    Respect to the umpire for not just getting mad at him, because it winds him up too and he ends up getting penalised for it. This guy knew exactly how to deal with him.

    as much as I want to hate Nick (and I should) I really cant, I just love the guy. He's petty, arrogant, moody, funny, talented, he brings something different to the sport of tennis.

      Yeah but there's a long way from "pro" to competing at Wimbledon. I think he wanted to moan about the call and ended up talking himself into a corner where to save face he had to pretend not to understand.

      Every player knows your feet can't cross the baseline, but I think he was explaining to Nick that the back foot can't cross the midline. I've played tennis for 40 years but also did not know that the back foot could not cross the midline. So I learned something new too.

      to be honest foot fault is a pretty obscure rule. Unless you're a beginner, nobody worries about foot-faulting

      It's pretty common actually for professional athletes across all sports to not know some obscure rules. Especially in sports where they constantly change. I know in theory you would think so, but in reality no.

      He's 25 now. Clock is ticking. I'd like to see it myself, but I think it gets pushed back another couple of years at best. Having to win seven best-of-five matches is just too much tennis for him to keep his concentration and focus for that long, and he's eventually going to run into someone with as much talent as him, but a far greater work ethic.

      @@grimsonThere’s still a slam in him. With a favourable draw and a bit of form., I think Wimbledon could open up for him with many of the top players now not really looking as good on grass as Nicks game is capable of. Lighter on the body too. This long break will have done him good mentally and physically and he could come back with a much better equilibrium.

      He has only won 4 lower level tournaments in 6 years and never a Masters 1000. For all his talent and hype, he has yet to prove himself at the elite level.
