During online play, on defense if you find yourself running out of time to pick a play for whatever reason, just pause the game and then resume when you’re ready to and the defensive play clock starts back over at 15 seconds.
For any madden game pretty much ever. Run curl flats out of any formation. If corners are playing off the receivers run the curls. Watch the underneath coverage. If the defender bites on the flat route throw the curl. If he doubles the curl throw the flat or look to the other side of the field. If the corners play press coverage quick pass audible is almost always slants. Audible to slants and watch the entire line backing crew. If the drift left throw the right slant drift right the left is open. If they are in an even zone try to hit receiver in one of the holes in the zones or usually a rb or te runs a flat route. Great scheme if your running ball control. Great 3rd and less than 10 scheme. Great scheme to run between deep shots and run plays.
I thought I was good at madden but I surprisingly didn't know a good number of these things, thanks man. Btw is there any way to break tackles in the pocket like the qb avoidance stick in past maddens?

Great videa, I didn't know about the right stick for rushing the QB but I do know that you can motion a player by using the sticks but you have to use both I believe.. before I saw this I did it by holding the left stick in the direction you want to motion him and then flick the right stick in the same direction twice. Idk if that's the exact button combo but I know it works.. Either way using the D pad is much quicker lol..

I like to run slants bc a lot of players like to run Cover 2 in the red zone. I usually use the LB (L1) button and aim up to throw it high over the linebackers. This is really effective with a compressed set where the WR has a reduced split.
Levels sail from the 8-15 yard area, FB fake HB toss out of the I form wing from the 3 yard line and closer. Between those ur best bet is to come out in the strong pro and try to get as much as u can on the ground

Yo, Eric. I need to know how to beat the CPU cheats in solos. I'm an average player (I think.) I've been playing about7 months and practice every day. Can't figure out how to beat the last challenge in Movers, or the bonus super-powered Boss challenges. My team has a 98 OVR. Great cards. Solid playbooks (Titans, Seahawks, Vikings, Cowboys offenses; Packers, Seahawks, Cowboys defenses. I have other books...haven't used them much.) I like to run the ball and use short passing. The occassional deep ball. I feel like if I can't beat the CPU, I'm not ready for online play. Can you help? Is there a place where I can go for 1:1 coaching? Thanks. Love your videos. I enjoyed your base align video the other day. I really enjoyed it. If you could do more disguises for different coverages that would be great. I disguise a lot but i feel like some players that watch your vids don’t do it bc when i play weekend league i still see a lot of God Squad players in basic cover 3 looks or simple cover 4 looks which is easy to exploit. So basically my suggestion for another video is show different disguises for every coverage concept.

When your defending the run especially between the tackles press L1 or R1 to reach out and grab the Running back also when you are running you can press R1 to get skinny and get through the hole hope these help. If you cant tell i have gotten much better since we last talked. I gotta admit i gotta give you alot of the credit you put in the work and i rip the benifits.
I would love some pass rush help, I have no problem as a DT bull rusher, but as any archetype DE I can't dominate the same way even though it's the same buttons. I would like some tips for pass rush for DE and OLB is basically what I'm asking.
not really a tip but a way top help you describe it more clear - in baseball as an outfielder we called when a ball was hit over our head a 'banana route" to run and catch the ball. basically a curved run either to the right or left, reason i say this is when usering a LB and covering two routes you need to do a banana route to keep the stick fluid so you dont get the foot plant pause.

When you run a stretch or a toss to the right, why does the running back come to a complete stop when you hit the burst or speed button? I don't have that problem when running to the left
Another great video... I knew most of these, but wasn't aware of the kicking method to avoid blocks. There was one thing regarding motion that was incorrect though... You CAN use the Left Stick to send a man in motion, but you have to hold it in the direction you want him to move for about a second before he moves.
Is there any way to challenge a play, without going into the pause menu? Not saying I do this, but I thought there was some way to do it in madden 17 and I’m not sure if that’s a thing in 18
Are cloud flats generally more useful than purples? I've heard many people say purple zones are broken and don't work in this game, and I'm still trying to understand the specifics of some of these zones and what they best defend. Hard flats are pretty self explanatory but don't cloud flats essentially account for both zones?

Daniel Nivens I know with a quarterback, if you scramble and don't want too get hit, you should hold RT and LT and press X to slide with him. With a receiver, you might have something similar happen, but it's just a guess.

how to get ANY active player in the nfl {other than a kicker}:first,select the player{s} you want and go into edit player. then,change him or them to a kicker. then manually trade for the player and give the team that has the player one of your backup players.then change the player back to his original position once you trade for him. so you can basically get ANY good player you want without trading a single draft pick....pretty cool
I need more help with user interception. Like I user the MLB and cover the middle. Let’s say for example, the WR do a slant route, I hold triangle when the QB hike the ball and my player don’t react to the ball. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It only happen to me on H2H
Mortal it even tells you on one of the loading screens this year you get penalized for holding Y/triangle for to long which in your case your player does nothing lol you have to time it now

There are a limited number of pauses, though, and more experienced players will use them up at the start of the game to avoid pause tricks.
A good tip is the QB contain. Prior to the ball snap, hold the LT or L2 and hit the RB or R1. Helps with scrambling QBs and outside runs.
