From the Cyberpunk 2077 bench you did and the beefy hardware upgrades on the 5090 over the 4090, I think they haven't yet worked out everything on the new architecture for gaming vs data centre. The MCM we've seen AMD have issues with. Yes it isn't as bad as AMD's case but I think this is where machine learning AI can shine sending data back to Nvidia for them to work out the kinks and perfect via updates for the Rasta algorithm to show what it should be performing like
The AIB partners prices will be substantially above Nvidias pricing, and, you know the scalpers smell blood in the water. They are gonna be scooping up everything they can and hawking them on EBAY.
Doing a build and probably going to try and get a used 4090. Might spring for the 5080 but I'm not sure yet. Depends how the secondary market for 4090 reacts

I found your build guides and honest insight very helpful. 2 GPU generations later and I think I will hold out to see what 6000 series has to offer in terms of value. Either that or I'll move to AMD. Glad to see you are still at it and going strong. Keep up the fantastic content mate.
I haven’t built a system since 2016 and I’m budgeting a new system currently and have my eyes set on a 5070 but like you said 12GB of VRAM is ridiculous so at a minimum I would need to get a Ti which means spending even more money 😢
Amazing video and explanation, I’m currently gaming on a 3070 laptop and I’m building my first pc, currently only have the cpu(7800x3d), some fans, msi monitor and a 2tb ssd. My question is should I purchase a 5080 on launch or should I wait and see if the 4090 goes down in price ?
Fun theory because monitors are so boring Nvidia are partnering to make super high refresh monitors a thing to make the power companies even richer lol You'll be happy because you took part in being part of the new shiny thing club and receive nothing.
I 'm concerned that the 50 series improvements might be mostly about frame generation and ai and not too much about hardware improvements so maybe the could have gotten about the same performance with 40 series if they applied the same stuff to that.
So we can’t achieve graphical fidelity with VRAM and clockspeeds alone that we have to rely on AI? I don’t know if this is a scam or if they’re just plain lazy.

Do you realize that 60 FPS x4 = 240 as advertised.... yet past 60 FPS (done with DLSS) the last x3 FPS is from Multi-Frame-Generation? I get the same thing on the 4090 but at 2x: 60 with DLSS x2 = 120 FPS with 1 Frame-Generation. Then again the 5000 series is not for the 4000 user but the 2000 and 3000 ones ;)

You can purchase one now for $2,000, or choose to save $166 per month for a year or $83 per month over two years. However, by the time you've saved up, the GTX 6000 might already be on the market!
So, here's a question about upgrade. I have a 6 Yr old PC, 1660 z390, i5. I'm thinking of getting a better GPU, 3080 but is it more sense to start again? I want lots of vram for AI processing of videos.
I think a lot of people are trivializing how hard it is to Path Trace at 4k. People are complaining about the 27fps without DLSS, forgetting this is with RT Ultra cranked to the max and no upscaling. Then you add upscaling, which EVERYONE is using, because it's basically a requirement, and has been for a long time now, at least with things like RT. Now you're sitting around 60fps, all cranked up to max at 4k. Then you add MFG and Reflex 2. This is where people really split, and get, I think, unreasonably upset, cause everyone else says they should. We need to see how these 2 work together, and what the tolerance threshold is for any artifacting. If the artifacting is tolerable, Reflex basically brute forces responsiveness, which should also extend to AI frames, by monitoring inputs directly and warping the frames to be as up to date as possible, and filling in the blanks as needed. If it can do that with information from the game engine, this can be very good, otherwise you might be better off at 60FPS with everything cranked to the max, or, you know, turn down/off RT and play at max frame rate without RT... Or play 1440p native with RT on? We are still talking about the most powerful GPUs available. That being said, if you're looking in the 70/80 power range, just see what AMD/Intel are offering and buy that, it would hopefully be cheaper for similar performance, but it's not going to outperform a 5080 in just about any benchmark.
I didn’t buy a 4090 to use upscaling I use it to play everything native and maxed setting. I don’t plan on buying a 5090 for fake frames that introduce input lag. That is beneath me

U know they did show the latency difference. I'm not saying I 100% believe them, but they did show it in a video slide thing
Another great video keeps us all in the know how look froward to you testing the games out on the RTX 5090. Keep the video coming.
i'm on the 3080 rn and was hoping to go for the 5080 but im just really underwhelmed right now.
there isn't a rush for me to upgrade as 3080 can run all my games, its more the fact I want to play Crimson Desert and GTA 6 with good graphics but that wont launch for a while. We'll see
Your Perspective is why I have watched your channel for 3 years...cheers, and here's to, 3 more!
I have a 3080 Fe so a 5090 Fe is gonna a be q pretty awesome upgrade regardless of the benchmarks right (with obviously the rest of the pc that takes advantage of the new gpu)?
Which of these new cards could comfortably run in a PC that has a 750W PSU?
what everybody is forgetting about 12gb vram for the 5070 not being enough, is that it is enough if you don't play the very latest AAA high graphical games on extreme ultra settings in 4k. And the fact that people have different budgets.
I live in the US, and I am incredibly mad about these tariffs. What I hope to do is get a 5070 super on the first day they are available so that I can get a good gpu without having a 60% upcharge. I wish there was more info about when these tariffs are expected to start affecting pricing, but I just hope it takes a few weeks
Love your content pc centric you've honestly opened my eyes and because of that I'm dedicating this year to finally move to pc, keep up the good work, live long and prosper
Jenson's next launch will be a Diamond Encrusted Leather Jacket
Stuck with Rx570 and seeing the 5070 budget king of the future😥😥
If your working in AI, are these good for training data sets?
The whole double and tripling from 40-50 series is the multi-frame gen the roar performance figures will probably 25-40 percent.
25% performance for a similar price is pretty good. DLSS4 is a nice bonus.
I dont think I have watched one of your videos since the 3000 series released during COVID. I found your build guides and honest insight very helpful. 2 GPU generations later and I think I will hold out to see what 6000 series has to offer in terms of value. Either that or I'll move to AMD. Glad to see you are still at it and going strong. Keep up the fantastic content mate.
Built a 7800x3d & 7900xtx in May of 2023 not upgrading no time soon, I like when is enough enough?😂
I hate jebsen enough to never buy nvidia again, rather wait on the 8900xt
I haven’t built a system since 2016 and I’m budgeting a new system currently and have my eyes set on a 5070 but like you said 12GB of VRAM is ridiculous so at a minimum I would need to get a Ti which means spending even more money 😢
Last gen is always an option :D
So are the old cards price gonna decrease?
hopefully. Right now, prices are insane.
Fun theory because monitors are so boring Nvidia are partnering to make super high refresh monitors a thing to make the power companies even richer lol
You'll be happy because you took part in being part of the new shiny thing club and receive nothing.
I 'm concerned that the 50 series improvements might be mostly about frame generation and ai and not too much about hardware improvements so maybe the could have gotten about the same performance with 40 series if they applied the same stuff to that.
50 series has gddr7 , pcie5, displayport2.1 , etc there’s plenty of hardware improvements lol.
Anyone on a 40 series card does not need to upgrade, don't fall for it, 30 series sure but not 40 series.
I had a 3070 Ti FE and currently have a 4070 Ti and would have loved to have a FE version, now no 5070 Ti FE makes you wonder why.
Excellent video as per usual.
Dude do you know if skytech will be getting RTX 5000 series I hate the bad FPS from my hp Victus just askin
So we can’t achieve graphical fidelity with VRAM and clockspeeds alone that we have to rely on AI? I don’t know if this is a scam or if they’re just plain lazy.
So I have a 7900 XTX Magnetic Air, Would I benefit getting the 5090 playing games without DlSS 4?
It depends how quickly fsr4 comes to 7000 series, if it ever does.
On the list for a 5080. Fingers crossed
Is there a preorder list?
@scottshriner3586 just the Notify Me on Nvidia's website. Gives a chance at least.
I have a 3070 rn I wanted to upgrade to a 4090 last week but then the 50 series was announced…. What should I do chat? Is the 5090 worth it?
5090 for 2k$. It depends on how much you can get a 4090 for. I think most people would be perfectly happy with a 4090.
you most to make diference between "GPUs Are HERE" and don't have the gpu....
Do you want him to hold it for 13 mins?? Do you think it's impossible to talk about something without having to hold it in frame the entire time?
@@daunted232 you really think he already has it don;t you? hahaha
@@MrBreakthompson I think he got to look and hold it, for the purposes of talking about it in this video, he never claimed to have his own personal card.
@@daunted232 what it is "GPUs Are HERE"????
@ they are available for journalists to look at.
finally time to put to rest the old 1080 ti
I cant do it anymore... I build my "dream rig", every 2 years... Ive realized the hype never matches the results, and my rig still looks F'n awesome every time i walk in the room. Im going to skip 50 series...
"I build my "dream rig", every 2 years " dayum that is a very often lol
Somehow, hardware performance wise, the 5090 is only 15-25% performance increase over the 4090 for $500 more..
(can't use AI Frame Gen in VR)
Lol that sounds like a seizure waiting to happen
Love the honesty.... I guess best thing to do, is just wait until you test them all and it will show the true performance..... who knows Blackwell could have a bit of black magic in the dies.
The clip at 0:15 seconds shows a 5090. The left clip is one without dls and the right with dls 4 on. This is the how much it relies on AI.
and have you looked at a 4090 without dlss, it also gets less than 20fps
@mainlyyogurt hardly a resounding success if this is supposed to set new bench marks as the next Gen.
The days of more raw rasterisation are over. This is the way forward.
These new GPU's are actually very interesting. I feel like everyone needed this new tech making everyone's lives better. I personally will not be upgrading to an Rtx 5090 as I don't game anymore due to new games being complete garbage and not worth my time or money but if a great game comes out that I end up playing A LOT I will then consider upgrading my GPU but I'd then be looking at a 5080.
Anyone want a free 5090? here's what you do:
1) buy Nvidia stock (or AMD, both good)
2) sell stock 6 months later
3) use profit to buy your shiny new 5090
Watched LTT? Cool but shut up about how investments work because you know jack shit. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
@@tunod- I put $60k into Nvidia ~10 months ago. Turned into $80k. Now I have $20,000 profit to play with.
Just ask your bank how to make a Direct Investing account.
@zenon3021 Imagine net profit! You're hilarious. Goodbye
🤷♂
Does best buy do pre orders for gpus?
So are we at a point where GPU’s are maxed out?
If I'm paying for imaginary frames, can I pay with imaginary money?
All frames are imaginary, it's not as if what is being rendered, is a real life 3d scene of aliens firing laser guns.
Alternatively we could imagine buying an RTX 5000 GPU.
12 gigs of vram is pathetic 16+ gigs is the new minimum. My 2080 super with 8 gigs constantly gets maxed out and or the game just crashes.
Now I want a video on which is the best 4K OLED monitor to pair with 5090 video?
Asus rog swift 32”
I have a 7800x3d, is 5080 will make cpu bottle neck?
No, 7800X3D is a top tier CPU, it wont be a bottleneck for awhile
no ur good
if you're gaming in 4k, the GPU will always be the bottleneck
Thank you guys
There's me looking to get back into pc gaming with a 7800xt or a 4070 super. The 50 series can wait 😅
The dlss comparisons seemed very disingenuous in that presentation. Could still see ghosting on the digital foundry multi gen examples so dont have any real interest in 3 or 4x frame gen. Just seems ludicrous now and the pricing is absurd.
So are they not going to release a 5080ti or super? Was gonna get one
I was going to build a pc with rtx 4070 super which cost 600$ from Pny for 1440gaming . Fortunately i haven't done it yet , and now i can buy rtx 5070 at the same price to play in 4k gaming))
Until you get final product benchmarks, I would likely try and get into a lower-priced RTX 4080 Super. You can expect scalpers and shortages until at least the summer, and the jury is still out on how great these will be in real rigs. I have the 4080 Super, it is a great card and happy with it. It's nice to have latest gen, but what are you actually getting for your money?
@ricsim78 take a nap brother, i know it's the best investment for my gpu bc i know how it will look like in terms of performance)
@@F_Crypto Knock yourself out, was trying to give you solid advice. What I get for making a suggestion to a dip. You think you will get this quickly at MSRP? Lol!!!!
@@ricsim78 Real LOL is in price and performance , not in time .
people are angry , because of DLSS 4 A.I , but the this is the future.
How much, if any, faster will the ddr7 vram be over the ddr6?
Will 40 series come down?
I feel they’d stay the same you know!
That USD to GBP seems off...?
PLEEEEASE do VR ingame fps comparisons for e.g. MS flight sim, not many channels do this.
That is beneath me
@12ozMousee the 5090 is more powerful than the 4090 without fake frames. Your outrage is silly.
Finally, someone who stands apart from the complaining crowd.
Australian pricing is really all about bending over, dropping your pants and just waiting for Jensen to enter.
If you stare straight at the gleaming jacket you'll be dazzled in a good way and thank him afterwards.
Jensen enters, followed by another three AI Jensens thanks to the new Upshafting-4 tech.
Australian price = US Market Price (not recommended 2K) + 20% and plus 4% for currency conversion is best case scenario
im worried about that these graph can't run the game raw
They sure can since the older cards could too, just not with path tracing and everything on max at 4k
im just curious on how Ai will work, in gaming and editing. i'm
hoping i can snatch a 5090-5080 founder edition!
250fps and the same latency as 60 🙄 its just.......disappointing
Only thing makes me happy with this RTX 50 release older gen cards would get cheaper.
