Compared to most listeners to TSFH, I am prehistoric, being aged 60. In my lifetime I have listened to and bought music from some of the 'Supergroups' of the 70's / 80's (Yes, Pink Floyd, Queen, etc etc) and listened to some very diverse music and genres. TSFH music makes me just as happy as those Supergroups - and perhaps more so. What I admire most, even though they get criticised a lot for it, is how they can blend styles / genres / cultures into one piece of music so successfully. They deserve so much more credit and recognition for what they produce and I hope that comes soon enough. For now, I just thank my lucky stars I didn't shuffle off this mortal coil before hearing some of their stuff. Rock on TSFH and may you go down in history for what you do.
I'm just a youngster approaching 51 but I too appreciate the wondrous sound of this music. Humanity has so many amazing vocal and musical sounds to explore and experience. One Million Voices is an excellent blend. I'd love to see this with several hundred dancers doing all the footwork and toe tapping stuff.
I am a young man of 25 with an old soul. I love jazz, opera, and much more, including newer music styles like metal and rock. I find that good music doesn't come from one single style/culture/genre, but rather is music that stirs the soul and makes the soul itself sing. I find that if the creator's heart is not in it, that the music is not great. emotions must be harnessed, thoughts turned to sound, and memories made music. remember, my young friend of 60 years, remember and celebrate. do not yearn for more time, but spend your time upon this mortal coil well, with true family (for not all family are blood, and not all blood are family) and god friends.
Asian, North American, Celtic, Eastern European, and more themes I can't even begin to identify, all wound together in a symphony of civilization. Absolutely amazing! This is what music should aspire to be.
Comments from my Eastern European friend: this song is an overlap of multiple traditional Bulgarian folk songs. Incredible music and cultural masterpiece.

Back in the day they had Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Strauss... In our day we Have Thomas Bergersen, John Powell, Hanz Zimmer, John Williams, and Howard Shore. We live in the second golden age of instrumental. No one will ever convince me otherwise.
Earlier this year I took a very long Lyft ride and blasted this song along the way. The driver could definitely hear the music. After the song ended he signaled to me and asked a lot of questions. I could tell he was impressed by the composition. He told me he was from the Middle East and sometimes had trouble fitting in. We ended up having a really deep conversation about life, love, humanity, and diversity. That ride will always stand out to me. Music really can bring people together.
@@orionsimoniantaylor2298 It's a cheap joke. Zoophobic=afraid of animals. If someone had said something like "Proud to be Straight!" They'd be called homophobic. It's a play on the wording used in the op's comment, but it's not terribly clever.
Allan with all due deference to you and the composer of Infinity War (aaarrghhh, I’m blanking in the composer’s name, it was Brian, no wait it was Mr. Alan Silvestri, I think, anyhow never mind), I haven’t heard anyone ever mentioning that about infinity war OST. Thomas is a brilliant composer, always; one of the very few who has the balls (first) and wits (later) to always redefine the meaning of the term “diversity” in music.
No but it's a meme on internet, it's not about the ost. There was an announcement for infinity wars mentionning that it was the most ambitious crossover, then lots of memes came out with that.
Many drastically different themes that really make me feel the "one million voices" and cultures. 1. Rainforest 2. Desert / Middle Eastern 3. Epic music 4. European classical music 5. Russian 6. Celtic / Gaelic / Irish 7. Chinese (especially CNY style music) 8. American western / country 9. I can't decide. Somehow they are so different yet go so well together, Thomas, work of genius as usual! Congrats on the 1 million subscribers, honoured to be part of it.
The Slavic back-vocals are actually Bulgarian, not Russian. The lyrics are: Леле, Яно, вси се разпопиха, оти си хубава, хубава гиздава /Oh, Yana, everyone got crazy [for you] because you are so beautiful [and] bonny/... It's from a song by Esil Duran. That song itself is a mixture of Bulgarian pop-folk, Turkish pop, and techno, which I find too extravagant, but TSFH made it sound epic.
What I really love about Two Steps From Hell and Thomas Bergersen's music is that it doesn't present just one image in your mind, but a series of varying scenes; but this, it's unlike anything I have ever heard before.
It's like an instant, a moment that's in our minds, clear as looking through a window. But for each of us, what we see is different, and what visions we tie it to differs. TSFH might make only dozens of soundtracks, but they inspire a million voices.
THIS! This is why i love music like this! It's sad that a lot of people don't experience this because they choose to not let that music, the emotions it stirs in oneself, to really enter the soul. They hear the music blindly
Does anyone else get this sudden rush of energy when listening to this sort of music and without even controlling it, like something else takes over and you just find yourself up on your feet, running across the house and dancing, completely subconsciously?
This is what musical masterminds like Mozart had in mind. They wanted to evoke certain emotions and tell a story with them during their orchestral pieces, just like the kind one feels here.
At the very beginning, it was him himself, standing in front of the gates, fighting the fears by himself. It was his bravery that drew people to join him. Tens, thousands. As more joined him, they fought and went closer to the eternal flames. And now here we are, one million men, in front of hell, just two steps away!
And never forget, music makes you braver, and that is why, with a million men, they spend their victories not drinking away, but singing many a song into the night, with the most skilled bards throughout the lands finding a place where their talents are accepted, who'd expect that they're calling laid just two steps from hell?
A new solo album? YES. I can't help feeling hyped with this piece. It's intense and epic. I love it. So many different cultural music in this. What can this man not do?

I can't describe how much I felt while listening to this masterpiece. It feels like... being on a small boat on the ocean in the middle of the wild storm, but there is no fear...just the overwhelming feeling of immortality, strenght and god like power. This soundtrack is pure perfection.
At first I was put off by the vocals, having never heard that style before, but by the end of the song I had absolutely fallen in love with them! This music is unique and beautiful and I can't wait for the album
Those vocals were what instantly caught me! :) But I have heard a lot of diffrent world music/ folk music from diffrent cultures already so these vocals weren't anything new for me.
It's been nine months of listening to this track and continuously being amazed at Thomas' musical skills. But I've now reached the point where I absolutely MUST have the rest of the album. Humanity's release cannot come fast enough.
StarPlaty agreed. I read a response that Thomas put to a comment on his Facebook page a couple of months ago that he was hoping if all went according to plan then it would be released this year. If that’s turned out not to be the case then with a bit of luck we’ll see it early next year - seeing as they’re going on tour in March/April then he might do a release to coincide with that. Fingers crossed that we’ll see it sooner rather than later either way!
My first time listening to this I was practically in tears. I never imagined anything could sound so powerful, so joyful, and so emotional all at once. There are no limits to what this man can create, and I'm so thankful to experience his music!

I remember discovering YSFH back when Heart of Courage was barely over 50k back in early 2012-2013 when they were known by the few, seeing them succeed gives me pride
Proud to be here since 2011 from that To Glory video uploaded by Epic Music World. As time passed I slowly moved to EDM and pop, but Two steps from hell still holds the place as "that legendary playlist" in my phone.
I got to know TSFH in 2016, still happy I did, but inreal life i only met 2 persons that knew it, the one that introduced me to it and a random classmate, so sad its still actually so little known
I found it my listening to epic music vn and looked them up from there back in 2014, then I spread it to my family. No one else I know listens to it though. Whenever I blast it on speakers around others they always ask me "what is that? That's so cool!"
I discovered TSFH accidentaly whilst looking where were music from "Dancing Line" made. Another level of luckines overall. Btw "the piano" was based on "Empire of Angels" if someone wanna know
These vocals are from the song "Lele Yano" by bulgarian pop-folk singer Esil Duran. I'm Bulgarian and I'm not much into her music but your work, Mr. Bergersen, is incredible! The feeling I get from listening it is so motivating! Somewhere at 2:45 I can hear Greek language too and after 4th minute there's a instrumental of Celtic music, I guess? Two Balkan's and one Western Europe's + the main epic/movie music. Awesome work of art!
There's a shift partway through the Celtic section that turns into American fiddle which is awesome because American bluegrass is descended from Scottish highland music. Then just after the 6 minute mark the fiddles give way to Middle Eastern instruments with the oud (a type of guitar-like instrument) and drums. Then the theme shifts closer to far east music near 7 minutes. Afterward they all combine together at once.
Every song TSFH have ever uploaded is just like an adventure someone has gone through. This song is just like they all came back, meet each other, and have a party.
That transition at 3:38 gets me every. Single. Time. I just get so thrilled. I love listening to this song at this time of year now. Reviewing what happened in the world and feeling a sense of unity through this music.
This piece has so many different worldly cultural styles all mashed into one seamless and epic track. Even though it has such a wide variety of styles, it all still sounds like one cohesive piece. Amazing, as always, TSFH.
So many pictures flood my mind listening to this masterpiece. From planets unexplored to children dancing this music. This whole thing is Life itself put to music. Excellent job! I will listen as I write my stories

I think I speak for all of us here in saying that Two Steps From Hell are one of, if not the greatest composers of our time. Their music has accompanied me for such a long time and in countless situations. It is probably hard to quantify how much joy their music has brought to us collectively, how many they inspired to do things they love, how many they helped through hardship and suffering. "Infinity war is the most ambitious crossover in history"
Thomas Bergersen: Hold my piano.

I am so proud that Bulgaria gets the recognition it deserves for the amazing vocals and some of the Bulgarian Folk music. Браво България
Many drastically different themes that really make me feel the "one million voices" and cultures.
1. Rainforest
2. Desert / Middle Eastern
3. Epic music
4. European classical music
5. Russian
6. Celtic / Gaelic / Irish
7. Chinese (especially CNY style music)
8. American western / country
9. I can't decide. Somehow they are so different yet go so well together, Thomas, work of genius as usual!
Congrats on the 1 million subscribers, honoured to be part of it.
Tbh some of the violin parts I can hear a little bit of Hungarian aswell
The Slavic back-vocals are actually Bulgarian, not Russian. The lyrics are: Леле, Яно, вси се разпопиха, оти си хубава, хубава гиздава /Oh, Yana, everyone got crazy [for you] because you are so beautiful [and] bonny/... It's from a song by Esil Duran. That song itself is a mixture of Bulgarian pop-folk, Turkish pop, and techno, which I find too extravagant, but TSFH made it sound epic.
AMAZING!!!!
Greek language and Instruments
Russian lol
When I listen to their music I can see stories unfold before my eyes. My imagination runs wild and there is no way I can stop it
@@shneancy220 that's exactly what I feel
Does anyone else get this sudden rush of energy when listening to this sort of music and without even controlling it, like something else takes over and you just find yourself up on your feet, running across the house and dancing, completely subconsciously?
I get it too!
This is what musical masterminds like Mozart had in mind. They wanted to evoke certain emotions and tell a story with them during their orchestral pieces, just like the kind one feels here.
I actually use this music to settle my anxiety attacks. It calms me down and helps me go to a different place.
I have that problem too and it's fine ;)
Music that makes you braver
At the very beginning, it was him himself, standing in front of the gates, fighting the fears by himself.
It was his bravery that drew people to join him. Tens, thousands. As more joined him, they fought and went closer to the eternal flames.
And now here we are, one million men, in front of hell, just two steps away!
And never forget, music makes you braver, and that is why, with a million men, they spend their victories not drinking away, but singing many a song into the night, with the most skilled bards throughout the lands finding a place where their talents are accepted, who'd expect that they're calling laid just two steps from hell?

Proud to be here since 2011 from that To Glory video uploaded by Epic Music World. As time passed I slowly moved to EDM and pop, but Two steps from hell still holds the place as "that legendary playlist" in my phone.

TSFH has been my favorite music since 2009! My mind was blown from the very first listen of Dragon Rider.
And what does the greek say ? bulgarian parts of the lyrics here : lyricstranslate.com/fr/thomas-j-bergersen-one-million-voices-lyrics.html
Amazing Bulgarian voices and language!
Hahaha im greek i can hear that hahaha

literal goosebumps every time i hear this play, even three years later. this song is an absolute masterpiece for the ages. it shows how music really is a universal language, with all the different aspects from different areas of the world joining in to create a cacophony of music that comes together so beautifully. if only human nature allowed us to co-exist as perfectly as this.
I can't stop listening it ! Help me... RELEASE one more :D
An ode to mankind, how wonderful.
This is a very powerful song, and I listen it every evening 🎧. A perfect mix within Celtic, Epic, Orchestral & Oriental 🎻🥁🪕!! I'm impatient for the release of the album!
I remember being deployed in iraq in 2010 when i first started listening to TSFH and TB the music helped me get through alot of the stuff going on then and now i hope you guys keep making masterpieces because thats what you guys do
Heard this over a year ago and it is definitely the best piece of music I have ever heard. The sheer scale and power never ceases to impress me, especially from how small it starts. It's just an escalation of sheer musical genius. I love this guy's other work, but this for me is just the absolute height of perfection.
It was as if millions of voices cried out in joy and at once shouted in euphoric glee, "Ave Terra Aeterna!"
Hail Earth forevermore.
Unfortunately most of the time they cry out of sorrow, hartred and sadness but the best is yet to come.Happiness is on its way.
Ave Terrae Aeterna Victrix.
Nika!!

IN 2:43 i have heard also GREEK languange for about 4 seconds !!! Thank you so much Thomas !!!
What did they say?
What did it say
Tell us
@@ahmadjaber7546 : «πάμε να τα πάρουμε Γιαννάκη μαζί μας. Αυτός είσαι» . It is something that does NOT make sense ... but certainly it was a big surprise to me , to hear Greek in a TSFH's piece !
It is bulgarian actually. Maybe it sounded almost the same as greek? That is probably why it didnt make sense
@@hitsigekever6363 Νo , it is Greek , Bulgarian are completely different languange , both at structure and hearing . Anyway , that Greek sentence at the piece is : " Go little John there to take them with us , "this is you " " !!
Felicidades. Han alcanzado una nueva meta. Ya somos 1 millon de personas las que sentimos la musica... sentimo SU musica, la fortuna les sonrrie y ustedes lo hacen devuelta.
Sigan asi Thomas, Nick. Que mi corazon esta con ustedes.
Four of the greatest things that have happened to me in my life (not in order of appearance): Hans Zimmer, discovering the music of Nightwish, the birth of my children and TSFH!
I am happy to live in a time where these great composers are pursuing their work.
We used to have Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart...
Nowadays we have Hans Zimmer, Toumas Holopainen, Thomas Bergersen...just to name a few.
The world is constantly changing but good music will always be good!
Stay healthy!
After listening to this track for the 100th time I can officially say that I will never get tired of this masterpiece.
yeah, no... Tired of this? That'd be a big, fat no! That task would be impossible to complete!
