He also had the best bracket luck this tournament compared to the rest of the year. He said his Falco was hot and his Fox was cold. How many fox sets did he even have in top 8? Top 16? No Amsa or Hbox.
He went falco for the entire tourney
being out of practice and only having to play his falco to win a tourney is the mango for sure
He beat every top Fox player in the tournament. SFOP, Moky, Leffen, and IBDW. Falco Fox is his best matchup. He got insanely lucky lol

If this really is it for the year, what a crazy one it's been for the overview of this game, it's top players coming out of the online era, and what strides ahead have been made. I know the future is unclear and hazy at the moment, but this community always pulls through. Long live this wonderful game. Melee is sick.

@@dunnofunko8053 Nintendo pulled the plug on the Smash World Tour Finals 2 weeks before they were supposed to happen and people are worried that they'll try to cancel basically every event we try to run unless they sponsor it (which I think is unlikely but they'll still try to fuck with our shit). Yeah, but I'm talking about immediately after the tournament wrap up and not just one commentator. Think how the Summit interviews players after their matches and you have 3 to 4 commentators on the couch. A similar format to that but reviewing the highlights from the tournament at the end of day 1, day 2 and day 3 respectively. Sportscenter for Smash.

Cody really was putting in work that set. Man was playing super well, and should definitely be proud of his performance. There's always time to grind for the next tourney.

Like Mango said, they will never kill Melee. I have zero doubt this game will carry on.
That being said, it would be pretty damn poetic for Mango to win the last major on a big stage and not drop a set.

Smash Bros Melee is definitely a product made by accident, not even a year in development, a game so polished yet so flawed in the best way possible, with content all over the place, how come none of the smash games that came afterwards were close to this beatiful canvas will always be something that baffles me

Now, we need Zain and Mang0 facing each other in GF of the Lud tourney, and thus the whole plot of this incredible year would be perfect.

I was recommended a 3 year old M2K vs IBDW. It made me realize how much Melee has changed since then. Zain's Marth and M2K's Marth are not the same. Zain def has more technical skills with the pivot tippers etc.. but M2K edge guards are legendary, theres no one who does edge guards like M2K did.

This was the only time in recent memory I was actually cheering against Mango. I was actually wanting IBDW to take this one. I normally don't like ibdw. I got banned from a tournament twitch stream because I was dogging on cody too hard once (I did go to far not knowing his history). But this was the one time I wanted the melee plot armor to take over. But Mango winning is always dope he is our GOAT.

Every top player, needs those tourneys were the sweep the lower ranked players. Helps show that their skill translates well across different levels of "skill"
cody needs to have weekly practice sessions with mango like zain did. hes good enough to beat him, he just needs to get over internal fears facing someone whose had such a dominant run over you has. Hes done it against everyone else except mango and i dont think anything but weekly play time can get him past this mental block. Dude would literally be number 1 if mang didnt compete this year
