I Always love A. Hassan & M Sheppard back then, i even used to copy M Sheppard muscle car, while G. Cullen always in my mind as "the dumb in Pick Up" no offense but his AI always work like he want to die immidiately

I was always fascinated by the fact the developers names were the AI racers, which wasn't an uncommon thing, most games had this. Just hits different with this game. I have made contact with some of the developers to help me with the mods I am creating for this game.
Think Paul Scully was the one that I replicated a lot - for literally no reason. Even named a RuneScape character I had after that guy. I also loved the fact that A. Hassan's orange vehicles were all using "Stock" upgrades, with the exception of his compact vehicle, which had some of the better modifications. Pretty sure S. Wilding and P. Trewin were my rivals.

about time a famous youtuber played this, I always felt like it never got the love it deserved, there's a little detail I loved about this game and it's that if you used boost over a fuel spill then it would ignite, the only down side is the game doesn't have split screen and I'm pretty sure it had online but those servers are likely shut down by now
The servers actually aren't shut down! If you look at youtube you can see people playing in lobbies online with 10-12 other people, and I'm trying to set up my emulator so I can play online too, and considering I've never played this game online in the 16 years I've owned it, I'm pretty excited to try it out

this game was so satisfying to play. not very glitchy, smooth handling, damage models were pretty cool for the time. And the SOUNDTRACK! I still jam to these songs while driving my car today.

Oh my gosh, this is my childhood!!! I remember watching my dad playing the game and I was completely blown away. I asked him if I could give a go and I had a blast!
Definitely one of those games where losing is much more enjoyable than winning back in the days
I absolutely love this game and still have it for my PS2 it was one of my favorite things to play after school when I was a kid and fun fact if you hit your nitrous while going over a oil slick you will actually light it on fire lol

it almost looks like a mix between burnout, flatout and need for speed and i love it
The handling model was pretty close to Black Box NFS games. Depending on set up, you could go more Midnight Club 3 or NFS U2 with your car.
I still play this game on a regular basis, I absolutely adore it, ever since my childhood to now.

This game is seriously cool for it's age, used to play it growing up. Banger soundtrack too.
Used to pass the controller off with my 2 cousins playing this game in bomb tag and last man standing. We also loved play Kamikaze on LA or Detroit. Trying to pass through those tunnels that were only 2 cars wide was Insane! 75% of the field gone in seconds.
Neil, you should totally check out Destruction Derby Arenas. Its an old ps2 game and it is basically wreckfest with power ups

If I remember right chicken fight is multiplayer only sadly. There is a cheat that lets you shoot chickens in other races, but it fires them in an arching trajectory that makes it just about impossible to aim.
Yes, it was multiplayer only. But Neil does multiplayer every now and then.

Oh... i kinda missed it entirely...
When this game was released my parents were rather poor and coudn't afford something other than some essential things, and from entertainment there were only an outdated TV and an unexpectedly good low-budget pc with a bunch of yar-har-harred (🏴☠️) games.
And the only time in my entire life when i played on ps2 was in 2010, when one of my friends was presented with a used one with a huge set of games, and by huge i mean the whole shelf of different ps2 titles. Among them there was crash n burn, which we were unable to play, because on the third day of use, the console literally crashed and burned. Well, at least i managed to play virtua fighter a couple of times.

I played it today. For the first time. I always knew about it, but hadn't ever owned it back then. I found it earlier in a stack of loose Xbox discs I had and decided to try it. A lot of fun I had! Since my Xbox is still hooked up to this day, I will probably keep playing this during the weekends or boring evenings.

The best way to win last man and bomb tag is to drift around the edges of the map and make them hit the wall or stay still and wait till they are close then boost away and have them hit the wall at full speed

I was able to 100% this ages ago, not sure if I will get a PS2 gain because my FAT PS2 lost it's audio and video unfortunately despite working... I would replay this any time.
If you want chaos to have fun, always go for head-on crashed in the Las Vegas X suicide races. I always have fun wrecking cars and watching cars go high up after a nasty crash!

If you like old games like this, try TOTALED! for the original Xbox - or rather, find a way to play it on your PC like you did with this game. That's what I ended up playing instead of Crash 'n' Burn because that's just the system I had when I was a kid.

Hey Neil I know you probably won’t see this comment but you need to go and watch Crash-Hards video on the Intersections mod for Beamng Drive there is a “Crashmaggedon” token on the map where you drive off the road and hit the ramp into the parked vehicles down below that absolutely obliterates every vehicle on the map.
