The translation with the drugs was a bit off. The German original, "Und immer deine Freunde, ihr nehmt doch alle Drogen" contains the word "doch" which was missing in the translation, as it doesn't translate literally; and in this context, the usage of "doch" is the speaker (at least partly) admitting that they do not have firsthand knowledge or concrete evidence for their claim. So it's perhaps better translated along the lines of "And always your friends, you all take drugs, don't you?". As far as I personally interpret the song, the parents simply dislike the lifestyle of their son so much that they throw in unfounded accusations like that into their assessment. This is, in my view, not a story of actual neglect and true drug usage.
Music is just a universal language.

Really nice reaction, the zombies in the live version are a reference to the music video of this song. If you want to react to more songs from die ärzte you should try "deine schuld" (your fault). It has a great political statment.
You can debate for days if "Die Ärzte" or "Die toten Hosen" are punk or not, but what is clear to me: They both belong in the german rock hall of fame. I`m usually more into the harder stuff, but they really rock

The funny thing is ..
I am a punk, i dye my hair and i have tatoos, i dress weird and i create art and i even take some drugs (not including alcohol and cigarretes those are just bad).
But my parents are incredibly supportive because i am 100% honest with them and they know that i can see my own potential.
I got all the freedom i needed to make some mistakes and learn from them.(and oh boy have i learned..)
I even got a little too much freedom so now i lack discipline but at least now i am mature enaugh to be able to teach it to myself.

Die Ärzte ist die beste Band der Welt. They are not new, they are also not the best band of the world. It? s german with a blink.
