    Hi there! Please note that:
    1. I did mention that The Wired Gourmet recommended 11 to 13 grams; while in reality, he never recommended a range of doses. This was an error from my side, so apologies for that. I mentioned it because it's what you're expected to put on your singles using his method, rather than him personally mentioning/recommending that particular range.
    2. I did modify the Home barista method slightly by implementing a small tamp first before a bigger one in the second and the final tamp. This is completely an invention of mine, because I found that going directly with a normal tamper is very hard to reliably do well.
    3. I felt that the resistance from the tamp (with a normal sized tamper) is slightly different. Instead of trying to feel when the puck starts to resist, like in a double shot basket, try to find the force where the resistance from the rim (the outer part of the basket) and the puck is balanced/equal. If you feel like the rim is exerting way more resistance, then you might need to increase the dose.

I bought a gaggia. It came with a 9 gram basket with many of the holes filled. I twice tried to buy an 9 gram basket and got baskets that took 15 and 13 grams. Where do I buy a 9 gram basket or do I put up with gluggy pucks?

What do on my oracle is not adjust the grind I dose 10g the machines grinder tamps but I tidy up with a spiny tamps thing and a mic free spring tamper more because I enjoy the process than really needing to. I then hit the single shot button which is set to 19 secs.
I find that a single shot and the double shot off my oracle almost the same and sometime I prefer the single shot.
Give it a go it works well for me. Tho the Oracles auto dose and tamp might be assisting.

That sounds cool. Did you play around with the dose? How did you end up with 10 grams?

@@EntekCoffee a little bit I think the stock Breville baskets are a tad bigger than standard. It may be the auto tamp in the grinder that is helping and I don’t have a grinder without that feature yet. But pulling a single shot for half ish the time is something I have always done. The shots out of the oracle are far better than anything else I have had by a long shot. And I have had a Rocket Giotto

Hmm... perhaps we're looking at different diametres here. I guess my tutorial is tuned for the IMS only. Nice to know!

@@EntekCoffee could be the oracle is 58 mm and mine has an IMS dispersion disk and screen so it’s not standard. Not sure if that would make a difference.
I am trying to get my wife to allow me to get either a DF83 or DF83V if that happens I’ll retest it and let you know.

I've found home barista recipes are a lot of the time only suitable to home baristas, doing those amount of steps while on the clock would be hell. Good video! Consider adding background music, it doesn't have to be super upbeat or anything but it helps fill the space between sentences and scene switches

Thank you! I agree, things can get too quiet sometimes. I'll definitely try your suggestion next.
