Very excited to get some power numbers for your builds. It gets very boring building "normal" work saws every day. Have to do some fun builds, even though those are the ones that make you pull your hair out. This will all be fun and valuable information for all of our viewers. I am learning how difficult making these videos can be... man lot more work than I ever expected.
I can’t wait to see the muffler mod shootout video.. I can’t imagine how much work it is doing those dyno vids like the 70cc class shootout vid you did a lil while ago. But I’m thankful for all (most) RUclipsrs for the time they take to keep us entertained.

So awesome. Gotta love filling up the shop with good Ole 2 stroke smoke. Great build on the 61 buddy. Love you work and your passion for these saws. Love ya brother. Thank you Ironhorse. 🌲❤🌲👊🪓
i built a 395 big bore. was my best 395 for a month. then the cylinder "lip" cracked on backside. might have been cracked in shipping. i will build another . when it idled it made a thumping that shamed my other four 395s. it sounded like my built 490cc tecumseh . i like to rejet my stuff real "fat "with small intake. that 490 turns axle shafts into pretzels . thanks for all the hard work and great videos. Be Blessed my Friend
I can see the passion when you fire a saw up. You love it. I love that you love it. You make me want to dive deeper and deeper into saws even though I only cut a fee cords of firewood a year.
Great video, my son and I both really enjoy running power saws,he runs a stock husqvarna 61 and my go to saw is a stock 359 with a pipe muffler of your design .
I had to giggle, when you said that the 2 big saws running side by side. Reminded you of your Drag Racing day. The giggle was it reminded me of my Drag racing days. Thanks for the old memories! Keep safe and well.
I love how humble you are Ironhorse! That speaks volumes about a man. If somethings gonna go wrong it'll be when the cameras on. Keep the videos coming so I can watch saws being run after a long hard day of running saws. Haha Can't get enough. It was 54 here in northeast pa today. Made falling timber even more enjoyable!
Atta boy Ironhorse, they all sound awesome buddy.. You look like a little boy with that grin, warms my heart to no end.. Say hi to Barb from the community.. All the best Harv, Slant'e
Just built a very rad, get this, McCaulic 610 pro. You really helped me out with it. I was able to get the exhaust opening at 100 degrees after TDC. That got me 25 degrees of blow down. The transfers got completely widened and smoothed out on the bottom, didn't touch the tops. It has a 55 thow squish and nothing I can do about that to increase compression.. So I installed a nitrous wet jet in the intake right where it gets too wide.. But, I did get the intake opening for a duration of 158 degrees total. It was 124 degrees, piston got a little round window notched out of it. Carb got a velocity stack. And, an exhaust with expansion camber was fabricated. It actually runs way strong! 8000 rpm in the cut with a .325 full house chain on 28" bar. I'll be spraying a 3hp nitrous fogger nozzle in the intake here in a week or so if all goes well. Thanks again for all the help Ironhorse! I would love to show you some pics of this saw!
Thanks for talking to us and sharing your wisdom and knowledge I don’t build saws. But I do build and work on my hobby 1/5 scale bajas and losi 5ts. Which have small scale two, strokes installed Some of the basics u have shared I utilised on strip downs and cleaning them up Cheers pops. Yr great
Thanks so much for all you do IRONHORSE! I have a 61/272 build on my channel this week, and now 5 more projects on my bench cause of you. I hope I can bring something to the table from a beginners perspective. Thanks again!
Just wanna say how much I appreciate your content and the priceless knowledge from a veteran builder and a true legend. From a younger engine builder of all sorts, I value and am greatful for all you give.

Iron horse you're the man I wish I had the knowledge and got to play with the cool toys that you get to play with. I'm all orange all the way my biggest is 390 smallest is a 545. Got a02 372 low hr 97 371 and that's run mainly for 24yrs now. And I still got granddad's old 61 rancher white top from 1984 and it still runs and cuts just nice never been monkeyed with ever.
The 395 with a 2100 crank im definitely definitely interested in that build please do it soon ever since i found out about it on a live feed with Kensie im very interested in this. An the 041 build will be very exciting. I love the 041 sthil!!
Hey Harv loving having you back at what you do best, I recently put new bearings and seals in a 61 but can’t get it to run now any advice would be great fully received
Love watching your videos Found you from Buckin Billy‘s Find you folks to be very educational I have been a Carpenter all my life just recently started cutting trees for personal firewood Just wanted to say thank you
Hey there my friend. Hope your weekend was great. Keep being great. Still would love to set time to come help you on the homestead for some of your knowledge. Love what your doing. 🦾❤️🔥☀️🌙
Heck yeah the 041 would be fantastic to see worked on. I have one (and a 045) that im too scared to tear into. Hard to find parts for the 045 up here in AK
Harvey i love the throw aways to !!! I have 3 poulons and a Remington that were the Remington has never had gas or oil in it and I have been using the green poulon the other 2 poulon have no fire 🔥
Hey sir, you have an awesome channel, thanks for sharing. I have a 041 farm boss that was my grandfather's I carried it all over the farm, if your serious about porting one, I would send it to you and you could keep your pair original. Stay safe and God bless
Harvey, working on my 357xp. This is my 2nd port job. My 365 turned out good. Well the intake timing got away from me on this 357. It’s at 160 degrees I’m a lil nervous. Not a lot of content on porting these, and no one seems to want to share there numbers other than you. I’ll let you know how it turns out. I may learn how to JB weld I guess.
Hey Harvey, if you need parts for them old 041farm boss's I have two complete ones I'd be happy to donate. Let me know and I'll ship them off to you to help the channel.. All the best and thank you sharing your knowledge..
I just got my 395 xp done first saw ever. To build ive got the 390xp and 372 xp but not been into them. I didnt go with the pop up but i did do the 58mm and no gasket. I dont know any numbers. First time doing any port work. I got to say i was scared to death and im not 100 persent confident but its running its pulling a 28 in red oak . its mean but maybe one day someone like you can go through it just to give me the assurance that its. Not gonna blow up next start.
Some rowdy saws you got there! I’ve got a p39 I’m slowly working on trying to decide the right direction. They had a huge carb on them yet governed. Not sure whether to try bypass it or search for and buy a new carb to work. I plan on putting the boyeson 2 stage reeds in, not sure where I should go with the exhaust, opens at 104 with no base gasket and transfers open 122. Not wanting anything crazy just a good firewood saw. Any feedback is much appreciated
Great video waiting to see how you do 2100 crank in a 395. I did one with 58 mm top and and used 395 ignition had to cut the crank down to make fly will work
I hope to see a pile more of your work Mr Iron horse and iron kitty ! I like Hendrix music myself but we need to do something about your purple haze sir … saw shop exhaust fan style … how can we help ?
SERIOUS QUESTION: Hey Ironhorse love your channel. Looking to build your Ironhorse pipe you showed for my 372 non xtorq. Wondering if it needs any changes to work properly on a saw with long blow down or will that design work good on any saw. Thanks
First thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. I have checked every machine shop in my area and no one will deck my cylinder for me. Do you think the shop that does the cylinders for you would be interested in doing one for me? Thanks
I love your videos. I bought a 66 new in 1994, it’s stock except added 1/2”conduit to muffler. I’m from Beardstown il. And cut around a truckload a week. I would like to do a little more to it to freshen it up how far should I go
Hey buddy, won't that Muffler melt that cover, seems like that Muffler is made for the 268,272 which has a higher roof clearance on the cylinder cover..ALOHA!🤔🤙🏾
Random question here, I'm compiling a list of piston numbers, pin diameters, compression heights, top of pin to top of piston heights and total piston heights... by chance, do you have some info that you would be willing to share? I'm asking those who I watch, once the info is gathered in detail I'll post a video with a rundown of potential piston swaps.
could you elaborate on swapping a 2100 crank into your 394? do we still use the 394 flywheel / oil drive gear? im currently rebuilding a 394 just had the cases through the block washer actually. trying to decide on a direction for the saw. its personal and just for fun. as always i enjoy your content, thank you! Dave
I wonder how much effect your crank prep has where you angle the crank to push the air. Ive been thinking about trying that on a stihl 362 that ive been playing with.
Hey Ironhorse, do you widen the exhaust port to match the muffler gasket (far side where the muffler bolts on, not the opening to the piston/cylinder). My new hiway bb 372 cylinder's exaust port is narrower than the gasket and opening in the muffler, and I am curious if i should enlarge that part and taper it in? I would obviously leave the window into the cylinder the same size to preserve timing and not hang a ring.
Hi Harvey. I just today was offered an 046 Magnum. It runs but missing handle. I think I wanna have it built. I used to run those years ago and I always thought they were good saws although I’m a husky guy at heart. Let me know what you think. Is it a good saw to port??

40:1 Lucas right? I don't cut much and I have 4 or 5 saws I got running that people threw away. All Poulans. Gas lines are horrible on them. I do have a 42/18 PRO that is a dog right out of the box. Must be emission thing. My "Wild Thing" which is a smaller saw will eat the 42/18 alive.

Man, when you started the first two saws, I had the stink face on like a tech inspector at the track.
Good job sawrus nice job
Only two saw channels I watch yours and Tinnmans !

Actually I do my own machining on a precision lathe!
@@theironhorse6600 would you be interested in a new out the box 373 xp non x-torq build?
I have a black top 61. Can I put a newer top on it that has the quick latch filter access?
The holes don’t line up on the top cover to the case, you can drill and tap the case to make it work but it does not bolt right on
Hey Harvey, If you got some parts around could you check to see if a Stihl 066 piston fit on a 2100 crank? (56mm). Love the videos thanks!
It does! Just have to use the 066 wrist pin bearing!
@@theironhorse6600 Awesome, I'll have to try it , thanks for the reply!

Yes! A piece of header wrap takes care of that! I should show that!

As mch as I love that muffler on the 61 build that may be a bit mch in a tree service type setting? Sounds awesome though
I wonder how much effect your crank prep has where you angle the crank to push the air. Ive been thinking about trying that on a stihl 362 that ive been playing with.
Hey IronHorse Looking to put a Husqvarna Jungle type muffler on a Poulan 4000 any idea what might fit that saw?

Really enjoy watching and learning about your builds. Are you still selling any power saws?
Those pipes are big i been lookn at 1 for my 395xp whats ur opinion on em?
Hi Harvey. I just today was offered an 046 Magnum. It runs but missing handle. I think I wanna have it built. I used to run those years ago and I always thought they were good saws although I’m a husky guy at heart. Let me know what you think. Is it a good saw to port??

looked like you was cheech and chongin with all the 2 smoke haha, hope yer doing good buddy
Would you be interested in an 032 or 056 stihl
i love this guy
it is bizarre how different the 394 and 395 sound. the 395 sounds good but the 394 sounds awesome!
Really need your help. Was looking for a 372 and a friends bro offered me a rebuilt 375 for $425. Opinion?
Not trying to hijack but have not found opinion on heat and cold bering and crankshaft assembly. What's your take? Forgive me if you have addressed this issue. Also how do I find you email? Thank you.
I’ll cover this in next video! Email. Ironhorsechainsaw@gmail.com
What happened to the snowmobile built u talked about a while ago?
I would love to run one of your saws Smokey. Where do you get OEM intake gaskets for the 272? Is that a dealer only or off the internet?
Dyno Joe checking my 445 poulan pro that my buddy Charles Brisco did for me.
I am building a 372 with a 50mm titanikel cylinder :) I hope it will be a runner :)
