It is probably one of the last piano pieces she composed and it is different in many ways from what I know from her music. It is still salon, but it manages to incorporate arabian influences in a convincing way, I think. I like the fact that she was open to these influences, rather than writing 140 waltzes or so. The writing is gentle, dynamically we move around mp to mf, sometimes reducing to ppp even. It needs a lot of control to really play "mp ma sonore" and not just play a forte. The right hand runs are a neat device; the interpretation needs some thinking, and I am certainly not an expert in arabian music. I think it doesn't need too much rubato actually (less is more), but nevertheless the music feels like somebody is singing a chant, and that should reflect in the general phrasings too. It needs some freedom at some places to feel natural. The sound is vsl's cfx plugin.

Utterly Cha(r)mi'ng as is most of her works. A big thank you for yet another.

she improvises often with a well-konwn melody then ends up with a beautiful well-structured song with drama and sensibility.

The overall phrase is nice in her works. It's not a juxtaposed mess but rather a logical development of motives

Only a few seconds in, but it reminds me a bit of Debussy Arabesque 2. Characteristically Chaminade, though. And well played as always. Thanks!

    It reminds me Glinka's "Lark"

the beginning is from Dvorak songs my mother taught me.

Interesting, I didn't know it's from Dvorak. It sounds like a popular song for sure

Catch me up - is this a synthetic recording or acoustic?

Indeed it is a synthetic recording. These have become pretty much indistinguishable to real recordings in certain cases. And thanks for your donation, too!

The sounds itself might be digital sounds, but I'm pretty sure that it is performed by a person. There is no computer program in the world that could interpret all the nuances of playing musically. Just check out some of the many other recordings posted on RUclips that are actually programmed on a digital device, a big difference.
