Short answer to the question in the title: No. Long answer: Crits are just as important to maximizing your damage as it amplifies all sources of damage with some exception (e.g. fixed damage or skills that sets your Crit Rate to zero). Besides, with the only offensive stats for attachments being Atk, Atk%, Crit Rate, and Crit dmg, it's what all DPS will be aiming for anyways. So, don't disregard Crit Rate whatsoever. Additional note: Do not neglect Flat stats because Boosts benefit from having more Flat stats.
Part of the title is exaggerated clickbait, but the gist of it is that unlike genshin, crit value isn't as important in GFL2 although it's still valuable and some dolls benefit more from it than others. Generally speaking, the priority is atk%>atk>crit for your dps.
@@kallusive8986 I'm just summarizing and making a point that the clickbait was completely unnecessary as the video is just as helpful without it. Am I not allowed to do that?
@@christopherjensen3028 I can smell the condescension from here. Well, the title isn't the worst clickbait I've seen but being in all caps and saying something like "ARE CRITS USELESS" sounds very clickbaity. The video is better off without it.
Doing some minor tests, combat buffs scales off your total stat and not just your base stat. Though I don't know if they scale additively or multiplicatively with each other, or with Sabrina's buff. Sabrina's buff does not show on other characters'stats screen, but it very obviously increases their damage and attack. As for ATK% from attacments, keys, etc, they seem to scale off more than just the base stats (ie, character base + weapon), but they don't seem to scale off EVERY +flat ATK. I have no clue what they scale off of. Regardless, not only does Crit Stats scale worse (due to them being harder to get), but Attack scale better in this game than in games like Genshin/WuWa. Still, if you can manage to get enough Crit stats somehow, they will probably overtake the Attack stat eventually. Crit scaling is insane once you've hit the sweet spot.
Atk% actually benefits off of additional Flat Atk, and it scales off of all sources of Flat Atk (Doll's base Atk, Weapon, Weapon Attachments, Neural Helix, Affinity, etc.) Since the only offenseive stats for attachments are Atk%, Atk, Crit Rate, and Crit Dmg, it's almost always a good thing to not ignore Crit Rate for the third stat.
@@GenoShion If you have the choice. Given the choice its much better to go for Atk% + Atk then for any combination that has Crit Rate + either of them.
It's simple. Crit is not a very desired stats in this game because the default CritDmg is low at 120% (And cap at 175%). And the only way to boost CritDmg is by rolling it from muzzle attachments, even then the value is not high. The only case where this is an exception is when a character has innate strong Crit and CritDmg stats from their kit or their weapon or buffed by others. For example, for Makiatto, getting a CritDmg in the Muzzle is ideal (Trifecta ATK & CritDmg), becasue of her kit of having default high Crit. Another example, for Tololo, getting Crit in all other attachment is ideal, because her sig weapon has 25% CritDmg boost. When getting your attachments, double combo of ATK & ATK% is mostly enough. While Trifecta/Quadfecta of all ATK & Crit is nice but not exactly necessary. This is actually great for both the players and the game health, as it prevents perfect roll on all attachments from doing miles better than not having them.
Thank you for the information @GuitarRockFirst ! This was extremely useful information for a part of the game that was very poorly explained in the tutorials. :) 👍
I wonder if the game displays crits if it's guaranteed, for example, if you're lucky enough to get a doll to 100% crit rate or if it's guaranteed through their passive or skill.
Shouldn't you at least try the very first roll without the precision resource since at stats get bumped the first calibrate? You might get lucky and get 95%+.
Hm, either got really unlucky or it still rolls the full spread of possible results, but sets the minimum to 100. Given the bar, I wonder what the max is, looks 250~300%
Calibration rolls to 200% max of your base stat roll (white line left of the divider). So you can roll perfect stats but if they're all low roll even with a perfect 200% they'll only go 3/4th of the way to the right. Precision just makes it so it'll never roll below 100% of the base stat. 1 = 1 guaranteed line rolls above 100%. 4 = all 4 line rolls above 100%.
@@phabejmuas Mhm, got the latter half of that, was commenting on the example calibration where three of the four came up 100%. Don't remember if he mentioned it in this one, but saw a video on this saying there were like 5 possible base stat-results when getting the attachment. Haven't seen anyone say if there're set points on the callibration side. Didn't pay close enough attention to see what the results I have seen posted in vids to tell. If the 5-points base-stat thing is real, that's a 1-in-125~(625 for barrel) chance at a perfect base-stat spread. If the callibration results are entirely percentage, then we're talking lotto odds to max those.

Easily some of the best advices on this channel! I think that's the advantage of having CN first, the big math has already been done for the most part and it'll only get better as we go. Maybe it sucks for character releases since they seem to go with meta baits first, and then maybe release the less strong ones? But I'm usually not one to go full meta anyways. There are a lot of great waifus in game and I'm sure we can make it work with out favorites! It's always interesting to see how different gachas treat the same stats. Sometimes crit is king, but some others like here they cap it so it's all about attack. IIRC some other games will even have a different damage formula that will benefit from flat stats as well as max levels of 50-60, so it's quite different than the games with lvl80-90 and formulas that will need more dmg% instead. Big thanks for the advice!

@Dio_kazuhira I worded this wrong. So here I go again. What I'm asking is if I get hp/def, which is better. Cause RNG is a bish. Since I dont live in a perfect world where I get both atk rolls, crit, crit dmg.
Depends on how much Crit Rate you have, Crit Damage scales on a right-sided bell curve relative to Crit Rate. In Genshin, Crit stats were king cuz it's pretty easy to get 70-80 Crit Rate. In Wuthering Waves, it's still good but not as good cuz Crit Rate is, or at least was, harder to raise. Obviously, Crit Rate and Crit Damage scale off each other so the more Crit Damage you have, the more valuable Crit Rate is. Again, in Genshin it was possible to get both stats extremely high, but this is less true in GFL2, as not only are these stats harder to get, but the base Crit Damage is only 20% vs Genshin's 50%. Most people are in the Genshin mindset so they automatically assume Crit is always king. TLDR, you have to do some math in this game to determine when Crit stats are better than Attack.
agree with everything you said but id like to add that another reason flat attack is considered better here than in genshin is that its calculated at the beginning of the formula (pretty much its base attack) where in a game like Gesnhin its calculated at the end making it a lot worse.
this is stupid take kido, the value of stats is in the formula NOT "cUZ iT's PreTTy EaSy tO geT 70-80 CriT grrr" . Everygame uses their own formula to compute the damage.

I agree. I think this video shows a bad way to use boost chips. The great thing about them is you can upgrade one stat at a time and not keep it if it’s lower. You can max an attachment to +200% by just going 1 at a time.
