Reading 91 or Monsters of Spex the next day. When Nirvana was still "underground", Kurt was not famous and really happy playing. I don't think you can top those 2 shows in terms of pure energy

This song was never played. As was stated on MTV Unplugged, this is the first album, most people don't own it. He was letting everybody know they were bandwagoners... the real shit, they never heard. It's really hard to believe almost 30 years and ya'll still don't get it. How appropriate here we are now entertain us. I mean the cover of Nevermind was a baby swimming for money... genetics for cash, and that's what his daughter became. Grow up people. This is dumb, EVERYBODY SHOULD GET IT BY NOW.

Two secrets no one asked still: how was Dave managing to works out knots from his hair after a show, and how did he remember the setlist when he never had one by his drumkit
People never notice, but Dave Grohl is the best drummer that I have ever heard ever in my life. He slams the drums I don’t know a drummer that sounds as great as Dave I don’t really like the Foo Fighters or the style. I really love his drumming skills. I hear it every set

Nirvanas aesthetic from start to finish was just perfect in every way. Kurt was amazing at perfecting every detail of his art.
my friend the point that nirvana wanted to make was the inperfection everyone has as a human being. not the perfect hair not the pefect colthes not the perfect notes in a song not perfect nothing.. you cant listen to nirvana and say that everything is perfect because thats how the world works. noone and nothing can be perfetct, espesially if we talk about music like this ...thats the whole point: to be simple and not perfect because you cant (no hate im saying this with love)

Yeah man, they gave ZERO fucks about appearance. That was the whole vibe of the early 90s, coming out of the hair metal years where appearance was everything. I still remember wearing a flannel over a white T-shirt that I drew on with a magic marker, shredded jeans with stains and two different Chuck Taylor shoes to school (one was black, the other was furry leopard). The whole idea was to not give a fuck. It's so odd for folks my age to see kids trying to make it some high-fashion today. Because the whole idea was to kind of look like a disorganized messy junkie. 😄😄

I was referring to the graphic design of the band. The font used for the band and the aesthetic of the albums/singles/even bootlegs. A lot of it was Kurt’s own personal paintings and drawings. Of course the music being the most crucial aspect. I have no idea what you’re alluding to tbh. I’m talking about my personal taste which has nothing to do with people’s “imperfections”, or whatever you’re referring to.

I heard about Nevermind by reading a review in my hometown Sunday paper The Chicago Tribune a few months before moving up to Milwaukee to go to art school. The other record they were raving about was Gish. The next day I bought both.
Once I got to Milwaukee, there were still flyers pasted on the walls of a little punk rock club called “The Unicorn” from a show back in November. It was Nirvana and Soundgarden on the same bill.
And I missed it. They never played a club like that again.
I never saw either of them live. I was that close.

This song has seriously grown on me over the years
Not only did Kurt write some awesome iconic pop songs... but when it came to drop tuning guitar riffs he also wrote some pretty heavy killer riffs.. like Floyd the Barber, Beeswax, and School. Songs like Floyd can almost pass off as like doom or stoner rock.
This is essentially a Melvins song.

Late response but Kurt is known for changing lyrics in live shows. The album version he could very well be saying "shamed"

Here in 2022 and only first heard this song 2 days ago, shot right up there with some of my favourites straight away! I’ve always loved nirvana’s most popular hits from an early age (singing smells like teen spirit on singstar when I was like 7/8) but never really delved into them and listened to full albums, boy am I regretting that now, but in my opinion, good music never ages and it’s never too late to fall in love with a band 🤘
