Great Guest Josh n Rob. Excellent business insight from a company that creates truly great performing products. Love my DD26 purchases and look to add more!
Great discussion. From a recreational and retired angler with a small boat, when a sponsored angler is on the water and thinks they are entitled to bump me from a point or bite I’m on because they are in a tournament: you just cost your sponsors my business. I love your comments, “no one cares what place you finish.” Keep the good stuff coming.
100% agree, make yourself a good enough angler to where you're an asset to a sponsor. too many guys put the cart before horse, but I think that too many guys are preaching on the importance of running tournament fishing as a business and putting yourself in contact with sponsors, but you still have to catch them to earn those sponsors, competition in the aaa level is rough! you catch them there, those sponsors will come. work hard, save money, put yourself out there, then catch them! I tried the opens last year, it is hard! even if your good, 225 boats on a place for 5 days before the tournament ads a whole other layer difficulty to that deal, but 9 guys a year figure it out. its possible.
just recently started tuning in to these podcasts and i love em. keep em coming 👍🏽
