A great song with a heavy dose of power metal. Personally for me there is not a single bad song in Oceanborn album, all songs from this album are great. This is one of the best albums of the band with a unique sound that we will never hear again. By the way, Jukka recorded the drums for this album playing in the school locker room. I didn't expect such a gift from Petra, she likes Tarja's solo work better.

Why can't you just agree to have preferences, while agreeing that both (darn, all THREE) singers are truly great, just different? What is it about this "fan love"? It is NIGHTWISH, after all, and each one of the vocalists has their catalogue away from the band in question. Why not mention how great the song is, for a change - or, well, constructively critique it? I applaud those who do! The online arguments meanwhile are getting redundant, and I am sure they are not important neither to Tarja, nor Floor. Sorry, for the rant, EnterTheCronic! You have a great fresh channel going. Might be my favorite song from them. Really reminds me of what Cradle of Filth were doing a couple of years earlier. There are some live performances of this song from that time period, but obviously being from small venues in the 90s, the quality is pretty poor. She does hit an F#6 and even touches on a D7 (scream), which is insane.
There is this excellent album version which does give a bit different vibe and some sounds what we don´t hear in official music video but we also do have that excellent and again bit different live version to see and listen! How lucky we are!

lol. The majority of all people I ever read comments from about this song prefer Floor and Marco and the new arrangement. There is plenty of songs where the original is better, but this one is very much not one of those. Carpenter is another where the BA version is just a lot better....

It wasn't until the Decades reinterpretation that this really made an impression on me The genius was there but hidden behind mediocre implementation/interpretation, particularly Tapio. Floor and Marco redefined it to become top 4 for me

Although it's true that nowadays I much prefer Tarja's solo stuff, the albums from the old era of Nightwish are still among my favorites.. :)
Incredible that this was recorded 25 years ago. Tarja was almost 21 years old.
Oceanborn is a goldmine of masterpieces - the fundament to build NW on.

So much fun to enjoy the wonderful original then how they reworked it for the Decades tour. Maybe do this for all the pre-EFMB tunes on Decades ......
