Your voice captives my ❤❤❤. Thank you very much 😍😍😍. It took me a day to read a 50 _page chapter in my textbook, and struggled to remember what i had read. But after watching your video, everything came clear to me ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad this is working, which is what I had hoped for. Feel free to share more examples for the topic, especially for any non-English language you may speak.
Thanks for your clear explanation. May I add that as a native Spanish speaker I can also tell you that the word "oscuro" has another extra change but I'm not sure if it is elision or assimilation (or something else). The thing is that the letter S in many Latin American countries is most times aspirated. So in this case oscuro, when talking fast becomes "ohcuro". Other examples would be éstas(these)>ehtah, esposa(wife)>ehposa, inglés(English)>ingléh.
Hello professor Thank you so much for your priceless advice and interesting guidance. I really appreciate your job. Could you answer my question please: What is the difference between Elision and Deletion, in terms of Grammar and in terms of meaning. Thank you so much for your help. I wish you peace and happiness under the sky of prosperity. Your Student from Algeria.
Hello, a fellow learner here! I believe that Deletion and Elision refer to the same thing. It was mentioned in the first video of phonological change that Elision is the technical term for Deletion. Hope that this helps :)
The lesson looks somehow difficult, but your way of explaining makes it so easy.
That was so practical thank you!! I’m Persian and that makes me so happy to have examples from Iran .BTW nice pronunciation !!😁👍

d sound of cold is elided and it mixes with the second word.
Thank you: I learned more information about the Elisions.
[nd] → [n] (cluster reduction, elision)
[pp] → [p] (cluster reduction, elision, degemination)
[st] → [s] (cluster reduction, elision)
Thank you sir ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much
Great lesson!!! I have a question...could assimilation and epenthesis happen at the same time? For example in:
Careful: [nukliər]
Casual: [nukjələr]
Thank you so much.
