If you were an extremely early bird you might've noticed I reuploaded this video. It's now in 4K, to give more clarity to some of the places where I zoooooooom in. 😎
Gotta say i really like the maps look on this game. The scale and the look of the environment looks much better than Civ and even the new Millennia game.
I agree, they are rich, they embrace a depth in this upload (4k?) It is VERY nice. This game looks fantastic, I hope the success continues as they move to release. Very nice.
The devs appreciated that we are running out of unique names for historical 4x games (civilization, millennia, humankind, not many left!) and so went with ‘ARA’, a nice sustainable name.
I’m all for everything except the whole “kicking out civs as you go” thing. That just doesn’t sound fun, especially for people who might want to play in multiplayer. It’s one thing when you’re eliminated through conquest, but when the game itself is DESIGNED to want to kick you out of the game just for not doing well enough? That sounds like it can get very frustrating very quickly. I’d be much more excited for this game if it weren’t for that one thing honestly.
I can understand your point but either way I would get a shot this idea for two reasons: 1. Not many multiplayer games ever ends and that way you could feel that you don't have unfinished game 2. Sometime in the game during civ and such you feel that other AI are annoying as heck and sometimes you pray them to just dissapear. Either way we will see how it will go
My friend and I, we are huge fans of Humankind and CK3! What should be our next game for Multiplayer??? Old World, Aras or Millenium?? Thx a lot and congrats for your great work!
I would love to see a Video that would compare Old World, Aras and Millenium and help us decide in which one invest if we have money for only one! Thx a lot
definitely appreciate all these update videos, im sure youre head is spinning parsing this info! the biggest thought/question i have is what happens to civs that dont progress through the era. the fall into ruin, so is their territory just up for grabs? can any of the old ruins be reused? do their wonders still stay?
As long as there is MP, each video of this game you post makes me more excited and it would be a shame to not experience it with friends, but I'm not sure how I feel about civs being kicked out of the game. Does that not severely limit diplomacy? We shall see...
Kinda ruins the point of two lesser civilizations forming an alliance when one can just be kicked outta the game in the next era. Other then that I think this looks cool
Looks like they have made a ton of progress since the last technical alpha I played! Hope to be in this upcoming one the way the game has been developed looks very promising g
Seems interesting, i hope they improve the presentation a bit because its a bit ugly, especially in the UI field if things. Otherwise let's hope it's nothing like Humankind, that was a huge disappointment.
Graphics are meh. The focus on culture and prestige makes me feel there's not much action and military skirmish with the ai which makes me also think it might be a weak ai leaving you to battle the games forced progression logic.
I hope this one is more intuitive to learn. If I have to watch yet again tutorials on yt how to play I will consider it a flop. But I hope not it looks much more different than other strategy games. Anno 1800 is the most beautiful game yet but I don't like the "every construction made by the player" approach.
On loading up the game I will be expecting an anime waifu popping up saying "Ara ara"... Anyone know the story behind the name, or if it's short for something?
In game models of the cities and buildings/structures plus citizens look detailed and good, but holy hell do those leader character model renders look horrible and incomplete. If that’s what they’re gonna look like at game launch these devs need to get their eyes checked. You put so much effort into researching these historical figures and create a game for their stories but just screw up on character model….bruh…
strangely in such games suddenly water doesnt exist anymore again a map without any form of rivers look at a map of earth how many rivers there r very very bad no effort at all by the creators
I like the fact nations behind the curve drop off. In Humankind the lagging nations are given a boost to catch up. This dynamic will create a more realistic world. Looking back over history almost all civilizations have met their doom, gone through a period of chaos or civil war, and re-emerged as another entity altogether. It seems only the geography, language, culture, and religion persist. The politics is much more fluid and mutable.
Looks really exciting but what bothers me is how casual this game will actually be. I don’t want some easy peasy game for Fortnite players. Remembering good old times of Civilization 3 and 4. Those allowed to play it easy if you want on the lowest difficulty but at the same time if you’ll select hard difficulty then it will be really challenging. That was fair and square.
3 ages or acts isn’t many I wonder how they’ll do it when it comes to technological advancement civ kind of waves away the age between Stone Age and Iron Age and that era is pretty important for the development of civilization as a whole

That’s one of the reasons I like humankind so much
totally disagree no rivers whatsoever
This is an Alpha?@@sewthuis9659

Humankind, then Ara and Millennia. Are we entering a golden age of humanity-4X ..?
looks like a game made in 2010 tho....
@@backstabber3537 No it doesn't. We have games from 2010 to compare it too. It looks leagues better
@@backstabber3537 you need to check your eyes, seriously. I have bad news for you.

Civ VI meets PUBG.
Or maybe it's a great idea not to push one to sit to the end of the game when he knew he lost 5 hours ago

Would love to explore the combat system in more depth at this point. Hopefully the game will be released early next year.

My main issue is the seemingly lack of rivers, which, historically, were extremely vital and most civilizations were built up around them.
Wow yeah, I didn't even notice that and it's a pretty big thing
Someone edit pixel saying "ara ara" rn
Looks REALLY promising, hoping that ole sid gets some actual competition
More good Civ-like games, the better! Ara is looking pretty neat thus far.
It means civ will have to innovate for once or die out if these do well the future is looking bright for 4x style games

It is like av4x shrinking circle game
@@kittyspam2146 those games are fun but i dont want to play them all the time
I like the curved city walls.
I would love the living game feature to be added to civ 5. Mod developers, let's see what you can do
This looks great. This plus millennia…good times coming.
all i want to know is if it will show me the military units run and battle thru the cities
Wow, Civ VII looks great!
I just found out about this, but I'm already wantin to play it.
Honest Opinion this vs Millenia whats more promising for you?
Are you gonna cover to upcoming Old World DLC?
Does it have multiplayer?
The game looks great
. Hype!

don't feel like 4x more like sims vibe or in between

It seems that Canada's Capital was mistakenly labelled "Toronto" in* the game.
Looks interesting but the overlay looks too cartoony , Needs to look something like Imperator.
quando sera o lançamnto do jogo
Cell from dbz abridged: Alright! I'm actually a little excited!
Ara ara!
Looking forward to Ara. Thanks for the video!
Will i be able to make my own ai

A comment, randomly.
why did they name it ara though somebody is gonna say ara ara when they play it
ara ara~
Looks amazing!
👍
bro you know ppl ask for eu5 already XD
Looks great but all these games are starting to blend together.
Civ 5 + Cities Skylines = Ara. The mechanics and gameplay have great potential, but graphics looks very dated
