Awesome video. I'm super happy the winner was an affordable rope and not some 150$ rope!

Excellent video! I wish it had been posted back when I started jumping rope in March 2020. 😂 I completely agree with you about weighted ropes not being ideal for beginners. I'm in my 60s and I wouldn't have been able to manage my 1/2 lb Crossrope as a complete beginner - and it can be too much for me even now, too. My favorite beginner rope was the PunkRope, which is 5mm PVC. It was the rope that made me fall in love with jumping rope! ❤

Thank you! I'm glad to hear it was helpful. Yeah right around 5mm seems to be perfect.

best rope for a beginner is a plastic beaded rope, 1" beads, adjust it to your height + 3feet
don't jump more than 3 minute total time every other day if you are just starting
wear good cushioned shoes and if possible get a jump mat or even a yoga mat(if it doesn't have high ridges that catch the rope)

My old rope handle broke. Not sure what it was made of but was perfect. Im advanced and the new rope is rubber like material and i feel its slow. Can't find my rhythm. I may need the speed. Any thoughts?

Most ropes are adjustable when you buy them. Crossrope you select a rope based on your height.
When you step on the rope in the middle and pull the handles up, the bottom of the handles should be around your armpit-a little higher or lower based on personal preference.

beaded rope all day for beginners best feedback with not too much weight. PVC will be a lot harder to feel best bet is to aim for something at about 200g
and if you need to shorten beaded rope just cut it ... lol
