No matter what she hooked that streak is legendary. I’m as American as it gets and I’m proud of our countries legends but not too proud to admit when I see a truly great horse from another part of the world. Hats off aussies, you’ve got one for the ages.
It's nice to read posts like yours. Don't be fooled by some of the people bagging Winx. It's pure jealousy due to California Chrome, Arrogate and Winx all being the IFHA's World's Top Ranked Horse ahead of the European's for the last 5 years. There are multiple formlines that can be used to support Winx's greatness. 4 years ago Winx easily defeated the European multiple Grp1 winner Highland Reel by a lazy 5 1/2 lengths. She was totally dominant. Highland Reel was good enough to win Ascot's 2 premier middle distance Grp1 races, the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stks and the Prince of Wales's Stks. He was good enough to win the Grp1 Hong Kong Vase twice. He was good enough to run Found to a close margin in Europe's best race the Prix de l'arc de Triomphe before exacting his revenge on the Arc winner when scoring a runaway win in the Breeders Cup Turf. Highland Reel was one of the very best Good/Fast ground horses in the world and Winx toyed with him on Good/Fast ground but yet these ignorant Europeans still try to say she'd be beaten by any number of European horses despite every single one of them that has tried to beat her being proven to be a class below her. She won 33 consecutive races incl. a world record 25 Grp1 races incl. a record 4 WS Cox Plates (the championship race for Aust/NZ). She earned a cool $26.4 million and defeated 78 individual Grp1 winners and was the IFHA's World Top Ranked Turf Horse since 2016 and the World's Top Ranked Horse since 2018.
No doubt she was one of the elite. What's disappointing is that over a period of four years not one other elite horse turned up from within Australia or New Zealand or overseas to take her on.
Here's an interesting comparison Enable vs Winx. Across 2018/2019 Winx ran 11 times in 10 Group one races. The rating of her best opponent in those races ranged from 115-123. Four times there was not a 120 rated horse in the race. Only once in those 11 races were there 2 X 120 rated opponents in the same race. Across 2018/2019 Enable ran 7 times in 6 Group Ones. The rating of her best opponent in those races ranged from 122-128. Enable never ran in a race without a 122 rated horse in it. Four of those seven times there were 2 or more opponents rated 122+ Enable's worst ever opponents were as good as Winxs best ever opponents. No reply needed, Just an observation.

I am 63 and have grown up following racing since I was a child in New Zealand, but never have I been so happy to see a horse win as I did today. I've seen them all, Secretariat Black Caviar, Sunline, Makaby Diva, Cigar, on and on, and none of them could hold a candle to her. Fantastic !
What the Secretariat rated around 20 pounds higher couldn't hold a candle?! At 134 rating, Winx isn't even on the top 100 flat horses of all time. Not even my opinion, check wikipedia........!
Winx u absalutel Super Star. 4 wide and coming from the back as usual. She digs deep and pounces. Loved following her over here in England. She's been on all news channels and our racing prog this morning. I hope she has a long and healthy retirement. Love to see her go to Gallileo what a foal that would be. @@suemaher5282 Snitzel was Champion Australian Stallion last year but he's more renown for injecting speed into his progeny. The last thing we need here in Australia is another speedy 2yo.
@@leedelaney70 I totally agree with u. If she had run in Europe she would have gone to Galileo Frankel Dubawi to name just 3. She would have bred a different type to a sprinter. It's the owners who choose the stallion and they think that's the best for her.
@@suemaher5282 The only logic I can see in sending Winx to Snitzel is they are hoping for a colt who is an early runner. If it wins a Grp1 at either 2yo or 3yo they have themselves a stallion. Snitzel was a Grp1 winning sprinter. His sire was champion stallion Redoute's Choice who was by another champion stallion Danehill. His dam, Snippet's Lass was by Snippets, a multiple Grp1 winner at both 2yo and 3yo so it's speed on speed with both sides of Snitzel's pedigree. Northern Dancer appears in the first 5 generations all both sides of his pedigree so Snitzel is very well bred

Feeling pretty emotional here in England watching this fantastic mare; lord knows how Australian's are feeling about her,! There have been some Racing greats - and everyone will have an opinion on the best of the best - but the record of Winx, the varying distance's she won over and the fact she is beating top class horses going away, hands & heels, surely puts her at the top of the pile....or damned near?!! Absolute Legend!
You do realise with her rating of 134 shes not even on the list of the top 100 flat horses of all time? Check wikipedia. Despite her admirable winning spree, nowhere near the top of the pile, mainly due to the "top class horses" shes been beating never being rated above 125 and the one in this race 115. What you on about?!
Her racing pattern never ensures to get a high rating because she comes from pretty far back everytime she runs. Hugh just does what he needs to do to win. So she will run over the top of 115-120 rated horses and win by a few lengths everytime. So yes a rating of 134 is impressive but as an analyst we all know she can run to a higher rating if the race unfolds that way. But there isn't many 125+ run races in the world these days to run in. And considering she starts her prep at 1400m. Clearly short of her best. Her rating doesn't spike really much at all. But we all know she is definitely capable of running higher than what she has been doing.
Ratings mean very little once a horse gets over 130. She could easily of performed +135. You will never see a more balanced horse with such a high cruising speed with more gears then a road train.
@@alpacino6536 I'd agree that horses that get held up and swoop late would be disadvantaged in general ratings wise but not always. That's not the reason shes not rated higher, it's due to the races shes run in. A horse like Sea the Stars was similar in that he'd win by a length or so every time, but then he's rated 140. Reason being he was doing that to other horses rated 130+ consistently in some of worlds best renowned races, and theres lots of races for +125, just not in Aus. Could have gone breeders cup, US, UK, wherever if really wanted to improve rating
@@nathansmith5517 Cruising speed is all relative to who you're runnign against. If Winx had ran against any number of horses in that top 100 of all time list, the "high cruising speed" that she displayed vs terrible opposition would soon be shown to be average in context. For eg, her dawdling along at the back then cruising up very different if you have a Shergar, Frankel, Secretariat up front compared with Happy Clapper/Hartnell, it's all relative

@@clivesangster7274 Frankel was a champion no doubt about it but it's very debateable that Frankel was the best ever. Which great miler did he beat ? Excelebration was vastly overrated. Solow was better performed than Excelebration, who went to the USA and finished midfield at the Breeders Cup. So it's fair to say Excelebration was no superstar. He was your average Group 1 winner. That's why Frankel was dominant against him. Frankel's best performance was in the Juddmonte. Best ever off the back of 1 performance at 10f ? Not for me. Cirrus Des Aigles ran him to less than 2 lengths in the Champion Stakes. Cirrus Des Aigles was a good horse on his day but was also inconsistent. It should be noted Aussie horse Criterion raced against Cirrus Des Aigles twice and twice beat him home and he couldn't get near Winx. Winx would have had a hard time being dominant against Phar Lap, Tulloch or Kingston Town. Sure she would have won her fair share but so would have the others, in my opinion. I don't think anybody can definitively say Frankel was better than Brigadier Gerrard and I don't care what Timeform says. Their ratings are bogus
I am 63 and she is the best I have ever seen. Ive grown up with all the greats since I was a kid, I knew the trainer of Sunline, but she is the best. Never have I seen a horse with so much power when he says go. A champion

An astonishing long record of wins, most at the highest level. Any criticism from people here in Britain of this wonderful race mare is misguided. She never came over here, but I didn’t notice Enable going over to Oz, which is a shame as over 10 furlongs it would have been some race. By Frankel out of Winx has quite an interesting ring to it, especially as Galileo seems to be a sire past his best. God only knows how much such a yearling might fetch at public auction.
Winx will forever be the champion of the australian turf but a world champion she will never be, im sorry had to say that because who has she really beaten besides 2nd rate aussie horses who have probably raced her a thousand times and lost, shes never been to hong kong, England or the united states, horses like black caviar, Sunline, Bonecrusher all won big races in Japan, Hong kong and England. But I take my hat off to winx for her record for being undefeated 33 wins straight well done girl thanks for the memories.
I'm sorry but you don't know what you are talking about Bonecrusher can never be mentioned in the same breath as Winx. Bonecrusher never won any race in Hong Kong, England or Japan and it wouldn't matter if he did. Australian racing is much stronger than Hong Kong anyway. Hong Kong racing is full of Australian bred horses. Almost every champion they've ever had there is Australian bred. Look how effortlessly Winx beat Benbatl in last year's Cox Plate then cast your mind back to last year's Dubai Turf where Benbatl gave Vivlos a hiding and then just 2 weeks ago Vivlos was a closing 1 1/4 length 2nd to the Japanese star Almond Eye. It's impossible to say Vivlos improved as she WON that race the year before Benbatl beat her. Where does that place Winx in relation to Almond Eye ? It's not hard to work out. She destroyed Highland Reel in another Cox Plate and he would then win the best open class mile 1/2 Group 1 race in the UK, the best 10f Group 1 at Europe's premier meeting, run a close up 2nd in the Arc behind Found before handing Found it's arse at the Breeders Cup. In another Cox Plate she destroyed Hartnell 8 lengths when he was at the peak of his powers and a IFHA World Top 10 Ranked horse after he gave Jameka a thorough touch up in the Turnbull Stakes. Jameka would win the Caulfield Cup just as easily at her next start defeating Scottish who would then go back to Europe and get beaten 3 lengths by Highland Reel and only just over a length behind Ulysses, who would then win the Juddmonte International and place in the Arc .Of course Hartnell went to the Cox Plate after dispatching Jameka with a minimum of fuss and in a race where many experts tipped Hartnell to win he ran well to finish 2nd however a record 8 lengths in front was none other than the champion Winx. It's pretty easy to see where Winx stands against all those horses

In adding i backed Winx in his First Cox plate at 6-1, and as soon as the markets open up for the second ,of her 4th Cox plate at 4-1 and her third at 3-1 and her fourth, i never backed her for the price was to short. Winx is a freak of nature and i spotted that after her first win of her 33 streak. Ive been gambling on horses for a long time without muck to gain ,but Winx is the only horse,I did well on spotting ,very early. In fairness maybe i should have worded my sentence, a little bit better.
Correction to my previous statement... I listed Zenyatta, Rachel, Black Caviar...and then I listed Silver Charm, although he was a superstar, he was a he. My mistake I was thinking of Winning Colors but Silver Charm came out. Then I thought Personal Ensign, Go For Wand...awe forget it. WINX will stand alone on her own throne.

Quite amazing how she turned around that bend 4-5 wide and maintained the distance while the rest were cutting the corner and then she really opens up. Phenomenal. I would have loved to have seen her race Frankel. I think Frankel would have got her, but only just.
Love the Poms. They call Frankel the best ever. Short career beat very little. Never left Newmarket area. Frankel never got within 4 seconds of Winx over 1600. Winx was rarely touched with the whip and like Zenyatta came from behind. Horses that race near the lead always look better than they are. Winx has been waiting for three long years for a challenger from Europe. Wonder why they never came. ????????????????????????. .
Anne I'm not sure why you keep trying to compare times between Winx and Frankel. It's a futile exercise as the UK tracks are generally undulating and Australian tracks are not then of course the ground conditions are generally softer in the UK. Same course same track condition comparing times has SOME merit once other variables are factored in however these variables also mean race times are not an absolute measure of a horse's ability.
Frankel as u know was trained by the Genius Henry Cecil.. Frankel was his last horse. If Henry had of been in 100% gd health I'm sure the horse would have travelled. Henry Cecils record shows that. I personally think that Frankel kept him going. He died not long after Frankel retired. There's not a racegoer in England who doesn't miss Henry Cecil. Susan Mahet

@chris sanvo Well of course Frankel only won 9 group 1's, he was retired like any other superstar colt. Have you not noticed the similarity with Winx, Black Caviar, Zenyetta and other Win streaks spanning years? They are all Mares with low breeding value! Every good colt in history was retired early. As a local example, the Autumn Sun just been retired as a 4 year old.
Frankel was a great horse , short career, beat very little. Won most races from the front.Easy to look good from the front. Winx came from the back like Zenyatta. Only had to beat the lead horse. Hardly ever touched with the whip. Winx has been waiting for three years for a colt to come out from Europe and challenge her. Never came . I wonder why????????????????????????????????????

Winx record is unbelievable and you have to tip your hat to her and connections. That said, some people seem to forget the level of consistently poor opposition. In this case, a punched out two length victory over Klugar, form figs 72898442 and rated 115.
Are you even being remotely serious ? How convenient you point out her 43rd and LAST CAREER START as a 7yo mare as evidence of "consistently poor opposition". Why didn't you mention the King George, Prince of Wales Stks, Hong Kong Vase (twice) and Breeders Cup winner and Arc runner up Highland Reel ? Why are people here getting excited about her beating a horse rated 115? I’ve also heard “she’s never even seen the whip!!” Well unless they are blind she has been hit in her last 3 races not to mention this race in the video at 1/20 odds and she’s been beaten 5 times so countless whips in there. That’s fine but whyrewrite history and pretend she’s never seen a whip? Reality is her win streak is unreal and a huge achievement, but she’s never raced against anyone rated over 125 so people seriously trying to compare her to horses rated 140/145+ are only fooling themselves. You won’t get anyone impartial, who isn’t Australian who would put her even in th best 50 racehorses of all time so case closed really.

Horses who've won back to back Arc's, triple crown winners, spectacular derby/guineas/royal Ascot winners have already "beaten her record" as these are races she wouldn't have been able to win. These are genuine world renowned group one races with worldwide respect and a history roll of honour, not some tinpot race in Australia you've called a group one that nobody outside Aus cares about. You might think that's harsh but I don't care, it's the reality. Why do you think the big owners don't send their horses over for these "massive" races with huge money? Why do you think you keep having these "wonder" horses who win 30 on the bounce? Two reasons, firstly because the racing there is garbage and secondly they are female horses who have limited breeding value so they keep racing them, like Zenyetta, like Black Caviar, spotting any similarities here? They are all female! You will never have a top Elite level colt racing past 5 years old maximum, most not further than 4. Come back to me when Winx is even in the top 50 flat horses of all time list from any reputable agency. I've given you a 50 place head start as even wikipedia will tell you shes not in the top 100! How good are the other horses in the race? Has Winx raced the best, or are there horses in other countries, such as the US or the UK, that could beat her? Could she have won a Melbourne Cup or a similar major race in another country? Is this like an Australian runner only racing other Australians/Kiwis? Has she really been tested fully?...
Dont know who frankel is and I dont care never heard of him, all im saying is that winx should of been tested especially winning these races in oz so easily. She was up against moderate horses but not a champion. She had the money to travel and cater for her needs but I dont think they didnt want to risk her getting hurt or getting beaten. If I had a horse that was winning like winx id be the first one to take her overseas and see how truly great she is. 33 races 4 cox plates and many other big races in oz shes won you cant take that away from her shes a champ but only in the ozzies eyes, never around the world. But I have alot of respect for winx for her speed and power maybe we will never know but those 2 factors who knows she would of been a world champion. But hey winx will always be remembered for her record but not for who she beat.

Not worried by your opinion of Winx, Daz but it's a real concern when the British desecrate their language. Obey the rules of punctuation and you will maintain the grace and dignity of written English. There's no excuse for laziness. One simple rule, use a capital for proper nouns and courtesy titles.

Here's an interesting comparison Enable vs Winx.
Across 2018/2019 Winx ran 11 times in 10 Group one races.
The rating of her best opponent in those races ranged from 115-123.
Four times there was not a 120 rated horse in the race.
Only once in those 11 races were there 2 X 120 rated opponents in the same race.
Across 2018/2019 Enable ran 7 times in 6 Group Ones.
The rating of her best opponent in those races ranged from 122-128.
Enable never ran in a race without a 122 rated horse in it.
Four of those seven times there were 2 or more opponents rated 122+
Enable's worst ever opponents were as good as Winxs best ever opponents.

I am 63 and have grown up following racing since I was a child in New Zealand, but never have I been so happy to see a horse win as I did today. I've seen them all, Secretariat Black Caviar, Sunline, Makaby Diva, Cigar, on and on, and none of them could hold a candle to her. Fantastic !
What the Secretariat rated around 20 pounds higher couldn't hold a candle?! At 134 rating, Winx isn't even on the top 100 flat horses of all time. Not even my opinion, check wikipedia........!

@@suemaher5282 The only logic I can see in sending Winx to Snitzel is they are hoping for a colt who is an early runner. If it wins a Grp1 at either 2yo or 3yo they have themselves a stallion. Snitzel was a Grp1 winning sprinter. His sire was champion stallion Redoute's Choice who was by another champion stallion Danehill. His dam, Snippet's Lass was by Snippets, a multiple Grp1 winner at both 2yo and 3yo so it's speed on speed with both sides of Snitzel's pedigree. Northern Dancer appears in the first 5 generations all both sides of his pedigree so Snitzel is very well bred

There have been some Racing greats - and everyone will have an opinion on the best of the best - but the record of Winx, the varying distance's she won over and the fact she is beating top class horses going away, hands & heels, surely puts her at the top of the pile....or damned near?!! You do realise with her rating of 134 shes not even on the list of the top 100 flat horses of all time? Check wikipedia. Despite her admirable winning spree, nowhere near the top of the pile, mainly due to the "top class horses" shes been beating never being rated above 125 and the one in this race 115. What you on about?!
Her racing pattern never ensures to get a high rating because she comes from pretty far back everytime she runs. Hugh just does what he needs to do to win. So she will run over the top of 115-120 rated horses and win by a few lengths everytime. So yes a rating of 134 is impressive but as an analyst we all know she can run to a higher rating if the race unfolds that way. But there isn't many 125+ run races in the world these days to run in. And considering she starts her prep at 1400m. Clearly short of her best. Her rating doesn't spike really much at all. But we all know she is definitely capable of running higher than what she has been doing.
Ratings mean very little once a horse gets over 130. She could easily of performed +135. You will never see a more balanced horse with such a high cruising speed with more gears then a road train.
@@alpacino6536 I'd agree that horses that get held up and swoop late would be disadvantaged in general ratings wise but not always. That's not the reason shes not rated higher, it's due to the races shes run in. A horse like Sea the Stars was similar in that he'd win by a length or so every time, but then he's rated 140. Reason being he was doing that to other horses rated 130+ consistently in some of worlds best renowned races, and theres lots of races for +125, just not in Aus. Could have gone breeders cup, US, UK, wherever if really wanted to improve rating

If Winx had ran against any number of horses in that top 100 of all time list, the "high cruising speed" that she displayed vs terrible opposition would soon be shown to be average in context. For eg, her dawdling along at the back then cruising up very different if you have a Shergar, Frankel, Secretariat up front compared with Happy Clapper/Hartnell, it's all relative

Solow was better performed than Excelebration, who went to the USA and finished midfield at the Breeders Cup. So it's fair to say Excelebration was no superstar. He was your average Group 1 winner. That's why Frankel was dominant against him. Frankel's best performance was in the Juddmonte. Best ever off the back of 1 performance at 10f ? Not for me. Cirrus Des Aigles ran him to less than 2 lengths in the Champion Stakes. Cirrus Des Aigles was a good horse on his day but was also inconsistent. It should be noted Aussie horse Criterion raced against Cirrus Des Aigles twice and twice beat him home and he couldn't get near Winx. Winx would have had a hard time being dominant against Phar Lap, Tulloch or Kingston Town. Sure she would have won her fair share but so would have the others, in my opinion. I don't think anybody can definitively say Frankel was better than Brigadier Gerrard and I don't care what Timeform says. Their ratings are bogus
I am 63 and she is the best I have ever seen. Ive grown up with all the greats since I was a kid, I knew the trainer of Sunline, but she is the best. Never have I seen a horse with so much power when he says go. A champion

Any criticism from people here in Britain of this wonderful race mare is misguided. She never came over here, but I didn’t notice Enable going over to Oz, which is a shame as over 10 furlongs it would have been some race.
By Frankel out of Winx has quite an interesting ring to it, especially as Galileo seems to be a sire past his best. God only knows how much such a yearling might fetch at public auction.
marcia higson probably lots, but as you may know, the chances of the offspring justifying its price on the track is quite slim.

Winx will forever be the champion of the australian turf but a world champion she will never be, im sorry had to say that because who has she really beaten besides 2nd rate aussie horses who have probably raced her a thousand times and lost, shes never been to hong kong, England or the united states, horses like black caviar, Sunline, Bonecrusher all won big races in Japan, Hong kong and England. But I take my hat off to winx for her record for being undefeated 33 wins straight well done girl thanks for the memories.
I'm sorry but you don't know what you are talking about Bonecrusher can never be mentioned in the same breath as Winx. Bonecrusher never won any race in Hong Kong, England or Japan and it wouldn't matter if he did. Australian racing is much stronger than Hong Kong anyway. Hong Kong racing is full of Australian bred horses. Almost every champion they've ever had there is Australian bred. Look how effortlessly Winx beat Benbatl in last year's Cox Plate then cast your mind back to last year's Dubai Turf where Benbatl gave Vivlos a hiding and then just 2 weeks ago Vivlos was a closing 1 1/4 length 2nd to the Japanese star Almond Eye. It's impossible to say Vivlos improved as she WON that race the year before Benbatl beat her. Where does that place Winx in relation to Almond Eye ? It's not hard to work out. She destroyed Highland Reel in another Cox Plate and he would then win the best open class mile 1/2 Group 1 race in the UK, the best 10f Group 1 at Europe's premier meeting, run a close up 2nd in the Arc behind Found before handing Found it's arse at the Breeders Cup. In another Cox Plate she destroyed Hartnell 8 lengths when he was at the peak of his powers and a IFHA World Top 10 Ranked horse after he gave Jameka a thorough touch up in the Turnbull Stakes. Jameka would win the Caulfield Cup just as easily at her next start defeating Scottish who would then go back to Europe and get beaten 3 lengths by Highland Reel and only just over a length behind Ulysses, who would then win the Juddmonte International and place in the Arc .Of course Hartnell went to the Cox Plate after dispatching Jameka with a minimum of fuss and in a race where many experts tipped Hartnell to win he ran well to finish 2nd however a record 8 lengths in front was none other than the champion Winx. It's pretty easy to see where Winx stands against all those horses

In adding i backed Winx in his First Cox plate at 6-1, and as soon as the markets open up for the second ,of her 4th Cox plate at 4-1 and her third at 3-1 and her fourth, i never backed her for the price was to short.
Winx is a freak of nature and i spotted that after her first win of her 33 streak.
Ive been gambling on horses for a long time without muck to gain ,but Winx is the only horse,I did well on spotting ,very early. In fairness maybe i should have worded my sentence, a little bit better.

Quite amazing how she turned around that bend 4-5 wide and maintained the distance while the rest were cutting the corner and then she really opens up. Phenomenal. I would have loved to have seen her race Frankel. I think Frankel would have got her, but only just.

Anne I'm not sure why you keep trying to compare times between Winx and Frankel. It's a futile exercise as the UK tracks are generally undulating and Australian tracks are not then of course the ground conditions are generally softer in the UK. Same course same track condition comparing times has SOME merit once other variables are factored in however these variables also mean race times are not an absolute measure of a horse's ability.
Frankel as u know was trained by the Genius Henry Cecil.. Frankel was his last horse. If Henry had of been in 100% gd health I'm sure the horse would have travelled. Henry Cecils record shows that. I personally think that Frankel kept him going. He died not long after Frankel retired. There's not a racegoer in England who doesn't miss Henry Cecil. Susan Mahet

@chris sanvo Well of course Frankel only won 9 group 1's, he was retired like any other superstar colt. Have you not noticed the similarity with Winx, Black Caviar, Zenyetta and other Win streaks spanning years? They are all Mares with low breeding value! Every good colt in history was retired early. As a local example, the Autumn Sun just been retired as a 4 year old.
Frankel was a great horse , short career, beat very little. Won most races from the front.Easy to look good from the front.
Winx came from the back like Zenyatta. Only had to beat the lead horse. Hardly ever touched with the whip.

Why didn't you mention the King George, Prince of Wales Stks, Hong Kong Vase (twice) and Breeders Cup winner and Arc runner up Highland Reel ? Why are people here getting excited about her beating a horse rated 115? I’ve also heard “she’s never even seen the whip!!” Well unless they are blind she has been hit in her last 3 races not to mention this race in the video at 1/20 odds and she’s been beaten 5 times so countless whips in there. That’s fine but whyrewrite history and pretend she’s never seen a whip? Reality is her win streak is unreal and a huge achievement, but she’s never raced against anyone rated over 125 so people seriously trying to compare her to horses rated 140/145+ are only fooling themselves. How good are the other horses in the race? Has Winx raced the best, or are there horses in other countries, such as the US or the UK, that could beat her? Could she have won a Melbourne Cup or a similar major race in another country? Is this like an Australian runner only racing other Australians/Kiwis? Has she really been tested fully?...

Dont know who frankel is and I dont care never heard of him, all im saying is that winx should of been tested especially winning these races in oz so easily. She was up against moderate horses but not a champion. She had the money to travel and cater for her needs but I dont think they didnt want to risk her getting hurt or getting beaten. If I had a horse that was winning like winx id be the first one to take her overseas and see how truly great she is. 33 races 4 cox plates and many other big races in oz shes won you cant take that away from her shes a champ but only in the ozzies eyes, never around the world. But I have alot of respect for winx for her speed and power maybe we will never know but those 2 factors who knows she would of been a world champion. Jameka would win the Caulfield Cup just as easily at her next start defeating Scottish who would then go back to Europe and get beaten 3 lengths by Highland Reel and only just over a length behind Ulysses, who would then win the Juddmonte International and place in the Arc .Of course Hartnell went to the Cox Plate after dispatching Jameka with a minimum of fuss and in a race where many experts tipped Hartnell to win he ran well to finish 2nd however a record 8 lengths in front was none other than the champion Winx. It's pretty easy to see where Winx stands against all those horses so judge her on her body of work not on this one race or even on this farewell prep. Just remember she ended her career with an unbroken winning sequence of 33. I'll defy any doubter to try and tip 33 consecutive placegetters and I'll bet anything they can't, let alone 33 consecutive winners. What Winx was able to achieve is likely never to be repeated.

Not worried by your opinion of Winx, Daz but it's a real concern when the British desecrate their language. Obey the rules of punctuation and you will maintain the grace and dignity of written English. There's no excuse for laziness. One simple rule, use a capital for proper nouns and courtesy titles.

@chris sanvo It's not hard Chris. The top 100 flat horses of all time on Wikipedia starts at 135 rating and Winx only got to 134. One "Pommy" horse thats better (alongside about 50 others in the list) Is Frankel rated number 1. Long way off 117th Chris............!
