    Another great review by MXA with all the details - thanks Josh! Can the KYB forks and shock be made plush and supple (for slower/lighter riders) by just opening up the clickers (like on a '22 YZ250F)? Is the '22 YZ125 engine low end/initial throttle response similar/better/worse than a '22 KTM 125SX? Surprising the the stock jetting is so far off as Yamaha is usually spot on when it comes to jetting. Did Yamaha utilize their US testers to confirm the final jetting and suspension settings on the '22 YZ125?

      In my experience Yamaha stock jetting is terrible. My YZ250X was so rich it would blubber and foul plugs. I had to go down SEVERAL sizes on the main and 2 sizes on the pilot to get it right. When they're right, they are awesome, but I wouldn't say they are anywhere near close stock.

      @@EarthSurferUSA No I did not leave the needle alone lol. I didn't mention it, because I've been through several needles to get it perfect. The stock needle works okay-ish, it just needs to be dropped a couple positions. Thanks for assuming though lol.

    Hi, great review MXA
    Yamaha is a great engine, it’s just a shame because after all the changes they made with 2022, they only gained 1hp. I expected more from Japanese engineers. I’m afraid the yz125 still can’t compete with KTM in racing because there’s a lot to change to get same horses like stock KTM.
    In Europe, you can buy a RESONIK kit for Yamaha, which can easy overtake stock KTM, we tested it.
    MXA should make a comparison between YZ125 with RESONIK kit against Pro Circuit SX / TC125

      Stock doesn't matter.

    • @makulaboy
      @makulaboy 2 года назад

      @@derrickzenner9300 It does, because of extra time to get tuned motor back on track. With a Yamaha on the sand it’s hard to compete with the KTM, because there you need power. You can not get such power from Yamaha although it is ported, due to the design of the cylinder ports.
      With Resonik kit, you get extra 9HP and it is plug&play, so you save time an you can do it by yourself. Time in my opinion is most important, because it's hard to wait 1 month to get bike from your tunner, which still has les power than lightly modified SX125.

    75 on the pilot is massive we are in Australia and have come back to a 52 in the pilot and 172 on the main 35 pj .nycf 2nd clip ...stock we are 62 on the pilot which seemed to a big problem of being lazy on the hit

      Any update to the jetting over there? What’s the temp and altitude… stock head I tried 68 pilot, nydf-2 or nyef-3, 158 main and got much better results. Just put an apex head on, they recommend 45-48 pilot, nycf3, 172 main for less than 1000ft altitude and 50-70 degrees F

    Man.... those plastics give out fast, don't they? I can see the '21 gas tank and radiator shrouds are faded and scratched already. I know MXA thrashing them probably doesn't help either LOL!

      Nah 72 pilot, 62 main, NYEF second position, air screw 1.5 - 2.5 out. Should be good for 60-100 degrees. With minor tweaking I'd air screw. In winter I go to a 75 main and/or lower the clip one position.
