    Gordon there is plug on the driver side in middle next to the clutch fork lever and it’s 1/2 inch drive square, that’s where you suppose to inject the full synthetic gears oil

      Depends. The shop I work at the trucks we have either takes a 1/2" ratchet or a 15/16" 8 point socket. Depends on what plug it has. Different plugs different trucks

    It is a shim to set the end play for the counter shaft bearings.

    Hey my rear bearing cover gasket is leaking can i just pop it off and replace the gasket while the transmission is still on the truck? Any specific spec to torque the nuts after i install the gasket?

    Hi Gordon, need a little help from you just some advice,
    I had to drop the auxiliary on mine, just to replace a 99 cent
    Snap ring on the high low range bar that holds the shift fork in the place,
    I have the FRO eaton which is the pain in the butt one.
    You probably got the rtlo or you can access the range piston from the four bolt cover on the back of yours
    So what I'm asking is what is the best way to get that auxiliary back into position because that thing is a son of a *"***.
    I don't have that beautiful Jack that you made
    It's just too much for me to lift
    I got it down easy I just held the auxiliary with one hand and lowered a regular car jack.
    But learning it back up because the range Pistons got to go through a cast hole
    Just a terrible design anyway any help would be appreciated
    Thanks my friend

      I'm sorry I don't know what to say, I'm used to working alone and as an x-welder I just make whatever I need to "get-er did". I think you may need to make some sort of jig out of wood to balance it and get someone to help hold it on the jack. I would recommend renting a transmission jack for this.

    Gordon, the rear top of my tranny auxiliary housing and main tranny housing are marred up on the machined mating surfaces. Do you think it matters much on the top edge?

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  3 года назад +1

      just clean it good with brake cleaner or something like that and seal it with silicone, I'm sure it will be fine.

    My selector grinds downshifting from 6th to 05th on Eaton fuller 10sp. I don't know what it is. I have to fully stop the truck to shift the selector back to low. Any ideas how to fix it?
    As for the fill pump, I made my own. Here is what it looks like.

    He put the old oil in the trans mission big mistake

    • @stanpatterson5033
      @stanpatterson5033 5 лет назад +1

      How do you know that he didn't change it just last month? How do you know that he didn't filter it before putting it back in? That stuff is mighty expensive stuff, and if he recently changed it, I don't see any reason not to reuse the stuff. The trans has a magnet inside to capture and hold fragments, he showed it in a previous video, and cleaned the gunk off of it.

      To be honest if you don’t know what the parts are called you should t be tackling it. Also putting dirty oil back into a transmission is a big no no. I would be interested in how it was actually fitted to the transmission. The video doesn’t show it. The aux unit only fits one way there’s no leveling procedure needed. That retainer you mention is a shim . It sets the bearing preload or endfloat.. good on you for having a go
