An excellent set of variations for wind orchestra amongst the plethora of variations on Paganini's 24th Caprice that exist. There were a few moments where some of these variations reminded me of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.

I agree completely. I didn’t think another 15 minutes set of variations on this theme, particularly something as tonal as this, could really have enough new to say. But this showed a superb understanding of instrumentation for a concert band set of instruments, and lots of variety in the score. Excellent!
