      Other than contributing to a 401k, how can a small business invest its profits in a non-taxable way? For example, if you have a consulting business (c-corp), can the profits be used to buy another property or business completely unrelated to the main business and write this off, or maybe branch off another company somehow?

    Retirees who struggle to make ends meet are often those who didn't accumulate enough wealth during their working years. The choices you make regarding your retirement investments can have a significant impact. My parents both spent the same number of years in the civil service, but my mom invested through a wealth manager while my dad stuck with his 401(k).

      This resonates with me. I’m in my mid-50s now, and my wife and I were following a similar path. Two years ago, I shifted my funds to her wealth manager’s guidance. While I’m not matching her returns yet, I’m definitely seeing higher gains than I would have with just the 401(k). My retirement fund is growing faster than ever-even before I officially retire!

      It’s unfortunate that many people lack access to this kind of information. It’s understandable why some panic when they don’t have the right guidance. Personally, I've earned over $287k passively by investing through an advisor, without the need for much involvement. Whether the economy is booming or volatile, a skilled wealth manager consistently delivers results.

    Dividend investing is my jam! I'm building wealth with a buy-and-hold strategy in my Roth account, featuring rockstars like Berkshire B stock, SCHD, and S&P 500 and total market ETFs. My taxable account is also getting in on the action, generating regular income through dividend-paying stocks. It's a winning combo that's helping me achieve my financial dreams!

      Your strategy is a perfect example of a solid plan! Combining dividend stocks with a buy-and-hold approach sets you up for success.it's clear you've done your research. They can offer valuable insights, help you mitigate risks, and optimize your strategy for even greater returns.

    The spouse has to be jobless or working a job in real estate so you can take a REP tax deduction. On the small business tax saving, you have to have losses to net out your profits - and how is that winning? You invest 100K in two places, one makes you 20K and the others gets you losses of 20K, you are not winning. Is making losses worth not having to pay taxes on gain?

    What’s the difference between Roth IRA and traditional IRA, can I have both?

    • @karimartin9441
      @karimartin9441 Месяц назад

      Roth, it’s like having a bank account that increases with interest. You don’t have to pay taxes on since the Roth is like a “savings” that you create with money that is already taxed. Traditional IRA is a “savings” account that collects your money before you pay taxes. Basically, you defer the taxes until you pull the money after you retire or at 59 1/2, if I’m correct!!

      Yes u can have both. Roth conversions from IRA not easy & IRS hates it.
      Roth - pay taxes when u open it & as stock/ fund grows it’s not taxed on growth. Many financial advisors are warning the young generation that Congress will find some way to tax Roths due to all $$ accumulated, incl inherited Roths. Regular IRA taxed when u retire, @ 59&1/2 or 5 yrs after u opened it. Taxed on whatever stock/ fund gain u sell. If loss, no tax.
      The key is what will be ur tax bracket when u withdraw from IRA? If lucky, you’ll be in high bracket & so u want methods to offset tax. Roth has no RMDs & no tax yet after initial taxation; Congress will likely change that in future.

If your business generates $100,000 then you cannot contribute $69,000 in to your 401K. You can contribute $23, 000 as personal income plus you need to pay mandatory social security contributions (%15.3) then reminder is the taxable income then you can contribute %25 of this left over to your 401K.

    The comments appear to be ads for CFRs. IRS puts limits on all tax deferred programs. Many cheap medium/ small cos don’t offer good 401k or decent benefits. U can only claim 1/4 of home office IF u have one. Travel, gas, dining etc ALL very limited & proportioned against INCOME; all deductions must be documented with receipts or IRS will dismiss it during audit. Not the 80s anymore when all business expenses were deductible.

    I say good bye to 35% of my income every month. I'd rather figure how to invest for retirement- which I don't have, or set aside something for my grandbabies. At 65 years old I'm trying to see what I can do at this late, late stage in the game.
