Being a one time gambler. I can absolutely relate. It's the worst thing that can happen to a young man. I quit completely in 2016. I made up my mind one day that i was going to quit. I sat my parents down one day and told them everything. They chided me prayed for me paid all the loans I took. Since then I've never played bet again.

You left the gambling matrix in 2016,I started gambling in the year 2016.
Gambling is one of the worst decisions I've ever taken in my life,it cost me so many losses that I can't give account of.I lost my final year school fee to sport betting all in the name of trying to hit it big through a shortcut rout. I thank God for my progress, the last time I made a stake was in February 2024.
Gambling is a pandemic that should be eradicated with immediate effect. Stay safe kings.

This is by far the most emotional episode for me, even the host could not hide his emotions well. I also had tears in my eyes because for the first time, I can relate.
Fear and Silence is indeed the major tool that drives addiction which is a verrryyy strong demon that one has to be intentional about and beg God to take away.
I also had a very weird addiction that took months of enslavement that almost moved me to stealing within the markets before I intentionally saw a need to stop and God has been helping me.

I have been gambling since 2012, but my winnings are far more than my loss, because I tried to manage my loss and I moved on. You should know that the betting companies sell hope to people. I do calculated betting tho, Like arbitrade and I ended up gaining at the end of the month, but it has its downs also
This story is my life now. God help me. I will conquer. I ve made up my mind to give up betting and i'm actively doing that. I hope i find a way to clear the debts that has drowned me now.

Sports bet is a dangerous addiction, it is a sad alternative lack of employment and poverty in Nigeria is helping to recruit Nigerian youths into. Even more baffling is seeing celebrities and influencers proudly showing off huge amounts on bets in the social media space, thereby luring more youths into the lifestyle. 3 out of every 5 youths (females included) play sports bet including me🙄and i pray make the matter no reach like this case. meanwhile England cut my ticket this evening... i dey vex😡😡😡😡😡

This man needs serious therapy. The promise to stop and even making that
promise to his father won't stop him. I have studied problem gambling for the past 6 years and this is a big motivation to publish my book on problem gambling. As far as gambling is concerned in Nigeria, we are all in a big mess and all we can do to manage the situation is serious education. He needs therapy and I'm afraid this therapy will last his lifetime.
We're raising money to help him pay his school fees and finish his final year. We currently have 120k/260k and he has a few weeks to go before the deadline. We don't want him to get an extra year.
