  • CURBSIDE FIND!!! Antique buffet/sideboard furniture flip! I can’t believe someone left this beauty on the side of the road! A friend found it, sent me a picture and asked if I wanted it. My answer was most definitely YES!!! This lady was in some major need of some TLC. There wasn’t really any major damage, but boy was she covered in cobwebs and even had live spiders! Eeeek! Watch this amazing transformation and my first time using clear shellac and my first successful stencil attempt!

@@jayrankowitz3829 what kind of repair work needs to be done, and are those repairs within your area of expertise! That will make all the difference. If you don’t feel up to those repairs, paint is the answer! It’s only paint, and can be removed should you learn the repairs! I once had a Martha Washington sewing cabinet that bragged about solid mahogany on the tag! I was so excited until I stripped it and every board was a different color of mahogany and in no order that would make it appealing. I finally managed to stain the top so that it wasn’t too mismatched but had to give up and paint the body! Still love it!

I appreciate the sustainable idea so much of salvaging old discarded furniture made of solid wood instead of buying new cheap Ikea furniture.
I'm not exactly a fan of painted furniture, but because of the condition of this sideboard and the dated granny style, the decision is particularly convincing especially because of the classic color choice. The result is very beautiful. The furniture shines in new splendor and provides plenty of storage space, for example for crockery.
