my thoughts exactly. Strangers things season 3 totally lost that vibe but season 4 set the tone quickly and went back to its roots ( even though there was some cringe dialogue)

I am curious how the second half of season 4 will recapture that mystery, because I feel like the major mysteries were wrapped at the end of the first half. While normally the mystery is resolved before the end in S1 and S2, they weren't solved halfway through.

i agree and this is probably a very unpopular opinion but: i actually kind of was expecting to/waiting for her to die considering the way they were setting it up. not because i dislike her character, which i do not, but because i think the survival rate of these heroes is way too high. i want this show to break my heart by killing off a main character, one of the good guys. not a villain, not a redemption arc death (billy), but a good guy who does not deserve it at all. but it should still drive the plot and not end up as an empty schock-value death either. i do hope that either vol2 or season 5 will up the stakes and we'll actually get our hearts ripped out properly tldr: the whole group is way too lucky and someone who doesn't deserve it needs to be sacrificed for the plot because i thrive on psychological pain
