- Hey guys, i’m back with another video!! So, after a few weeks i’m back to finally rank all the characters. In an ideal world i would’ve loved to rewatch the whole season but i simply didn’t have time. So, in this video i “rapidly” (not really lol) ranked all the characters that appeared in Season 2 of Heartstopper… turns out i’ve found myself a new favourite character. Enjoy!!

Agreed. Harry is clearly on a redemption arc but Ben is beyond redemption imho
I dislike Charlie more than Ben to be honest ... the first thing my parents taught me about humanity is the ability to evolve and particularly forgive... Ben at least got to that point ... we are all just human and make mistakes and sometimes don't know better ... without it there is no point in redemption, apology nor even reason to try to do better ... we may as well carry on as we are ... I could not believe it when Charly slammed that door into Harry's face after the apology that took balls ... that particular action only spoke of Charlie as a person and nothing about Harry ... Charly literally became petty and vindictive and that was not a compliment ...we should know better and be better and not go down on that level ...and then he does same to Ben ... well now is my chance to be nasty and be a c... rather than grow... he disappointed me.... He said to Ben " I liked you but you did not ask me to kiss me" ... Rewatch the scene with Nick he did not either
@Berndr just gonna ignore the fact that B*n literally sexually assaulted Charlie? Not a thing to forgive easily. Also, Harry was the type of person who made Charlie s/h, hate himself, etc, and that half-hearted apology wasn't something they could forgive easily.
@@TheBc99 Neither of them is as bad as show makes them ... Ben is obviously paranoid and messed up and the fact that he acknowledged it makes the whole difference ... Charly turning all vindictive and petty at the first chance he got after their apologies makes him worse in my eyes ... rather to be a bigger person and accept apology and allows them to grow too, he grabs a chance to go down on their levels and show off ... if apology means nothing and we do not accept that people can evolve then what's the point of trying to do better at all we may as well carry on as we are... evolving is the most important quality of humanity and each day trying to do a little better than we did yesterday ... no one is perfect
One thing I adore about Tao's mom is that she knew Elle pre transition and yet she is so excited and supportive of her and Tao's relationship. She doesn't question Tao about it, she simply adores them. That in itself is extremely refreshing to see.

She's great, but we don't know that she knew Elle pre-transition. I think to Charlie, Tao and Isaac, she's always been Elle.

The way Tori had tears in her eyes when Charlie was saying he could make sure Nick doesn’t go through what he did. She doesn’t say much but when she does it’s always a serve ❤
Ben’s apology is so telling of why people go back to abusive relationships. They say these wonderful things and appear so sincere but it’s just to appease their victim. Also, the only reason he thought to apologize was because he saw Nick’s coming out post. He’s manipulative and I’m so happy Charlie saw Ben for who he is.
Yan Xu is such a blueprint for parenthood and I’m so glad her and Tao have each other, honestly the best examples of allyship we could have wished for ❤

I think Tara should be higher because of her friendship with Isaac, and how she supported him when he felt a lil left behind! That’s a good step up for me?!
I LOVED how she was always the one making sure Isaac was included and having fun.

i agree!! tara did have an evolution from season 1 to the 2nd. she felt stronger to show her love for darcy in public, she tried so hard to communicate with her, to find out about her problem, she supported isaac when he was feeling lonely in his friend group, she talked to charlie about her problem with darcy and listened to charlie's feelings, she supported elle with her thing with tao, i love her close friendship with nick...like all you can say about her are good things, she's beautiful and adorable and too underrated ;(
Everyone seems to forget/ignore that Ben is an actual abuser and assaulted Charlie literally at the start of the series. I think it’s telling that people would put him above Jane (a concerned, strict, but no where near abusive parent).

Tao's mother is gorgeous. She's an ally. She's advocate. She's a survivor. She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person. 😭

Nick and Charlie are my children so them being favs goes without being said, but this season Imogene and Tao really turned it out for me. The acting, character progression, and comedic timing were all perfection for those two.
This is a nice epilogue to The ‘Heartstopper’ Reactions. Such fun 👏🏽
As someone who has been an Imogen stan since day one, I’m very pleased to see her placement in this list and also that everyone else is coming round to her character

But I would’ve put Ben in it’s a no for me and Harry in Meh/ needs work, because Harry actually started to realize he’s gone to far in bullying after issac talked to him and then he defended Nick and Charlie at the Eiffel tower But Ben i just hate him so much I don’t think he can change or will change. But it’s your opinion and I support that❤

Not Tara being the only friend not at the top, RIP lol. I actually really liked Tara this season, her convo with Charlie in Paris and her friendship with Isaac specifically. And the way she was so supportive of Darcy even when Darcy was being kind of a mess towards her.
Honestly Ben and David are the worst characters, both could vanish tomorrow and I wouldn't feel a second of remorse. Harry is kind of growing on me, he's still a tool but he wasn't outright hateful this season so he'll get a pass from me.

Yeh i think its twlling bens left and harrys still in with having growth in S2, hes clsarly on a redemption arc and im here for it. Feel like Isaac must and knocked some sense into him.
Imogen’s character development was the best part imo! So happy you placed her where you did!

I don't agree with putting Ben in Meh, Needs Work. I might put Harry there before Ben. Harry stood up for Nick and Charlie at the Eiffel Tower, apologized to them and explicitly stated exactly what he was apologizing for (albeit with the goal of being let into the party), and took "no" for an answer when they wouldn't let him in. Ben, on the other hand, harassed Charlie online, stalked him to make his "apology", and didn't actually understand what it was that he had done to Charlie that was bad before Charlie spelled it out to him. When Charlie asked if Ben remembered the first time he kissed him, Ben smiled before Charlie pointed out that he had done so without asking for consent first and talked about how Ben's abuse impacted his mental health. He didn't actually understand what it was that he had done wrong, and therefore his apology holds very little weight. But maybe now that Charlie has spelled out for him what he did wrong and why it was harmful, maybe now Ben might have a chance at real redemption, away from Charlie.
honestly, I think Harry only did these things as he realized winds have changed. Nick is team captain and very popular, even the cinema boys turned on him, so Harry is trying to be on his good side. Which is the only reason he's standing up for them and Imogen as Nick's friend. I first thought wow, there's change too. But at Tara's birthday party he gave himself away. He didn't even accept the birthday girl's no, he requested Nick and Charlie to talk to. Thats a huge sign of disrespect. I'd not say he accepted the no, he got the door closed in front of him. Ben on the other hand seems to be on a path of understanding some very crucial things. He's not there yet, but he's actually going through it.

The scene with Mr. Farouk and Mr. Ajayi at the vending machines makes me sob and I cannot figure out why
Makes me that too, but for me its coz im literally female farouk, that is my experience and his little facial changes and expression spwak a thousands words, feel so seen in his character.
So glad we’re in agreement with Imogen. She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everyone would want. She is the best friend everyone deserves. I don’t know a better person.
This is a hard season to rank. Watching brad struggle on where to place people is understandable. I liked his reasoning on the placements.
No one knows what is really gonna happen with Imogen in general (especially with Sahar) because Imogen isnt in the books.

Brad's literally gone from 'who's this ho3' (i think) to 'WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT HER' and i live for that
I'm so on board with Imogen being at the top, she showed incredible growth and maturity in this season and she was one of the funniest characters too, she really surprised me with how much I adored her and I can't wait to see what they do with her in S3
15:55 Brad realising while he's talking what many critics don't seem te get: The focus on sex is not needed for something to be good. Good on you for realising. Although if they get that far in the series as the books now... Maybe we might get some sweet scenes that I hope shut people up. Who knows, maybe even better than the stuff I've seen from RWRB

I actually think we saw more hope for Harry than Ben. Ben seems irretrievably broken; Harry seems like he's on the road to being an ally. Harry showed growth, Ben really didn't.

Well done! I enjoyed your placements! I'm so happy you've come around on Imogen and Tao and Mr Farouk! My only personal big flip would be Harry and Ben. Harry was a bully, but he now understands and acknowledges what he did wrong, and is actively changing for the better. Whereas Ben was controlling and abusive, he still deflects blame and recentres valid criticism about assault to straw man arguments about his sexuality, that apology was pure manipulation. But, I know you're a Sebastian Croft stan so that was always going to happen 😂

I think that Harry should be in it needs work because he did stand up for Nick and Charlie and also said he learnt from the stuff he said and won’t say it again which I think is growth.

Liking both heartstopper and young royals, I would reaaaally recommend the norwegian show SKAM. It's a few years older than these shows, but really really good. season 3 is brilliant, but I really like the other ones as well.

I loveeee the aro/ace representation in s2 and I’m pretty sure Felix is non binary bcoz I’m pretty sure Naomi refers to them as “them” a lot “that’s felix, ignore THEM they’re just here for the parties.” Plus the cast is so diverse too I love them 😍

I would have put Imogen in the exact same place for reading Ben for filth at the Paris Dinner Table! One person I would have changed on the tier list is Charlie's mom to Needs Work just because at the end of the dinner party you could see her starting to come around after seeing what Nick was dealing with in his own family and I think it kind of lit a fire under her because she doesn't want to put Charlie thru what Nick is going thru with his dad and brother. She also planted the seed to have Nick and his mom over to their place in a couple of weeks which I think took her out of It's a No From Me.

For me, I would swap Tara with Mr Farook. Tara was amazing this season. I would move Charlie's mom moves up 2 rows to cute. She was just being a MOM and let's face it, Charlie was not doing his school work, and violated his grounding. After the dinner party, she says Nick is a nice boy and goes as far as to plan on inviting Sarah and Nick to their house. Now that is some growth. I think HARRY deserves to move up one rung. He did defend the boys on the Eiffel Tower and defended Imogen at the dinner table. The fact that he apologized at the door, and clamed to know better now at the door... I think he might actually be growing up. (I wonder what his back story is). The rest you have spot on....

Personally I would switch Ben and Harry bc Ben can go and luckily he is actually not coming back. That was a BS apology, he forced Charlie to listen, once again ignored his boundaries and was the delulu queen of the season overall. Harry and Isaac would both go up a category for me personally bc Isaac 1) really got him told and Harry actually heard him I feel like and tried to be better where he saw the opportunity to be better and 2) Isaac's entire character arc is building so beautifully and I can't wait to see more of him. Harry needs a shit ton of work and he's a horrible person don't get me wrong but I do see potential for growth bc I think his behavior is grown out of ignorance. Ben's is grown out of fear and fear of himself which means he has no respect for his own boundaries and unfortunately not for others either. I can't see him evolving past that before he enters adulthood and leaves his parents home. Like Charlie said: I really hope he becomes a better person and I hope he let's himself find love one day but I don't wanna see it.

I love Imogen. I remember seeing her in season one and was a little sad that such a pretty human was telling lies and hanging with the dickheads like Ben and Harry. But in season 2 she really turned around and became just an amazing friend to the group. And the little hints of something with Sahar made me so giddy. I think she is truly amazing and beautiful and I love that she is at the top of your list. She is for sure my favorite character and I can't wait to see more of her.

Tara is my favorite character because she is the best friend there is and is so consistent but not everyone can be in come on Nicholas so I understand your placement completely. She has had no development this season because she didn’t really need to yet, she was just the support of the group, so paris dinner table makes sense 🥰

I do agree that he did show growth but I feel like his “apology” kinda put the blame on outside sources and not himself.. also it seem like he was expecting Charlie to forgive him. All that growth for me was out the window 😭

People say Harry and Ben should switch places - I think they both belong in "needs work" because when it comes down to it, they are still kids. Stupid fuckin' kids, but there is so much room for improvement and growth. They'd have to work hard for it, but they COULD get better.
David was my most hated character this time around, because unlike those two, he IS a fucking adult, he is a goddamn grown-up, acting like that? Awh hell naw! The things he did are just unforgiveable!

I pretty much agree with ur tier list BUTT I think Ben isn’t even worthy of being gifted a place on the tier list. I do understand tho, when I heard that apology, I originally was like, woah maybe he isn’t so bad, but then I realised (after Charlie’s reaction) fuck that he is and will always will be, a dick 😘. I think Imogen has really improved and I would LOVE to see her and Sahar and Imogen’s whole “ I’m having a proper full on gay crisis” and identity realisation. AND IM SO FUCKING GLAD WERE RID OF THAT NASTY PIECE OF WORK CALLED BEN 🥳 I reckon they’ll use Sebastian as an extra bcoz he has been so involved in the show, or they will involve him someway.
