My take is that Rassie needs at least 3 good Flyhalf's going into the world cup, for now Mannie Sasha and Polard, and it can't be Pollard all the time, what if he gets injured next worldcup, Rassie is going to use him sparingly and extended his shelf life, I mean he is going to be 33-34 years old by then. So please support all 3 equally to give them the necessary confidence. The All Black have not manage to shake the world cup "failure" in the way that Rassie shook of the WC win The way he looks at his depth.Rassie is prepared to loos the AB MAY NOT LOOSE. I think it's in the making, in a few years time we might have Sacha replacing the ice cold veins of Pollard. If it weren't for Pollard kicking 100% in the RWC we would've lost all 3 of the last games in the RWC But on the other hand, I think the Boks are evolving and similar to the old school ABs that never really relied on 3 pointers to win games.

SEVEN points left on the table because Manie can't do one of the primary tasks of his job, so it was handed to a part timer. What if that was a closer game where giving up 7 points isn't an option? Out of all the Boks in the expanded squad Manie is ONLY one who consistently chokes under pressure, and is more likely to choke when the matches are more difficult. He has no BMT. He's had a full year since being pulled in the RWC when he crumbled, and he hasn't fixed the problem in that time. That says everything about his ability to ever fix it. He can't. He won't. And I'm so tired of hearing about how "brilliant" his play is. Go back and rewatch the games ... look for and count the hospital passes to his centres, the loop passes that fly into touch, the corner kicks that go dead, and the endless kick passes that turn possession into 50/50 ball.
@@Edge81 International is a level too far for him. He's shown that. There are times he plays well ... almost exclusively when the team is running away with the match, but when the match is close and there's pressure, he chokes.

Big positives of bok season other than winning trophy: adding Tony ball and growing depth (Steenekamp, Nortje, Louw, Sacha, Fassi cemented their places in bok group). Old dogs that can strengthen the current group: Kitshoff, Lood, RG, Sous, Faf, DW, Andre, Wilco, Trevor. Youngsters that can add value in future: Horn, Venter, Hencus, Hanekom, Kriel, Jordan. Sharks need to give Jordan game time at 10 also.
Agree 100% - amazing those ‘depth’ guys solidified places & credentials in only 5 games against top opposition. So much so that stalwarts won’t just walk back into their spots; competition is fierce. Three other guys in the conversation are Damien Willemse & Moody, & definitely Edwil Vd Merwe.
Sacha would be wasted on 15. He is much better at 10. His ceiling is so high you have to play him where you can get the most out of him. The only issue with him is he is very young and has already had two knee surgeries. He needs to be managed carefully
Fassie at fullback,rotating with Willemse,Sasha at 10 with Willemse covering there.Manie is a good guy not sure he will play in more than Wednesday team.Same with Pollard first 20 in Argentina the team with him at 10 was as good as anytime in S.A. test.However with Sasha there he's gone struggle to make side.

Hopefully they can find someone somewhere as a bad injury at the wrong time can leave them in a really bad place in an important game
Horses for courses, Libbok is fantastic in attack but he limits your selection options if he is not the kicker for posts … I do agree with you Harry, Hendrickse was fantastic with Libbok and IMO he has jumped the queue of scrum half pecking order to #2, even tho one game doesn’t make you a legend😅
Correct. Libbok is good for running up a score with good ball. He is a dynamo. But matches like the pool game v Ireland: not the best tool for that job.

Getting tired of the nonsense talk coming from certain quarters in SA that Pollard cannot play also attack rugby added to his already great kicking match. He was part of 3 tries in Arg, and now in Nelspruit another 3 tries in 15min. It is not even a debate, he is one of top 1-5 most valuable bok players in team, our general at 10 for years now. The debate is between nr 2 and 3 at 10 for Boks. Sacha looks the real deal as nr. 2, so debate is between Manie and Jaden for 3rd spot.
I mean, his long passes are average to below average and his contestable kicking has been poor this season. Maybe the smart thing to do is to use him for what he is good at and use Manie for what he is good at, in the way I might use a ball peen hammer for delicate work and a claw hammer for timber framing
