During Covid, many travel agencies have shut shop and many new travel agents are in business. Therefore, it is important, now more than ever, that you know how to distinguish between a genuine travel agent and a fraud one.

Hi.. I have booked a Maldives trip with a travel agent online and already paid 4lakhs for 4 people including flights. My travel date is 5th April 2023 but he has still not issued us the flight tickets. We had emailed the resort for confirmation code in the beginning and booking was confirmed. But before leaving what are the booking details and documents should I collect from the agent. Pls help I am very worried because the agent is not responding properly these days

I would really require some more details to actually evaluate this situation. however, with the info you have provided i can only suggest the below:
1. Travel agents can apply tickets in group departures for which the tickets are printed only d-1 or d-3 days (d being date of departure). This being said, the agent should have communicated the same to you so that you don't get troubled
2. I hope every detail and go ahead regarding this trip is on mail
3. To answer what all documents to collect from agent: Flight ticket, hotel vouchers, hotel transfers vouchers (from airport to hotel and back), voucher of any additional activity booked via agent
4. Also do share if your travel agent asked for TCS on this package booking?
5. You must be having some invoice from your travel agent, you can check the genuinety of your travel agent by searching it's office or company registration on the internet
As i am replying after 3 days and your travel is day after tomorrow, i hope that by this time all your vouchers and tickets would have been shared with you. If not pleas let me know here and i'll try and help you out.

Regarding my travel unfortunately the agent cheated me and didn’t send any tickets nor resort bookings. He has stopped picking up my call also. He had promised to refund my money on email and WhatsApp also but now he is responding to me. Me n my family are in too much distress n pain. We have approached the police and cyber police they are suggesting to go for consumer court since he has a registered office in Gurgaon and also one office address he had given in Bangalore also, we went in search of it but didn’t find. So the police is saying it’s cyber police case and cyber police is saying since we have registered office go to consumer court. Kindly suggest the right path we are confused.

Few things are not agreed people do have Gmail id too infact big company's do keep them as backup sometym domain doesn't work or surver issues do happen gmail is used for synchronization with outlook so I think this wasn't relevant as per me.

we have paid advance payment for our upcoming trip to Bali via HolidayMachine Pvt. Ltd but the phone numbers are dead and emails are bouncing back. Rahul Chadha - Chief Executive Officer, he is the person we were discussing with him on the plan but now at last minute we are unable to reach him or his company. If anyone has any suggestion please help us
