While I don’t like having aging skin I try and tell myself it’s a privilege denied to many. Certainly beats not living long enough to age. With that said I have learned so much from your channel! I got into skin care from watching your videos and my skin has never looked better. Thanks for always bringing so much positivity into everything you do!
I have an intense fear of aging, I'm relying on my black don't crack and good skincare, especially sunscreen. I appreciate how positive you are in this video Hyram!
aging is a natural part of life. you are never gonna see someone thats 60 looking 20. its good to prolong your youthfulness but don't let it control you. it happens to everyone eventually.
HEY! Listen to hyram! For reals, I work in healthcare and last week a 15 year old had a heart attack... let that sink in. 15!!!! Having problems of a 50/60 year old!!! Age does not matter! Health matters! If you want to use a gentle retinol as advised by your dermatologist or carefully by yourself with creams you can purchase from your local store, then do it! And don't listen to older adults saying stuff. They just jelly. I would know. I'm a little jelly myself, but that's not the point of this post! ❤ Love yourself ❤ You're doing an awesome job! 😊 Thanks Hyram!
When I worked at a children's hospital, kids having heart attacks was not really anything out of the ordinary, not out of the blue of course but as a result of other chronic or accute health conditions they present with.
In my 40s right now & SO appreciating the beautiful way you shared your perspective around aging fears vs premature aging and just obtaining a good healthy personal care practice. Dig dig dig. Thanks Hyram 🎉
I've been on tretinoin for about 4 years now, and what helped me get over the hump of being able to use retinol more than once every 1-2 weeks was layering on 3-5 layers of moisturizer after putting on retinol, letting everything sink in before adding the new layer. This worked for me and I'm now able to apply it every day!
I’m 32 and have always loved skincare, but until about 2019 I didn’t REALLY know what I was doing. I started wearing sunscreen religiously, double cleansing, avoiding fragrance, and utilizing retinol-plus I’ve recently cycled in tretinoin. Sunscreen has made the most massive difference in my skin. There are really lovely formulas out there these days, so it doesn’t feel like a chore to wear every day. If you want to see a difference in your skin, start there, trust me.
I love this video!! You do such a wonderful job of encouraging people to be comfortable with their skin. All too often, people feel shamed when they start to mature, but hearing you talk about how lines remind you of all the smiles and laughs is a good way to remind us to embrace our lines as well💜💜
As someone who's always wanted to keep life simple I never had interest in makeup or skincare except for use of ridding and hiding acne when i was younger. Dont remember how I stumbled across your channel but after I did about a year ago you've literally sent me into a deep hole of skincare journey and it's been such an amazing experience for me!! I've become serious about using sunscreen and obsessively research each ingredient in every product I become interested in trying. I love your channel and as someone who works in the fashion industry, I also love your style & all the clothes you wear in your videos :)
I am 26 and have made the decision to start getting botox. I am so happy you are not shaming people who get it. I am getting it for other reasons though. I struggle with headaches and am getting a subtle eyebrow lift. I constantly walk around lifting them, which also have given me some noticeable forehead wrinkles. The wrinkles are not the reason I am getting it, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about making them less obvious.
I didn't take proper care of my skin until around 35... I'll be 48 on June 12, and I'm pretty happy with my face now! Very few crinkles and, thanks to Argireline, my 11s are nearly gone! I'm honestly happy as punch. I do have a few deep forehead wrinkles but it's from squinting. They don't age me too badly. ❤ Number one tip: sunscreen!! Sadly, as a ginger, I had countless burns as a child.
Since ive had my two daughters, ive been trying so hard to make sure they wear sunscreen everyday I dont want them to have the same issues im currently going through in my late 20s
Thanks Hyram for saying how beautiful older people are, agree wholeheartedly and agree 100 per cent about caring for our skin rather than fearing the ageing process. I love the story of my life on my 60 year old face😊😊😊
I have olive skin and I would spend every summer, all summer long, at the beach. When I was 15, I was getting eye wrinkles. I immediately stopped tanning, and started skin care. It was worth it! 👍
i'm not scared of aging. but i definitely don't want to be prematurely aged. however when i think about premature aging, i think of billie eilish tbh. she's 21 and if you see close up red carpet pics, or candid pics or her, she has laugh lines, and wrinkles around her eyes. but imo, that just goes to show how she'd had so many laughs and good moments in her lifetime. and i absolutely LOVE billie. like she's legit my home and lock screen 😂😅 so this is zero shade to her at all! just a reminder that you can still be one of the prettiest, most famous person in the world and have signs of premature aging 😉 ❤
I’ve been using skinfix cream for two years and I love love it. I mostly use it at night but sometimes will use a little on top of my gel moisturizer to have a nice dewy look when wearing makeup. Doesn’t break me out and it does last awhile. And you can get a discount purchasing the refill instead of the whole product again. Definitely recommend 😊
I had a weird experience when starting tretinoin, my skin always reacted badly to topical acids in any strength like glycolic, lactic, salicylic etc so i never thought i could use tret. I took the plunge and have had no irritation from it whatsoever >.< maybe a tiny bit of dryness here and there but now i use .05% tret every night and it has saved my skin
In the words of Dr. Dray Tretinoin is the gold standard of skincare after sunscreen. Tips to start: low percentage, staggered application (every third day), on clean dry skin, apply over a moisturiser
So weird I have never had any issues with retinol and I hear it so often! I went straight to tretinoin and literally never experienced any irritation even with my already dry skin. Thanking the skin gods for that😂 cuz tretinoin is a game changer
Thanks for this Hyram! I'm 40 but thanks to your videos, good genes and good skincare I don't have any wrinkles on my face I do have dellocotage (however you spell it) wrinkles because I neglected that area and I'm a side sleeper. Is the Skinfix cream suitable for my age? I have minimal fine lines on my face, but my skin is starting to droop a little.
Could you do a video on skincare on the go while traveling, or even long term traveling where you're living out of a backpack but still wanna take care of your skin?
Botox can help prevent + maybe treat fine lines, but it cannot correct deep wrinkles. What other treatments would you recommend (like lasers or procedures) that would actually help people with deeper wrinkles?
I've been using Tretinoin for over a year...I've almost given up so many times. It's one of THE most annoying skincare products I've ever worked with. My skin looks great! Until I put makeup on it. I've tried EVERYTHING. sandwich method. scaling back the strength. scaling back the frequency of application. spending A LOT of money to try and find a concealer that won't flake off within a few hours. It's not for the faint of heart, I'll tell you that.
wrinkles rwut people think of aging topic, Im 39 and hav sum, but more concerned about hyperpigmentation and sun spots and melasma. I try to find skincare in those airless pump jars like the skinfix.
You probably have list of products that you already. made. But I am new, can you give three products at target CVS, or Walgreens, to take care of my skin, 57, my skin is mixed. Thanks love you content,
Get enough sleep, less exposure to the sun, use sunscreen and a face moisturizer, eat clean, stay away from junk food , fried food, processed food and eat less sugar , don't drink alcohol, don't smoke or do drugs and your skin will thank you for it.
i want to thank you for all what you doing for helping us take care of the skin...especially for your own care line " selfless by Hyram" ... witch I'm actually using...I have face wash gel, moisturiser and retinol& alge...all of these are amazing...kisses ❤😘
How familiar are you with Shani Darden? She is my skincare leader. She works with Jessica Alba and Jessica Alba is 40 but looks 5 years old. (obvi part genes part skincare) BUT Shani Darden has 5 routines I follow but idk if I'm doing em right. 1) Exfoliate 2) Vitamin C 3) Sunscreen 4) Retinol 5) Deep moisturizer. IDK what order they should be in and how often I should use em. OH! and theres like an LED mask thingy she has???? Are those Phony-Bologna? Thanks!
Hyram is the best. Like did it and nobody gave him credit for bridging gaps of skincare/ climate complex that we would never get but we will be in comments fighting about status or moralism. When like I dont know maybe we just wanted to know the science. Y'all heterosexual men.
I feel like people don't say this a lot, but as you age your bones also deteriorate so your skin sags. Not much that creams can do about that. So we gotta be realistic with our expectations
Oh, but after I lost 80 lbs my face fell, and I began skincare in earnest. My sister thought I'd had a face-lift. And I used inexpensive products and sunscreen! Lots of sunscreen😁💗
can u do a vid abt best moistrisers and sunscreens in one? and also do we need to use a sunscreen if our moistriser has spf 50 with 5 sunscreen ingredients ( i am refering to the CeraVe AM facial moistrising lotion with spf 50)
Those are not products but whole brands. Every brand will have it's hits and misses but Cetaphil is generally more often recommended by dermatologists than Neutrogena.
You definitely need to use sunscreen on the neck (and all body parts exposed). Honestly no, using retinol of your "wrinkles" at 15 can only make it worse because those are not actual wrinkles, that's just dehydration, and retinoids dry you out further.
Hyram, I was using skincare products from AVON and they worked for me because I have oily skin. What cand you say about the ingredients from this company. Are they good or not?
Hyram I need help (not my face) but the rest of my body is aging faster and I’m getting weird lumps, stretch marks, wrinkles, cellulite and other things on my body that I didn’t have when I was younger and my friends aren’t getting this. Preventive Premature Aging is my only concern, so what I'm doing in my early 20s is a combination of dermatology products/treatment, Korean beauty, and some professional treatments. And I avoid the sun like the plague. Soon I want to try laser treatment and Botox when I'm like 25. Yesterday I just did a facial where we started with a steamer, a double cleanse then a light chemical peel paired with microneedling and red and blue light therapy. Also gotta try and get 7-8hrs of sleep.
Lmfao that's my comment at 5:26 Tretinoin is my holy grail I started using it 21 and I've been on it for 2 years and it changed my skin completely. Gotta thank the ex gf that got me into skincare. 🤭 I'm probably gonna use Botox at 25 just for prevention maybe 2-3 times a year
One of the few things that I dislike about living in France (as an American) is that dermatologists are not nearly as likely to prescribe tret as they are in the US. Here, if you’re middle-aged and would like a prescription strength product to help your 11’s, for example, that doctor will just tell you that you’re fifty so you should accept it 😂
Yeahhh, where I live in eastern europe I went to a derm at a place literally called "Anti-aging Institute" and they didn't know that tret was used for anti-aging.
Gotta stop you right there hyram on tretinoin as I'm the specialist on tretinoin. I get my Tretinoin prescribed from my regular ole family doctor. LOVE Tretinoin

Can you talk about the neck and decolette, Including the back of the neck? Ok for sunscreen and retinol?
You definitely need to use sunscreen on the neck (and all body parts exposed). There are those pics of people who have only used it on the face, smooth nice facial skin and an extremely wrinkly darker neck. 😬
Retinol is also ok to use there but the neck can be more sensitive so gotta test the waters slowly and not starting with highest strenght.
