Precision Cultivation with FarmWise Vulcan in Beets.

FarmWise's Vulcan smart weeding and cultivation implement demonstrated our new Precision Cultivation feature in late weeding stage table beets in Bakersfield, CA.
Precision Cultivation with Vulcan is a feature that takes advantage of Vulcan's computer vision-powered lateral shifting capabilities. Through a simple tap in the user interface, the implement toggles from precision intra-row weeding mode to precision cultivation. In Precision Cultivation mode, the Vulcan follows the plant lines and can weed as close as 1” on each side of the plant line leveraging our standard cultivation tooling.
In this mode, the Vulcan can be run at 3, 4, 5 mph with high weed removal accuracy. This new feature increases traditional Vulcan customers' usage in bunched programs (cilantro, parsley, baby kale, and bok choy). It also makes Vulcan relevant in higher-density plantings such as onions and carrots.
Current Vulcan owners are already using Precision Cultivation mode to perform weed removal in the pre-thinning cultivation stage in lettuces and in traditional leafy greens and brassicas when time is crunched and higher efficiency is needed.
