Hi everyone - Hope you enjoyed our latest episode - we are so excited to continue sharing our adventures here in Turkey and hopefully in Spring we will be able to continue east to Georgia, Russia, Mongolia and beyond - If you enjoy our adventures please consider subscribing - M&C😀🚐 xx
Maybe 28 mins is too long. 12-15mins is long enough. But if the stats say people are watching it to the end what do I know. I didn't though. Good luck with the rest of you travels.
you probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown xD
I miss the wonderful scenery in Kusadasi, you’ll always see the bright blue sky and if you’re lucky, you can also enjoy the mesmerizing sunset and sunrise.
We were in Kusadasi in December 2019 - the last time we got to get away. Holiday booked for May to Bodrum now looks like it will be moved to October so enjoy it all as very envious of you both.
Hi Marianne and Chris :) Kusadasi looks nice...another great find, with great views, and so much to do!! you were talking about the curfews Chris, which is tricky for you, but I guess you heard the news back here in the UK..with another lockdown on Tier 4!! Lots of people previously making arrangements to see each other, and no Christmas day get together now. Such a shame. We live in Eastbourne, so we are lucky to have some sort of freedom, and we can see our daughter Christmas Day ( who lives in Brighton ), for a few hours :) The little bay around 15 minutes from Didim looks lovely too. As you both said that you are doing all these videos, to give us an insight of Turkey, if we are to go there in the future, when it eventually is safe to go. Its just amazing seeing the beauty of Turkey following you the last few months. An amazing place. Then you finish at Bodrum !! What a pretty place next to the sea...a great spot to finish this particular video .. thanks again for sharing... Take care and stay safe....until the next time D & A xx
Glad you enjoyed it both ... and fingers crossed 2021 is the time that we can all get back to some kind of normal (travel normal for us) and that the pandemic is brought under some kind of control - Marianne xx Happy Christmas and New Year to you and yours xx
Love your videos.....We love Turkey (been 3 times). We’d highly recommend visiting Dalyan if you’re able. A lovely little town that sits on the Dalyan river/delta, opposite some Lycian tombs. The river leads to Iztuzu beach (nicknamed Turtle Beach as it’s a protected breeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles). In the 80’s an English lady called June (the locals named “Captain June”) who lived in Dalyan fought for the right to the beech to be protected so no hotels could be built - David Belllamy also joined the cause! They were successful! It’s a beautiful beach and they have a turtle hospital/sanctuary you can visit at one end of it with a museum telling the story of “Captain June” :)
What a lovely area. Those statues at the fish market were wonderful. You’re lucky to have these places practically to yourselves. Would enjoy seeing the area you reside in when going back to the UK for the vaccine. Are most of your viewers from the UK or the States? I think you two are the perfect age to travel. Old enough to do it in a sensible way and young enough to be physically healthy to enjoy the walks, hikes, etc.
Hello Our Dears Marianne and Chris ! Wow.Amazing. From Pigeon Island - Kusadasi to Bodrum. The view of the Mediterranean coast is really beautiful. Thank you for reliving the beautiful memories of our trips to Kusadasi and Bodrum. We wish you a pleasant journey. With Greetings Nurie and Hassan Bijan Hamburg
Great video I really enjoy the videos taken while driving and walking with the commentary describing the sights. Turkey is quite beautiful thanks for sharing
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing your travels with us. I pronounced Kuşadası as you do for 30 years, until very recently I realised it means bird island = Kuş + adası. Ada is island and the sı indicates the possessive. But I still find myself pronouncing it the “old” way, haha!
Thank you too! We are delighted you are enjoying the videos and we love sharing some fun and positivity ... have a fabulous Christmas and we all look forward to a hopeful New Year - woo hoo - Kind regards Marianne 🤗🌺
Another great video blog guys thank you. Though the drone shot of you both in the pool, looked like you where inside a tear drop. Thank you again, glad the cats OK 😻😻😻😻
You guys have no idea how much it means to me to watch your videos, specially since I got diagnosed with Covid recently. Thank you for bringing beauty and positivism into my life in a time when the whole wide world really needs it. Stay safe. Love from Texas ❤
You got this! It is a truly horrid time ... but there is light at the end of the tunnel ... it might be a while ... but never give up !! Hang on in there and we will all be hanging out one day maybe in Texas ? best wishes Marianne xx
There’s def a difference with the towns more set up for the holiday makers which is not as authentic looking but there is still so much to see round and about 😀 The reason we started going to Turkey was the beautiful turquoise waters, they are so clear and like yourself Marianne I can sit and stare at them for hours !! Looking forward to your next vlog and getting excited your getting closer to our favourite area of Turkey like Calais Beach, Fethiye and Olu Deniz 😀😀
So sweet to spend some time with you this Sunday morning. Highlights: meeting your dog and hearing him howl as you connected the local dog howls/prayers; your more conversational tone, it must be so nice to have each other on your adventures; the maps!; the beauty of the turquoise coast; your excitement at the vaccine news ( which I share); learning the term "spag bowl" (thanks for referencing it as spaghetti bolognese, that helped with the outro.) See you next week.
Hi Marriane and Chris, am still watching you guys on big screen, I like your new logo and wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎅🤶🎄 and hope Next Year will bring you so much hope to carry on with your travels. ❤️❤️❤️
Two Lovely places!! Bodrum & Kusadasi two big holiday destinations for the irish as well👍. Thank you Both for taking us with you. I wish you Both a Very Merry Christmas🎄⛄ & an Absolutely Brilliant New Year 2021.🎉🎊🎆.
I think I will have to stop watching your videos because I go through different emotions when I watch you guys . I feel happy that at least someone is having good time in this pandemic . I feel sad that I can't go to my favourite holiday destination and my hands itches to book a flight to Turkey . sometimes I feel that you guys love Turkey so much and you are not going to go anywhere after Turkey and retire just there . Lol . Anyway Have a great and safe Christmas at the beach . Love from Leicester
Guiness = Greatness 🍻 😋😉 Delicious! Fridge door and then the roof vent?? 😱 I worked with someone who was a flight instructor who would say, "It's not a checklist, it's a do-list." I could judge if only I hadn't done the exact same thing in my bus at work once! 😬😆😆 One thing for sure, you two earned top marks for your park-up spots in this episode. Wowsers!!! So beautiful! 😎👍
Weather looks lovely 😎 sat here looking at our van on the drive can’t wait to get away in our van but it looks like spring now with all the new restrictions in place in the uk 🥲it will be extra special when we all get our freedoms back can’t wait 😎👍
Thank you so much for taking us all on your journey, it's so good to see sunshine and the sea, it helps take us away from all the crap going on here. Now they've decided to invent Tier 4??? so we can't even go out 😣 well luckily I can as I'm still working flat out. Can't wait for the next escape to Turkey. 😎😘 x
Ah so good to see you guys out and about still. The water there is so beautiful! We’ve missed the “oh you’re still there” lately! Thank you guys be safe! 🤙
Hi Marianne and Chris me and my husband watched your last episode in turkey last night . We were worry about you going back to England because of the new virus I think you guys better stay there for now is mor safe any way we love ❤️ you happy holidays and thank you 🙏
Awesome! Thank you! We are keeping ourselves up to date with the news, but our intention as it says at the beginning of the video we are waiting in Turkey for the borders East to open and are not planning on returning back to the UK at the moment - we are trying to drive around the world !! woo hoo
Really enjoyed the video, thank you. Just made me want to jump into that sea even though it would be flipping cold. Lovely to see the return of 'oh, you're still there' Just makes me grin 😄. Safe travels and am looking forward to Wednesdays video already!! 😘
Dee and Dinesh from Leicester. Hi enjoying your videos, if you have time in the Bodrum area do go and visit a couple of villages on the north of the peninsular 30 min drive, (Gumusluk- fishing harbour with archaeology site on a small island you can walk/paddle to, and Yalikavak ( amazing super marina and 2 lovely small beaches - Dodo beach and xuma beach plus lots of mini deserted coves nearby walking distance, ideal for drone footage) we go there 2-3 times a year- my favourite place in Bodrum.
Too late to find this channel ... You've missed a lot of fun with Chris and Marianne in Turkey ... Be clever and watch all episodes before the next new one !!...
Welcome Christina !! And we hope you enjoy the continuing adventures .. you join us as we are attempting to drive around the world in a pandemic !! (obviously it started after we had left home (UK)) But there is lots more to come and as travel bloggers we hope to visit as many countries and share the beauty, friendship and experiences that we have - All videos have subtitles of the country they are filmed in and we hope you share our channel with any friends that love travel too !! woo hoo - Kind regards Marianne xx
26:59 Oh!. yummy!.. yummy!!. that potato you made they call it " Homefries " in America. people have it usually at Breakfast time. enjoy it guys!. you have lots of fun!. take care!.
When my father taught English in Istanbul we never applied for residency. We had a new car in 71 , and at that time new cars from out of Turkey were heavily taxed. So my father decided to play tourist , and every couple months or so we’d drive to Greece to spend a weekend, just so they thought we were tourists . We didn’t have to pay the tax .
A few years ago the law changed. Before that Turks do the same. Even some Turks those have relatives in Bulgaria buy two cars from EU, use one of it for 6 months in Turkey than go Bulgaria change cars for a second 6 months to avoid import taxes.
About the "GREATNESS" ad at the pub... In Turkey, including all kinds of beer, advertisement is not allowed for any kind of alcohol products. No bottles, no names, nothing. So, people use the font of the brand with slogans reminding of the brand as well. So, that is indeed a Guinness ad. Even the local brand efes uses only the shade of blue and a snowflake made out of its iconic bottle shape we call "tombul" (chabby) as the icon of places that sell the brand.
Merry Christmas guys 😁🌲. Our original plan was to celebrate Christmas in Las Vegas in a RV this year, but this pandemic put a stop to that. So celebrating Christmas at home, but are planning a trip to the North Cape in January. Happy holidays from Norway 😁🌲
Happy holidays to you two too xx Yes and maybe we will finally meet up on the road next year .... or the year after ? We have said that when we get to LV we will renew our wedding vows ... it might be an excuse to come over LOL ... best wishes and love to you both xx
Beautiful - and in December wow what lovely weather. Bodrum is stunning. Hearing your update made me feel a little sad as we’ve just entered tier 4 and for how long we don’t know. Europe now put a block on UK travel so borders closed - there’s a new variant of the COVID virus which they say is 70% more transmissible that’s why Christmas plan for a lot of people has gone out of the window. I think God was looking down on you two when you entered Turkey when you did. You’re safer where you are and what a beautiful place to spend Christmas with people who are so so lovely. Take care 🙏🙏🙏 hopefully all will be well in the world soon xxx
Hi Pelin - it is a really tough time and we are really hoping for everyone to have a much better year next year ... But we will get through this and the world will return to a new normal - we hope to be part of the positive solution and share some light - kind regards Marianne
Hi me & my partner are going to marmaris on holiday in June & hopefully going to go and see the Ephesus my name is Kevin we love your your program thanks so much cheers 👍
I love Kuşadası very much. My late grandmother was from here. The beach was a cemetery a hundred years ago! (Peloponnese Cemetery) It was once a small coastal town. They had come to Kusadasi from the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. My mother's family is from Mora, my father's family is from Langaza, Thessaloniki. We are children of immigrants. You are also considered as an immigrant due to the Pandemic :))
Hey guys ! Great video. On your travels through Turkey PLEASE visit ORHANIYE & have a look at the MARTI Marina. There are showers, a mini supermarket, restaurant & hotel. Above all BEAUTIFUL views !! Please go and look if you can. Safe travels !
Hi folks, your just a short boat trip away from my favourite holiday destination of the Greek island of Kos, sorry to your Turkish follower's, a very merry Christmas to you both and a happy and healthy new year, safe travels 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great vlog guy’s , spag Bol Chris my favourite also. Brought up on it, when you have any left we use to make fritard. Just mix it with a couple of eggs depending how much is left fry it off absolutely delicious way to eat your left overs. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Years ago, there was the British Mac Andrews&Forbes Licorice Root Factory in Söke. The best Licorice Root in the world grows here. From here it goes to Izmir, where it is processed, from there to England and the whole world.

Hello Friends I live at the city you have visited, Kuşadası! It is a pity I didn't see you, I used to go to the sea side every day! and walking all the way you did it! Bodrum is a nice small city, enjoy it! Very nive video!
Didim was known as the place that had over 8000+ "older single or divorced British ladies" that had married or were living with much younger Turkish and Kirdish men. Pleased you are still making progress. Take care 💙❤️👍
I Didim know that !! (did you see what I did there !!) wowsers ... A lot of places are famous / known for many things ... but this is a first for me LOL - thanks Marianne
Marshall!ah! You went to Kusadasi! ( sounds like kushadasah)it translates to bird (kush) island(adasi).. isn't that boardwalk the best.. so many nice times sitting on the bench and watching people and the boats. on to Didim, several years ago the population was split 1/2n1/2 of Brits and Turks... it is more Syrians and Kurds now.. and the huge beautiful beach has been transformed since my first visit in 1996. progress?? Bodrum is nice, food good and big bucks! yachts are $$$..I am so enjoying traveling along with you.. Does Maryanne do all the driving? wow! safe travels! v
Yes it has been a great trip ... we are near Daylan now .... Yes I do most of the driving and especially on this trip as Chris does all the filming editing and I love driving ... woo hoo
Seksen ve doksankarda didim sessiz koyları ve yerel halkı ile harika bir yerdi kürtler gelene kadar ve şimdide suriyeli işgalinden söz etmek çok üzücü .
4:10 Hello!. didn't you know that thousands of British people living in those regions!. city of DIDIM has thousands of British people residing. enjoy your trip!. take care!.
This might sound like a broken record, but here we go again. My 3 month trip to Portugal, cancelled. Trying to stay positive is becoming trying. Stay safe!
Sorry to hear that - You have certainly been through the mill 🙄😢 But having enjoyed some quality time with you at the duck ... I know you have got this ... sending love and best wishes for a much better 2021 (for everyone !!) Marianne xx
Love Didim....my husband’s sister has a summer home there so when we visit Turkey I like Didim cause they speak English.....some Brits ask me what state in the US am I from????? Happy for the vaccine !!!
US and CA will be nice for me. In three years when i get retired i made a year roundtrip with my Transit Connect thru US and CA :-) So i can see how it works.
Hi there I've been watching your videos for some time and in one of the videos you mentioned what you use to edit your videos. Please could you let me know as I can't find the video? 😀
Yes I did we went on Friday before the curfew and we spent the weekend on the long road next to the marina .... by the beach ... lovely quiet spot - woo hoo
*He-) He-) He-) Good old English Breakfast ... Get some SUCUK for black pudding = same taste, sausages may be a bit different but better than what you have in UK*
We will miss you 🤧
why can't you get vaccinated there? If you get to California, you'll see that it looks like the coastlines of Turkey.
Maybe 28 mins is too long. 12-15mins is long enough. But if the stats say people are watching it to the end what do I know. I didn't though. Good luck with the rest of you travels.
Loved it ...especially our favourite bit at the end
....oh you're still there!! It's catching xx 🥰
you probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown xD

I miss the wonderful scenery in Kusadasi, you’ll always see the bright blue sky and if you’re lucky, you can also enjoy the mesmerizing sunset and sunrise.
Im pretty sure I’m going to have a tear when you finally leave Turkey
Us too !!
We were in Kusadasi in December 2019 - the last time we got to get away. Holiday booked for May to Bodrum now looks like it will be moved to October so enjoy it all as very envious of you both.
Kuşadası: My second home
Bodrum: Always 🖤
Thank you very much for bringing such beauties on your channel .. woohooo 👍🙂
My pleasure 😊
Hi Marianne and Chris :) Kusadasi looks nice...another great find, with great views, and so much to do!! you were talking about the curfews Chris, which is tricky for you, but I guess you heard the news back here in the UK..with another lockdown on Tier 4!!
Dalyan is my favourite place in the world 🌎
Yes we will be there very soon ... unfortunately most things are closed including the Turtle sanctuary ... but we will be filming there for sure 🤗
Don’t forget if Chris is still wanting an Indian curry to check out China Town although it’s packet service only. They have a fb page x
That downhill road when entering Bodrum gave me goosebumps, I'm so homesick :') I hope you had fun there.
Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing these beautiful places and your adventures! And yes.... we are still here! 😆😂😁
Awesome! Thank you! And we will be doing a live chat on the facebook group very soon xx love to you and yours Sonja 💜🌺🙌

Pure culture,
Thank you
Beautiful - and in December wow what lovely weather.
But we will get through this and the world will return to a new normal - we hope to be part of the positive solution and share some light - kind regards Marianne
you should go to "hisarönü" neighborhood in fethiye. It is called "little England" inside.

Years ago, there was the British Mac Andrews&Forbes Licorice Root Factory in Söke. The best Licorice Root in the world grows here. From here it goes to Izmir, where it is processed, from there to England and the whole world.

Didim was known as the place that had over 8000+ "older single or divorced British ladies" that had married or were living with much younger Turkish and Kirdish men. Pleased you are still making progress. Take care 💙❤️👍

Bafa Lake was once a bay connected to the sea by the harbor of Ephesus. Silt filled the area and made it a lake.
Wow - fascinating !!
Hi Marmaris is best place in Turkey ,you should go to Marmaris after Bodrum. We love you🙋♀️😍🌺
Marshall!ah!

*He-) He-) He-) Good old English Breakfast ... Get some SUCUK for black pudding = same taste, sausages may be a bit different but better than what you have in UK*
We have just picked up a couple of sucuk from the market ... and they are so much better than black pudding !! LOL
