    Channel 4 has the best balance for their Christmas schedules. A perfect mix of classic movies and Christmas specials. There used to be a time when Channel 4 gave up caring about Christmas and simply hurled movies and repeats on air. A bit like what Channel 5 do now.

      The worst part being that they regurgitate the same stuff as before and think that if they put, 'Christmas', in the title, it somehow makes it different and, 'special.' These so-called, 'talent', and, 'reality', type shows have long since had their day. They were mediocre, insipid and moribund a decade ago.

    Hi Adam, I had a word with a friend of mine who works in ITV as part of their admin staff. She said the joke inside ITV is that Ant and Dec should be made to work more for their HUGE salary, and ITV have avoided putting them on Christmas night for many years now. She said considering they pocket close to £20 million a year each from ITV, they need to work more for their money, and so we have them on Christmas Day.

    The problem with the Home Alone films now is that as much as I love both films I have seen them literally a million times so they do get a little on the boring side for me after a while, one scene that will never get old for me though is the scene from the second film when Marv gets electrocuted, love that scene, I laugh every time! Also I expect that they'll make a rather big thing about the Raymond Briggs films this year given that it's the first Christmas that he is sadly no longer with us.🎄🎄

    • @TheKnob16
      @TheKnob16 Год назад

      I loved Home Alone as a child, but as you said, it gets boring after watching them lots of times. The second film was better than the first, especially when the tarantula crawls on Marv's face. In real life, Daniel Stern had to mime the screaming, as he only agreed to do one take of the scene. The third and fourth were not as good as the original two, but I also loved them as a child.

    • @KRPTV
      @KRPTV Год назад +1

      Yeah the third film was good too, although I did feel with the third film that there were too many booby traps, with the first two films there were just enough, they both had a good plot to them with the booby trap scenes near the end, whereas with Home Alone 3 the booby traps seemed to take up half of the film which I didn't think was quite as good. I have to admit I have never seen Home Alone 4 all the way through but judging by the reviews it got I'm not sure I want to really!😁😁😁🎄🎄🎄

    • @TheKnob16
      @TheKnob16 Год назад

      @@KRPTV I was merely stating the third and fourth films were better than any film they produce nowadays. Even if Macaulay Culkin played an adult in a future film, it would not be as good as the original two.

    I would have thought that with all the on line streaming services that the BBC/ITV/C4 would try and change their format a bit. But it is the same old Christmas Specials that are just the same shows with Christmas hats. I understand that the big films are no longer there as we have already seem them on streaming or dvd. But Blankety Blank and Mrs Brown Boys etc. I mean are they really going to do make no effort.

    I don't think I saw much of last year's festive line up really from what I remember-and I doubt from here that I will do so this year either!
    Of course, Christmas Day at 3.00-3.10pm or so on BBC1 and ITV1 I guess we will have for the first time The King's speech instead of The Queen as before; no doubt of course he will-rightly so-reflect on her sad passing, and this will be reflected later on in the News I am sure. No doubt many viewers will watch this understandably; but as I say, as for the rest of what is on, well who knows I wonder? Thank you anyway!

    Here we go again. For the umpteenth year in a row there is NOTHING that appeals to my interests. Far too many cookery programmes and 2nd or 3rd rate gameshows. And films that have been on so many times before it is a wonder that they have not been worn out yet. Seems I will be spending a lot of time with my hi-fi again.
