Mr. Yong Chen, thank you for posting this delightful session for us. I have enjoyed seeing your technique & admiring its finesse. Your voice is also very relaxing (maybe too much!?) and your English is perfect. Wonderful!
Thank you for this step by step video and for the encouraging words offered as I painted along. I was pretty happy with my results although I think I overdid the wavy water reflection lines. Oh well - happy with it anyway as a first attempt at painting water.
Thanks for this. I haven’t painted for 30 years. Mine was a success. I changed the red hull for Prussian Blue. Great step by step and nice presentation.
May I ask what kind of detail bush is that? I have a few, and none work well for fine details. That one you got looks really stiff. At first, I thought; is he using a pencil, and if so, that's brilliant. 😆
I am a new student. Your relaxed style of teaching gave time and freedom to follow along, but my questions: what type of pencil did you use to draw the light lines in the boat? I looked at your materials list and nothing seemed to fit. Also, your list suggests fixatives for various mediums but none for watercolor. Are there fixatives for these? Thank you for in advance for responding.
Yes we will have Friday community painting hours this week (all members are invited) and we will painting beach and bird in one session, and a boat by water in another session. Learn more at enjoyingart.com
Magui, Arteza best quality paper pad is good enough, look for the 100% Cotton. They are not the best in the world, but good enough for regular painting.
Apart from your painting skills, you have a lovely gentle way of teaching.
Thank you for taking the time to share your amazing skills with all of us. You are very kind.
