Girl, your hair always looks so healthy and thick, never wackadoodle! I really need to start working from stash so I'm excited to see the progress on your upcoming projects!
Awww thank you ☺️ Honestly knitting from stash is so satisfying! It's like confirming that my past self made the right choice in purchasing said yarn lol
I love your plans for the Hana sweater. I’ve never seen it before but I might need to make one for myself now. Personally I’m swatching to knit petite knit’s zipper sweater. This is my most complicated sweater to date and my first time using mohair, so here’s hoping. I’m using Berroco’s Lanas yarn in the color Dark Denim held with Malabrigo Mohair in color way Whale’s Road. I love dark navy but the mohair’s subtle shift between blue and purple gives the fabric a nebulous effect 😊
This all looks fun. 🤩 I’m working on a “chewie” knit dog pattern of a skunk 🦨 which gives me a chuckle, as well as a crocheted pocket shawl for a coworker. Stay warm out there. It’s been pretty frigid with lots of snow here in Ohio.
Aww that sounds adorable!! I hope both gift knits go well 🤗 Hope you are staying warm too! We just got a fresh layer of snow on the east coast today, and it's going to be below freezing this whole week 🥶
I love your attitude towards knitting plans. I've been trying to think of my hobby plans as options rather than intentional plans--it's more fun for me without a sense of obligation. As soon as I finish the cuffs on my current aran weight cardigan, I'm gonna cast on my first circular yoke and first dk weight sweater. Nothing fancy--just the Tin Can Knits basic pullover with some modifications for size, proportions, and some color blocking (because I love color blocks). Wish me luck!
Now that you said it, I think of them as options is def better than as plans! The last thing I want is to feel beholden to my whims from a few days/ weeks ago lol Ok love a color blocking moment-- good luck with your sweater!!
Currently doing the Oslo hat with knitting for olive merino in soil, and bad sheep yarn (hand dyed in FL) fingering weight merino/nylon in wine bottle. It’s making such a cool marbled fabric :)
I love your creative color and yarn combos! I desperately want to knit with the unspun + lace weight combo because of you. Right now I’m working on the Alex hood (with probably half a dozen other projects in various states of doneness).
I hope you do get to try out the combo this year! The fabric it produces is delightful 👌 The alex hood looks so so cozy! Hope it keeps you warm for winter ❄️
I love the Hana sweater! It’s a dream knit for me. I bought that pattern in 2022 as my second sweater, I don’t know who I thought I was hahaha. I have since then tried casting it on twice and maybe I am ready to give it another go..? Looking forward to seeing it in your podcast and hearing your thoughts about the pattern. All your projects are so aspirational!
You are not alone-- I am fairly certain I bought it around the same time, and I had only knit a novice sweater by petite knit at that point lol Here's hoping it does get cast on and successfully knit this year, for both of us!
Loved seeing your project ideas! The part about trying to get rid of all your light blue yarn and then realizing you like the color cracked me up. I'm glad you had one more sweater quantity left to use for yourself! Excited to see your progress over the next few months :)
I HIGHLY recommend Green Mountain Spinnery's mountain mohair yarn! It's a small employee owned spinnery is in Vermont and they source all US fiber for their yarns. Mountain mohair is such a fun, plush worsted weight and all of the colors have a lot of depth to them
I would love a video dedicated to unspun yarn! You have such a good grasp of how/when/why to use it and also so many different brands/types. I need advice from the unspun queen 😅
I actually don't think I have that many unspun sweaters-- I just wear/ talk about wearing the ones I have a lot lol Maybe I will share a video at the end of the year about them, cause I have yet to make a garment with the manchelopis or forgarn yarns. My experience so far has mostly only been with nutiden, but hopefully that will change by the fall!
PLEASE do the Hana sweater! its also on my list and I would love love love to see how you approach it because frankly the pattern looks scary to me ahaha
I'm also obsessed with the Hana sweater!!!! unfortch I don't have yarn for it at the moment (though I've been mulling over a really patchworky version in which every panel is a different scrap colour???) but anyways you need to cast it on :)! it would look so great in that cream with pink mattress stitching.
I think a patchwork version would be so cool!! Last year I saw a cabled sweater that was knit in a patchwork array of colors: www.essentiel-antwerp.com/us/p/white-sweater-girlcrush I imagine a hand knit version will be even more beautiful 😍
ok, that Nordic Mix sweater would not be for me... too busy, but I cannot wait to see it on you. I looked at the project pages and I don't see one where each different motif is in a different color - like patchwork. I think that would be pretty cool. Thanks for this episode, you put a lot of work into them! I also agree with the comment below, your hair is gorgeous!
It would be really cool if each motif was in a diff color!! I can only imagine the amount of work that would require 🤯 But so worth it for the finished object And thank you for the kind words 🥰
I'd love to see your version of the Hana Sweater! One of my knitting goals is the Elena Sweater by Junko and I'm building my knitting confidence up to make it. I'm also really in love with the Hana. It would be lovely to see you make it.
That one is also a total work of art! Then again, that probably applies to every sweater that Junko designs The construction is so beautiful 😍 I hope you do make that sweater in your future!
I’m intrigued by the Hana sweater. I’m currently knitting Sweater no 9 by My Favourite Things and the Stria cardigan by Andrea Mowry. Last fall I knit the Nordic mix sweater - very warm because of worsted weight so gave it to a friend. Also be aware of the “collar” because there are no short rows. (Also not size inclusive- I made the largest size and wish I had more ease)
Oh no- thank you for the warning about the neckline and sizing! I had been thinking of just doing a plain 2x2 ribbed collar and added in some short rows to the back of it 🤔 Something I will have to further consider before casting on Actually, I imagine it would be something like the sweater no 9 neckline lol
you're making me really want to try a petiteknit garment this year! both the amy sweater and the olga jacket look like things that would satisfy my 2025 making goal, which is to primarily make things suited for everyday wear - and to use up yarn i already have to do so. don't get me wrong, of course - i love the knitting process of a more intricate mohair/cable/lace garment, and it feels so good to wear my most special pieces, but those are not the kind of items that i'm reaching for most days. to start, i'm knitting the seaside tee by cheryl mokhtari (coco amour) but with thinner stripes à la florence miller's tombo tee, which i have been thinking about making forever!! just didn't want to do it in fingering weight yarn, haha.
I think her patterns are perf for everyday-- they are reliable and easy to make and wear (in my opinion). After making a number of her patterns, I know they'll generally fit me well 👍 Ooh a striped tee will totally fit into your goals of everyday garments! Happy knitting 🤗 (I've also thought about that tee pattern in the past, but don't think I could do the fingering weight gauge either lol)
Aw thank you! It is not hand made, but it is wood. I will try to remember to include a shot of it next time; I think in the last 10 sec of this video you can see most of it 😌
You've put the Hana sweater in all of your knitting plan videos! Do it! You're gonna kill it and I can't wait to see how your version comes out :)
You are so right 😭 I need to just do it !!
I agree! She’s gonna smash it!
i LOVE the neon orange & hot pink yarn combo for your amy sweater! that's gonna be so fun & amazing
Planning and then changing your mind and knitting with the flow is literally half the fun!
You get it 👏
Love the Hana!
Omg I can't wait to see your Tulip loop Roll Neck so we can match in the same colors
Yesss we can be twinning in our jelly bean sweaters lol 💚
OMG! Your idea to use light blue and different browns to do your Olga jacket sounds AMAZING !!! Might need to steal this idea 😍😍😍
2025 is the year we get smart with your stash 🙌
The Hana sweater looks beautiful!!! I would love to see your version
Manifesting its existence in 2025 lol
I love your plans for the Hana sweater. I’ve never seen it before but I might need to make one for myself now. Personally I’m swatching to knit petite knit’s zipper sweater. I’m so jealous of that Hillesvåg Rosa unspun, I missed out and have big regrets!! It’s going to be so beautiful with that la bien aimee too 😭 😍
Awww I hope they bring it back next October !! It seemed really popular

Another very inspiring vlog thank you !
Thank you for watching 🤗
The striped blue and brown jacket is going to be stunning!!!
I really hope so 🥰
Loved seeing your project ideas! The part about trying to get rid of all your light blue yarn and then realizing you like the color cracked me up. I'm glad you had one more sweater quantity left to use for yourself! Excited to see your progress over the next few months :)
I guess I had to force myself to work with it to truly appreciate the color 😂
I HIGHLY recommend Green Mountain Spinnery's mountain mohair yarn! It's a small employee owned spinnery is in Vermont and they source all US fiber for their yarns. Mountain mohair is such a fun, plush worsted weight and all of the colors have a lot of depth to them
yesss I saw them at rhinebeck this year and lusted after their yarn 😍 it's definitely on the list of mills I would love to buy yarn from!
I would love a video dedicated to unspun yarn! You have such a good grasp of how/when/why to use it and also so many different brands/types. I need advice from the unspun queen 😅

I remember being overwhelmed just scrolling through the pages 😭 I think it is one of those patterns where I will NOT be reading ahead lol

The isle sweater by ozetta has short row shaping done in the round and I really like how it turned out!
Ooh that one looks so cozy 😍

KNIT THE HANA!!!!
I should 😭 It might be a treat after I finish my gift knit sweaters lol
“ I enjoy making unrealistic plans. “ 😂😂
There is so much fun in being delusional 😂
Let’s cast on the tulip loop together 😊
Yes!! It'll be a beautiful addition to our winter wardrobes 😇
just popping into the comments that your ability to do mental math on camera is so impressive 😭🥰
Hahah thank you-- only cause they were nice, even numbers 😂
Cecily who? I want to look up her patterns but I can't make out what her last name is.
Cecilie Bahnsen, but unfortunately she does not have any patterns as she is a ready to wear designer 😅
Completely distracted by your beautiful dressing table, it looks real wood and beautifully hand made. Please can you show next time?
Aw thank you! It is not hand made, but it is wood. I will try to remember to include a shot of it next time; I think in the last 10 sec of this video you can see most of it 😌
