is $20k, Max20 is usually advertised around 16k new with 1 or 2 implements. In 2020 all those would have been $1500-2000 cheaper and included 1 more implement.

    Great video. Man some of the prices for some of those tractors. I bet most of the mom and pops dealers are buying up most of those like new tractors.
