Love vintage chanel bags, got a camera bag about 10 years ago for €150!! I also got a maxi from the 90's for about €3000 and as you said the lambskin is so different from what they make today so much more resilient and I'm not that worried of getting scratches.

Last year found a small lambskin single flap bag with a unique curved chevron for under 2k AUD which is about under 1.6k USD . It has that classic burgandy leather lining. It's one of my best scores so far 😊. Love your Chanel vintage bags! Love your jumbo and maxi bags!

I found a Chanel limited edition flap bag from the 90s in beige with two-toned hardware! It has signs of use BUT it’s still absolutely beautiful and I only paid € 1330 for it! Love your collection, especially the red chanel is gorgeous! ❤️
I purchased my Black Cambon Ligne Large Bowler Tote w/Gray CC logo back in 2005. The lining is orange. I still get compliments on it. I also have the Cambon style ballet flats in Black with the Black patent leather CC logo. No regrets! ☺️

I think the risk of getting a fake for vintage is substantially reduced comparing to current ones though ! The current super fakes are said to be spot on

I finally got a pre-loved one from Couture USA for $1,000 a couple of years ago. 110% (if that were mathematically possible) LEGIT. I'm still obsessed with this bag. I don't need it to be "the vibe" or "in" style because I think for myself. That's MY vibe. :D
You can return it if its fake though. Also ebay has some program where they authenticate the bag before you get it and if you later find out its fake the refund you twice the amount you spent. I've never used the service though

On both Ff and TRR You get a certain amount of time to return the bags or small leather goods as long as you don’t take the tags off I’ve had only good experiences and purchased several leather goods from Chanel and Gucci from both those places

I have the clear Chanel bag, too. I bought it in 2007. I put my items in the Black dust bag because I don’t want others to see what’s inside. 😏
