  • Mistress of Dragons by Margaret Weis, co-author of many Dragonlance books..
This one didn’t work out for me and ended up as a DNF.

So I know we read a lot of different books, but it seems like on the ones we’ve both read we almost always have the same opinion😂

Great video! Personally, I have always thoroughly enjoyed Margaret Weiss' novels, especially the original Dragonlance series! They are still on my top 5 favorite fantasy novels of all time.
Mistress of Dragons is one I have not read. I do know that it is also part of a trilogy, so it would be kind of interesting to know what happens in the second book.

If I were continuing to the next book, I would almost hope to see a time jump to see what happens with the twin boys at the end of the first one.
I may actually finish a Dragonlance book one of these days. But I would need a recommendation on a really good one.

@@TiffanyRussell If you would decide to read some Dragonlance, I would highly suggest reading the original trilogy (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning). Without reading these, almost every other Dragonlance novel would be kind of meaningless and the reader would be lost.

😢 the plot actually sounded promising, but sometimes it’s better to spend one’s time on books that we feel like we’ll love from the first page. Speaking of which, I started this book called “the life of elves” by french author Muriel Barbery that right from the very first two pages made me think that, IF the prose stays this good until the end, this will become one of my favourite books of all time. As I said, I haven’t finished it yet, but as of what I’ve read so far, it’s one of those precious rare books ✨

@@TiffanyRussell i've been going on with my reading and I'm halfway through. I still can say that so far this book is a rare jem, and I hope that it won't get bad in the last 100 or so pages that i have left to read 😅

@@TiffanyRussell update: I finished the book some time ago and even though the ending is not as perfect as the first half, I loved the messages of the books, the characters interacting and caring for each other, and most of all, the lirical writing style of the author ✨ I would still 100% recommend this book

I want to get into fantasy novels. What should i start with?

Ooh that’s a good question. It probably depends on what type of content you like.
For an older classic fantasy, one of my favorites is Magician by Raymond E Feist.
For something more modern, I really enjoyed Veronica Roth’s novella, When Among Crows. It’s short and well done, and might be a good place to dip your toes in.
