Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to learn of the concept of backing tracks. I’m over here trying to be Jordan Rudess on the keyboard. Playing with a backing track is so much fun and i feel like I’ve played better/faster than i have ever done before while doing so… Not always pretty sounding but, but super fun. Thanks so much.❤

Ive been all over the internet the past few months playing am backing tracks is this is my favourite by far. I practice to this nearly everyday and ive improved because of it. I still kinda suck but this makes me a better player and I love this backing track
I know I use A minor but I dont know the names of the scales I use but I include 4th fret on 4th string down, 7th fret on 5th string down so I think its called A7 but not sure. I include loads of others too but cant be bothered adding everything :p Part of EM slips in quite well too
i know nothing about scales so i mainly stay in the same positions and noodle around but this backing track somehow makes me sound like a god. 5/5 stars
If you're advanced, try the A minor over the chords Am. G and F and harmonic minor (or phrygian dominant) over the chord E, that should make a difference
I remember jamming to this track a lot when it was new… So in a way I guess it was a inspiration to start my own metal backing tracks channel 5 years later 😘

As grateful as one could be with such a plethora of choices, I often find myself still craving, something to fill the void. Today I have found one. Great hard rock/metal backing track. I've been looking for a good track to practice improvisation and scales over. Good suggestion on playing the E Phyrgian dominant over the 4th chord. Will try that!
Really enjoy this backing track; it's not even my style; but, I jam to it nicely. I find it quite useful that you recommended the use of the E Phrygian Dominant too. You sir... are talented, thoughtful and informative; love it.... More Please. Thanks

yes they work perfectly all the way through. in the track my rhythm guitars are actually playing them. you can here the thirds only in the arpeggio rhythm. have fun!
For those who are not well versed in theory this can be a little deceiving. I would not use E Phrygian Dominant over that Am like suggested, because the following chord is a G natural, too much tension when unnecessary can really wack your flow. Phyrigian dominant would fit nicely over the EMaj in this context or an E7 would be better. the scale is A natural minor until you hit the E, than it reinforces Harmonic minor and for those interested this is called an "Andalusian Cadence" originating in flamenco styles. hence the spanish feel. try A Aeolian -> G Mixolydian -> F Lydian -> E Phyrgian Dominant. chasing the chords as they go happy playing \m/

Through this mist we’re thrown in
Wandering around wondering
Where has the light gone?
Why are we unsafe
Every and each day
We are afraid
Longing for something we don’t understand
We need to change our ways
And I would change the world if I could
I would make sad people happy
Show them reality we all need to live in
Those poor souls
Exhausted souls
Lost souls
Screaming the true words of unknown
Why is everyone so anxious
To meet the unknown
True knowledge is hidden beneath the surface of known
I dont need anyone to teach me
I have myself but i cant reach me
My hands are short
And shallow soul
Lying in the body of unknown
I wish this track was much longer..it rocks!
