I have loved the Indys for 40 years, but have never owned a pair. Even with that obsession, when I plunked down my money, I bought the Vibergs. With the inferior materials, I just couldn't justify spending that much money on the Indys. The Viberg materials are simply topnotch. I hope the break-in isn't as painful as Nick experienced. I also own a pair of Vibeg steel toe work boots, which I bought 18 years ago. They took forever to break-in, but I don't think they ever hurt me. Those work boots are heirloom quality, I hope I come feel the same way about the Service boots. Btw, most Viberg boots can now be ordered in D, E and EE widths.
I like speed hooks, but the hooks on the Indy are small and sharp. I prefer the Goodyear welt simply because you have more options for re-soles. Few people can do stitchdown, and even fewer correctly.
Of course we all know now that the last / shape is really the one redeeming thing about the Alden indy when the price is considered, every serious boot fan saw the indy cut apart recently on the Rose anvil channel and it's very hard to deny that the materials inside the boot just don't stach up against other boots in it's price range. You can get equal to better quality for the same or less. I personally can appreciate the look of a very nice classy boot, but at the end of the day they're basically just a high top dress shoe and as a blue collar guy living in a rural town I don't even own a suit and have no business wearing dressy looking boots.
Thanks for the reviews Nick, I've found your style of doing these reviews to be very even handed. When you're critical of something, you're not overly critical, emphasizing it's not something "you" like. After watching many of your reviews, I have to say that I've picked up a pair of the Alden 403 from a local Philadelphia retailer, after taking your advice of trying them on first. One thing to point out is that I really like the combination last they're built upon, I really, really like that the heel feels secured in place versus other boots I have. They are a little heavy, much heavier than my Frye Logan Cap Toes, and there was literally no break in period. I find that the Neo-cork sole to have better grip than I had expected. If I get these resoled, I think I'd go back to Alden to get it done, I like the soles so far. Great thorough reviews!!
Chris, so sorry I missed your comment man. Thanks a million for the kind words, they mean a lot! I've grown to love my Aldens more and more, the combination last is really comfy and the company really knows foot shape. And yeah, the cork is surprisingly grippy! Again, thanks for watching.
When considering a Viberg boot and proper individual fit is it not a question of which last a particular model is built on? ie. if this boot is an E width and one needs a D width doesn’t one need to consider another model built on a D width last?
I have both and love both for the same reasons. My Alden 405s are a little more casual, and mine didn’t wrinkle up like yours did and don’t have the gap like yours do. My Vibergs have speed lace hooks and other then that are identical to yours. But they are way dressier then my Aldens. Regardless of which I wear out I usually get someone asking what I’m wearing. It’s makes me think about how badly famous people have it. Getting stopped everywhere they go. My boots are famous LOL 😂
Love my Indy boots and agree fashionably they are more eye catching. I always get compliments when out with my boots on. Never heard of Viberg but they seem like a legit boot maker. Alden makes many more shoes I prefer like their long wing bluchers in cordovan cigar color, which I adore and sparingly wear.
It's so stressful wearing cordovan, isn't it?? Like it's so much more durable and unlikely to wrinkle but somehow you become all the more afraid of denting it :)
A bit late to the party, but I love these vids. Glad I found this channel before taking a shot on some 1000 miles from a guy who didn’t know what he had tbh. Don’t know if I’ll ever be in the market for Aldens, but damn are they childhood nostalgia driven.
Great assessment! Got a bit carried away and own 3 pairs of each. My favourites are the Viberg CXL (brown cap toe) and the Alden 405 (calf). Viberg’s CXL is thicker and resists the creasing that messes with my Alden 403’s & Kudus. Vibergs are ass kickers, whereas the 405’s are just plain cool. Can’t pick a favourite...like em both!
Ha! Three pairs of each, got damn. I kinda wish I'd gotten the Alden 405 just because it's the original. You're totally right that Viberg doesn't crease, it's their big upside. Your assessment is spot on, Ken!

i will eventually buy a pair of Vibergs because I'm a boot freak. but they are definitely not worth the money. and no matter how many boots I buy to try to replace them. the iron ranger is still my favorite.
I own Indy and find it the easiest thing to pair with my clothes. Any type of jeans - slim (I guess super-slim might look a bit off), regular, rolled up, stacked, black, indigo, faded.... and all sorts of chinos too (especially olive ones look awesome) and any casual shirt or t-shirt and also leather jackets - both black and brown. Obviously, you wouldn't wear it with dress pants and dress shirts or blazers … but everything casual is a go.
@@deej9367 I own whites and vibergs, but you sound like you aren't familiar with high end dress shoes. Leatherboard is the norm. You're simply unfamiliar. Let me guess, you probably think a $3000 sport coat or a $4000 suit is pathetic too?

yet another excellent review my friend. I love the Indy Boot! The Trubalance last is TTS on my foot, 10.5D. It is amazing on how it formed to the foot during my first wearing. Amazing... actually bought 3 pair. Need is never part of the equation. Great review.
Great review and comparison between two excellent boots. I own both. The Indy gets slightly more wear time for me, I'm not sure why, but maybe because the leather is softer and it has a more molded feel against my foot. However, I do not like the speed hooks on the Indy boot. I find they are too close together and they often feel very fidgety when I'm tying them. I've had the Viberg for less time and they still feel like they're breaking in. Very stiff leather. A sturdy boot, for sure, but almost over engineered. Overall, I agree with your assessment. Thank you.
That's a great point about the speed hooks being close together on the Indy, Duke. Someone below said the Viberg felt "overbuilt" and I thought that was a good word for it. Just a bit too much boot. But it certainly feels indestructible!
on of the things that a custom fit takes care of ,, that is something i dont like when they are maxed out so to speak, my work boots are my dress up boots and viberg have been on my feet 25 years , but when the leather comes together thats no good , Be Kind.
I was hesitating between both of them and I found your review which helped me to make my choice. You can add one disadvantage for Viberg boots, it's almost impossible to find them in a shop in France. I went for Alden Indy 2 months ago and I have no regret at all. With them I feel really coooooool and proud walking in the streets. And so easy to break in, as you mentionned. In France only E width is available, but it fits perfect to my feet. Thanks for your videos, they are great
I've worn Viberg Service Boots and the Alden Indy Boots. The Viberg's were very uncomfortable because on one of the boots they were kind of narrow. The Viberg's only come in one width which is disappointing for a boot that costs so much. The Aldens are comfortable from the moment I wore them. The only complaint with the Alden is the soles are not as tough as a Vibram or Dainite sole, but the boot construction and leather are awesome. They can all be resoled for something more durable like a Vibram sole or Dainite sole. The Aldens also look really cool when they age, and so do the Viberg's. The price on the Viberg is ridiculous.
what is your brannock size? what width? 2030 is an E last, if you feet are wider, you might want to look at a different last, cuz 2030 apparently isnt suitable for you. Viberg should be around 600 imo, but the price hike is a bit too much. Still, I own 4 pairs, 2 shells, 1 RO, 1 Essex and the QC is excellent.
Vibergs are out of my price range but hopefully one day I can get a pair. Wish they had a store in NY, would be convenient for trying on and buying. I own a pair of Indy boots and the leather on them are great and still looking nice after years of wear. They do feel clunky and heavy though. I’ve also almost slipped a few times walking on wet streets.
Hey, just wanted to see if you could help me with a quick sizing question. I’m a 9.5 EEE in White’s MPs. I don’t really have anyplace local to try the Alden Indys and the Vibergs on - so I’m just sort of guessing. Thinking I’d be a 9.5 EEE in Alden’s Truebalance last and 9.5E in Viberg (I’m used to wearing shoes that aren’t wide enough for me, so the fact that they’re only available in E width sucks but it’s something I can deal with). As a starting point, do those sound like good guesses? Or maybe go up half a size to 10 in Alden?
i just think if i owned a pair of thursdays i couldnt get the vibergs too similar. i like the indys i have really come around to the way they look. damn id wear them so often.
Stridewise haha they are like Radiohead for me I listen to it once and leave it alone and 5 months later I’m like ‘Best shit EVER!’ Wish you had looked at some yuketens they push them pretty hard at pickings in Melbourne I’d love your thoughts!!
I would very much appreciate your comparison of Higgins AE to the Alden Indy or Viberg. Thanks for giving this some consideration. Your reviews and commentary are excellent! Keep up the great work. Thanks, Ed PS: I see you frequently stop to tie a shoe/boot on a step while walking. Is this sort of a trademark of yours? It’s kind of cool. Just curious as to how you came up with the idea of tying your shoes like that.
This review is a little dated, especially what we learned from cobblers and the Rose Anvil review in the recent past. The Alden is not an adventure boot, it is a dress boot (???) made with inferior materials. Revive shoe repair (ruclips.net/video/6DrvtI1Xh84/видео.html 2 minute mark) and Bedo leather craft (ruclips.net/video/otexGPCIktI/видео.html 1:30 minute mark) both expressed disappointment when they took apart the indy boot. FYI- when they were making the indy movies, they had like 20 boots available in various levels of wear and when some failed, they just swapped it out. What opened my eyes was when Weston from Rose Anvil cut open the boot and I saw all the inferior materials. It is a nice boot (but overpriced) and many like the fit but as for it being rugged, it is more of a hollywood created myth. Viberg is more of a rugged adventure boot, it can stand up to more punishment but I also think it is a bit overpriced but not as badly as the Alden boot.
The stitching on the Indy is a bit awkward as it is obviously non functional. If I want a moc toe I'm going for a proper moc toe, Viberg wins for me on this.
@@DrClocktopus1 Can't go wrong with Red Wing, and if like most, 2nds only mean a cosmetic defect. Well Hell, they are BOOTS for God's sake-they are gonna get beat up anyway!! FYI, I found a pair of Aldens on Ebay, for $135-great shape, and fit me like they were made for me!
Excellent video Nick. The Viberg is just outside my ideal price point. In addition, I am a “D” width and a personal fan of the Goodyear welt. I’m also not keen on wearing boots that might feel as if my feet are in cement blocks, as I believe you mentioned, perhaps in responding to a viewers comment. Thus, based on your review and my personal assessment I would choose the Alden Indy over the Viberg. I do own a pair of Higgins Mill, Allen Edmonds boots which I am quite pleased with. I would be very interested in your thoughts of the Higgins Mill as compared to the Alden Indy boot. Perhaps a future video? I really enjoy your videos. I find your commentary very easy to follow, probably due to the structure to the content which you establish early on, in each video. Bottom line: Thanks very much and keep up the great work! Ed
Ed, thanks so much for your kind words! Glad you find things easy to follow. I think I'll definitely do an Allden Edmonds comparison with Alden, a lot of folks have asked for that I do really like the Higgins Mill shoes. It's tough with the Vibergs, it's not like they're uncomfortable they're just very heavy and when I'm walking in them it kind of feels like the shoes are walking *me*. That said, it does make walking in them feel very masculine and assertive, you know? Clomping around all powerful like. Some guys love it and maybe they're good to wear when you want an ego boost, haha.
Viberg Boots are cool, but not really all that comfortable. In terms of durability, both are durable, but the Viberg outer sole will last longer than the Alden. Aldens are way more comfortable and much easier to resole. Comparing the two, I ultimately would go with the Alden because when the leather ages it looks awesome. Vibergs are awesome, but they are overpriced. Viberg's, even when broken in, feel like you are wearing a pair of logger boots. The Alden is more of an ortho boot, so it feels comfortable the first time you put them on.
You're right on the money with Viberg's sole, it is more durable than Alden but tougher to resole. You're also right about the price and, well, everything. Great assessment, D-vo!
While a stitchdown welt isn’t as straightforward to resolve as a Goodyear welt, it does make a boot fully rebuildable. You can actually remove and replace the midsole, insole, and shank, which is something you definitely can’t do on a goodyear welted shoe
I really like both, and figured I'd maybe get both someday (when I'm able to make 100% sure what size I need... and have money obviously!), but truthfully, if a Viberg can only be resoled 2-3 times, max, that kind of kills it for me. I buy for life!
I just got some Oak Street Trench Boots that are pretty great and quite similar to the Viberg look! Plain toe Chromexcel but with a Goodyear welt. A good weight too: oakstreetbootmakers.com/footwear/brown-trench-boot
Oddly enough, I just checked them out last night while I should have been sleeping! They look amazing! I'll look forward to a review when the time comes!
Haha great stuff, Jesse! Yeah thus far I really like the weight and the look, a couple of threads came loose in the first week of wear and they're a little roomy but if I wear them with thick socks I gotta say I'm a fan. Nice, simple, reliable.
I own both and i certain feel like viberg is better boot. Lots of people hwere compare it against thursday and allen edmonds but viberg's construction is on another level.
Just want to say thanks for the review of these two classic boots. I have Alden 405’s and a pair of Cabourn Chukkas from Viberg, I love my Aldens and look forward to getting a Viberg service boot to flesh out my collection!
So I've been looking for some longterm boots and have narrowed down the brands to Viberg and Truman. Are there REALLY any concerns one should have with Viberg boots? I see lots of people talking them down and part of me suspects that it's just people rationalizing the price/reacting to the "elite" nature of the boot - a "I don't even want an OLED tv - LCD is better" sort of thing. Is QC that bad?
No, the QC on Viberg is phenomenal. It's the best thing about them. The leather especially, zero loose grain. Like I think there's a point of diminishing returns once a boot is over 400 bucks but that's just me. They're also super heavy. They're fine boots!
Dainite studded sole is very slippery on hard surfaces, i once slip off and fall while walking on a slightly wet concrete. Very very slippery, not going back to that sole anymore.
Oh is that so! I haven't had issues. I slipped down the stairs at Atlantic Ave last week wearing Timberland's super chunky, grippy sole, so I feel like nothing's really perfect haha.
I really like the Alden tankers but their too expensive. Dont like shell either. I'll probably get a pair of John Lofgrens if I can find one on grailed or ebay to wear while waiting 18 months for White Klouds. Going to japan in 2 months. 😶
There is merit to this observation. I am 9.5D Brannock. Got 9D Indy 403s, and I must wear thin wool socks. Even so, they are my hardest boots to put on with my slightly wide feet and high instep. While my feet are D, they are right up to the E line, I learned later from Red Wing's machine. Alden DC told me if I wanted to wear midweight wool socks, try 9E. Once on, my 9D boots are the most comfortable I own, but I'd like to try slightly wider, accepting that they'd be for midweight wool socks. I actually like the thin wool now; however, for a rough and ready pair of 405s I'd like to wear slightly thicker socks.
Nick do you have any Oak Street boots? If you do what are they like? I was looking at their indigo rough out. Looks great and all but I couldn't find any reviews of it. Also, is it wrong to assume that all rough outs are somewhat tough shoes?
I actually have an Oak Street review going up next week! I only tried their Trench boot. A very very nice, simple boot with great leather, though I found the toes bump up against the end of the shoe a little when you're standing still. But worth trying out - if the fit is good I'd take it
Stridewise I just realized the indigo ones are also "Trench Boots". Would you say these boots are as tough as the Truman Javas? Or are they more like the Taft Dragons? Thanks again mate
Thanks Nick. Yes I got the same boots (Viberg should give you a cut). The quality is amazing and they even smell great. I’m breaking them in but that’s nothing compared to my Limmer boot break in. Thanks again.
You really need to review Thursday Vanguard boots; French Roast /Color #8 chromeexcel colors. I think they are comparable to the overpriced Viberg boots in chromexcel. And for those who care, there made in the United States.
Alden Indy has much flavor and story, very unique, from top view to side view to bottom, nothing quite like it. Viberg's just so plain and blah, although tactile experience is better as it's just so heavy and thick.... Alden for me is the go to, the first kind of shoe never gave blisters, never, comfy to stand and walk.
Yeah these are all really good points. I guess the Viberg is for people who want plain done fancy if that makes sense. But Indys are sooo great and I agree, really comfortable to stand in.
Oh thanks man! It's from Faherty. Super soft shirts. I don't think they sell that one anymore but this is pretty close? fahertybrand.com/collections/mens-new-arrivals/products/cloud-summer-blend-shirt
Do you ever clean and condition you’re boots. I’ve never seen any pair of boots in you’re videos that are clean. It shows you’re style all around I suppose.
The quality is same at the line, both is very well made, but the outside looking is better with Viberg. But my opinion, i do not like the Stitch down construction of Viberg, not becoz of it's bad, i just don't understand why they do not make boots with Goodyear welt construction, if they do i can say their boots is the best. Maybe they want some kind of unique things but some brand like Truman use Stitch down construction too, so why they keep it. Many people said that Stitch-down construction can not resole many time like GYW, i was thinking about buying a pairs of Viberg Shell cordovan boots but with that crazy price i still dont have GYW so maybe i will give up that idea
I think it's worth asking yourself how many soles you're likely to go through in the boot's lifetime. If it's 2 or 3 it might still be worth it to get the stitchdown but I agree it's more of a no brainer when they have a GYW.
@@PumpUptheJam81 I don’t know what “cross shop” means. What I do know is that Thursday does not compare is QC or quality of materials. I have since owned a Thursday boot and was disappointed in the quality and returned it.
Viberg's, you pay $695, but you also pay another $50 for international fees. Viberg's are imported from Canada, and you will pay an extra fee because they are shipped from Canada. Aldens have a ton of colors, and a variety of really cool boots styles.
Actually I live in America and the boots cost $670 with $25 in postage so it was $695 all together, for me anyway. Definitely agree Alden makes cooler shoes!
From the looks of the Alden’s they look too big for you. You should try a 11D. You went true to size almost. For me arch support is the most important factor because it has to do with comfort.
viberg is sure the high end boots with quality craftsmanship, but i'm gonna have to disagree with "viberg is the best boot in the world". there are a lot of other boots brand that posses equal if not higher craftsmanship and materials with better value/price.
I totally agree, I don't really get the hype around Viberg. I mean they are great boots but the high price and the E width seriously diminish my enthusiasm.
You lost me with no leather sole. Wolverine 1000 mile boots beat both of these hands down. NO CONTEST. When will these companies stop trying to get people to convert from leather soles? We will not wear synthetic soles. These guys just don't seem to get it. They can say all day long how great these synthetic soles are and this is what the industry is doing. blah blah blah. But we want leather soles. Period. Damn.
Who's the "we" here? You're implying these extremely successful business are floundering because they won't give you leather soles, it's very odd. I like leather soles but they don't grip well and they get scratched up, I can see why a lot of people don't like them.
Most people shilling the Indys in the comments section are only doing so because they're too broke for Viberg. That's fine - just don't pass judgement on the other boots to justify your own purchase.

Thanks for your videos, they are great
Thanks Benoit! And sorry for the late reply. Glad you got a pair! Vibergs very hard to find anywhere to try on in person.
Who cares? Frog coward
@@JR-hi9bu Bro, did a French dude date your sister or what?
Benoit regardes à Recall à Genève, 3 types de Vibergs (Service, derby, Chelsea)..
Is it weird that I really like the Vibergs with a cap toe but not so much with a plain toe?
Alden Indy boot vamp/toe box shipping serves the function of reducing/eliminating the vamp creasing/wrinkling which happens with a plain toe boot.
As someone who wears eee width shoes i wholly sympathize with the disappointment of companies failing to offer more accommodating width selection.
That is why I go with Alden. The trubalance last is already roomy, but they also go up the like a 4E.
I think you're spot on with your assessment, Alden fits better. The cork outsole isn't as slippery as it looks but for sure it's no Vibram or Dainite.
what is your brannock size?
Alden’s for life.
I mean, if Indiana Jones wears them.
Stridewise and Indy is the man!
@@Stridewise Indiana Jones is not a real person. Alden's were Harrison Ford's preferred boot.
The price difference between these two boots is one pair of Thursday Boot scouts..
Jeff, if the Indy boots are heavy for you you definitely don't want Vibergs, it feels like walking in cement blocks haha!
Indys are great Edward! They've grown on me as well.
Stridewise haha they are like Radiohead for me I listen to it once and leave it alone and 5 months later I’m like ‘Best shit EVER!’ Wish you had looked at some yuketens they push them pretty hard at pickings in Melbourne I’d love your thoughts!!
The Viberg look better to me. I prefer the plain toe look. If I was going for a top quality moc toe, I would opt for the Galway by Crockett & Jones.
You're a man who knows his boots, Rev! Always enjoy reading your comments.
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Rev. James C hello yellow
I guess I like the Higgins from AE because of the 360 degree welt.
Haha but I'm not comparing AE! I will soon though, looks like a lot of people are interested in AE vs Alden.
I would very much appreciate your comparison of Higgins AE to the Alden Indy or Viberg. Thanks for giving this some consideration. Your reviews and commentary are excellent! Keep up the great work.
Thanks,
Ed
PS: I see you frequently stop to tie a shoe/boot on a step while walking.
Thanks for your input, Jeremy! Do you own either?
I like the Indy stitching. Definitely gives it a unique look.
Unfortunately not. I would like some Vibergs in the future but currently the most expensive boot I can afford are Red Wing seconds.
J PO I definitely understand what you're saying but I love the unique look it gives the boot. Personal preference I guess.
Can you do review of J crew boots ? Kenton and pacer? Thanks
What product do you recommend for brand new boots?
Just got the Alden 405's and was wondering what shoe care should I do before using it outside.
I have two pair of Indy boots and wouldn’t trade them - fit like leather sneakers, comfy, look cool
That's great! They will be on my list!
Review the Edward Green Galway!
Thanks so much dude! Really appreciate that feedback.
If I buy the Aldens here in UK, where would I get them resoled/healed and how much does it cost please somebody?
Any cobbler can resole them no matter where you are! But you know, you'd need to ask the cobbler how much it would cost.
Stridewise thanks boss
I want to get a pair of Indy boots
Notification squad? Love you Nick! You da best :)
I bet you say that to all the boot reviewers ;)
hi, what is your opinion on J Crew kenton boots? thanks
The alden. Iconic.
The Alden’s just look like something a high school shop teacher wears....
Great video!😎
I really like the Alden tankers but their too expensive. Dont like shell either. I'll probably get a pair of John Lofgrens if I can find one on grailed or ebay to wear while waiting 18 months for White Klouds. Going to japan in 2 months. 😶
Oooh White Klouds would be worth the wait! Which pair are you planning to buy? That's exciting.
Thinking on it, Alden probablt isn’t the best boot for Indy to wear because of the leather rather than rubber sole. But oh well
It's a cork sole!
My Indys were the first shoes I've ever owned that required an E-width. Beware. They fit narrow.
His name is Junior, they named the dog Indiana.
A DOG? You are named after a DOG?
True. These should be Junior Boots.
Dose Viberg 2030 wider than trubalance in D width?
Yeah. Trubalance is D around the heel
But worth trying out - if the fit is good I'd take it
@@Stridewise nice ! Thank you
Stridewise I just realized the indigo ones are also "Trench Boots". Would you say these boots are as tough as the Truman Javas? Or are they more like the Taft Dragons?
Thanks again mate
Can you give the weight of each pair to compare?
Unsure but the Viberg is like twice as heavy, it's a tank
Thanks Nick another great review. My Vibergs just came in the mail.
Whoa! A big buy, Severo, congrats. Did you get the same boots, in CXL? What do you think so far?
Thanks Nick. Yes I got the same boots (Viberg should give you a cut). The quality is amazing and they even smell great. I’m breaking them in but that’s nothing compared to my Limmer boot break in. Thanks again.
Not really a fair comparison. Viberg is superior. Alden is over priced because of a movie / character. Viberg also makes D width now.
I'm sure they are both great boots (I don't own either), but I don't like the look of the Aldens. The stitching is a real turn-off.
You really need to review Thursday Vanguard boots; French Roast /Color #8 chromeexcel colors. I think they are comparable to the overpriced Viberg boots in chromexcel. And for those who care, there made in the United States.
I know! The review is filmed I'm just putting some touches on it. Will be up I think next week, James!
Waiting for the review of Alden shell cordovan boots.. Thank you..
Haha Yuri I want to explore a fe more brands before I return to Alden but cordovan shoes are definitely in the cards.
My choice depends on the day. #Options
I'm the same! But I always go for Alden when I want to look cooler :)
Can you get these boots in extra wide
Not in Viberg, but Alden yes they have all the widhts

Do you ever clean and condition you’re boots. I’ve never seen any pair of boots in you’re videos that are clean. It shows you’re style all around I suppose.
I do, but if they look pristine in videos then everyone gives me shit for it so I try to beat them up a bit for filming haha
What's the heaviest boot you have?
Vibergs! Followed by Whites, I think
will this be a series?
Yep! I'm trying to make every 3rd video a comparison.
You won me at “Indiana Jones”
Hahah I only found that out after I bought them and I was like "Oh hell yes"
Hard to take you seriously after you compared Thursday Boots to Red Wing boots.
People do actually cross shop both brands, so his comparisons are relevant to others.
@@PumpUptheJam81 I don’t know what “cross shop” means. What I do know is that Thursday does not compare is QC or quality of materials.
I have since owned a Thursday boot and was disappointed in the quality and returned it.
Actually Viberg makes the 2020 series which is just like the 2030 but in D width.
They do NOW, but not when this was filmed :)
10 years warranty???
Yet another VERY hot boot video. Very nice.
Thanks bro! Always glad to see you in the comments.
You are welcome. Always very much enjoy seeing your boots.
Thanks!
the alden has a apron toe not moc toe
Viberg's, you pay $695, but you also pay another $50 for international fees. Viberg's are imported from Canada, and you will pay an extra fee because they are shipped from Canada. Aldens have a ton of colors, and a variety of really cool boots styles.
Actually I live in America and the boots cost $670 with $25 in postage so it was $695 all together, for me anyway. Definitely agree Alden makes cooler shoes!
From the looks of the Alden’s they look too big for you. You should try a 11D. You went true to size almost.
For me arch support is the most important factor because it has to do with comfort.
I did try the 11, it was too tight and the toe break was better in the 11.5. I like my fit
viberg is sure the high end boots with quality craftsmanship, but i'm gonna have to disagree with "viberg is the best boot in the world". there are a lot of other boots brand that posses equal if not higher craftsmanship and materials with better value/price.
I totally agree, I don't really get the hype around Viberg. I mean they are great boots but the high price and the E width seriously diminish my enthusiasm.
and what boots brand would those be?
Which one s
Aldens are more comfortable, and the leather is awesome. Vibergs are sturdy but you will blister up your feet trying to break them in.
100%, great take.
ALDEN all the way!
I know Alden is supposed to be a very high quality product, but none of their designs have ever inspired me to drop north of $500
That Indiana Jones cachet though...
The Alden’s seem dishonest with the “fake “ mock toe
I have heard Viberg are better quality boots compared to Alden
Alden or gtfo.
Yeah I prefer my Aldens :)
Most people shilling the Indys in the comments section are only doing so because they're too broke for Viberg. That's fine - just don't pass judgement on the other boots to justify your own purchase.
Hahah I feel like there's not a huge difference in income level people buying $570 boots and $670 boots
Always buy the Vibergs, watch the Rose Anvil of these overpriced Aldens..
Found the Alden Indy quiet ugly
Viberg looks much more nicer
Non Goodyear welted for 700 bucks is just not worth it man
That price really is so hard to justify.
I can tell you've never owned Vibergs before. There is a reason for their reputation. GYW is not the be all end all of shoe construction.
