Hey Raliegh, Happy holidays my friend. Only a small business with 1 fish tank, but still big fun!!! Give my best wishes to your family and you and I will chat all through 2023. Happy New Year :)
Live plants change a box of water into a habitat that looks better and functions better for the animals inside. This aquarium is 30 gals plus another 4 gals of filtration underneath :)
Dear Colin Barsby: Your tank looks amazing and I’m very pleased to see that you are having great success with Enlder’s livebearers (Poecilia wingei). Please allow me to make one suggestion, as a huge fan of yours. This is only my opinion. Your tank is super-terrific, as it is. I would suggest removing the Tara cotta, half-planter and adding more, matching hardscape. If you can obtain the same type of rock, already in this tank, the addition of larger pieces would, in my opinion, improve the look of this scape. I’ve had many, fancy guppies (Poecilia reticulata), but never Poecilia wingei. Pet store managers tell me that customers won’t buy them, saying they are merely common guppies. I’d like to keep them, as I’ve heard they do well in subtropical tanks, though I doubt they would be happy with 62°F, which is the low temperature, which I allow, for my house, in winter. Thank you for sharing an update of your, beautiful set-up and a look at this, fantastic pet store. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Hey E.J. What grabbed my eye with the Black bar Endlers was the flouro green and bright orange patterns, they are beautiful. The terracotta pot is not there as decoration, but I also don't have a pair of cichlids right now to use it (so I can take it out until then) Keep trying to find some Endlers, you'll love them :)
My favorite tetras are the runny nosed tetras and Cardinal (or neon) tetras. Can you add those? They’d look great against your green background . I love that red-tailed shark! ❤. Does that Cory you got get very big? I’d be scared to get a pleco after reading how huge they can get.
those tetras would all look fantastic. Corys get big enough to stop being swallowed by most normal community fish, plus they have armor coating scales and sharp spines on their fins. The Big plecos would destroy any planted tank pretty quick.
the good thing about Corydoras is that they are armored catfish with sharp spines in their fins, so not a good meal to try swallowing, it would take a giant pleco to even try :)
I’ve never been to a pet domain I don’t think there’s one close to me, but that’s a decent selection and quite healthy looking fish for a chain store. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and your present 😃
They have 30 stores around Australia and an online store for home deliveries. I'd never been inside one myself until a month ago. Christmas was nice and peaceful in our house; I hope yours was good too Ben and the New Year brings all good things :)
@@AussieAquatic thanks mate yes had a good Christmas and actually got some sunset Platys and some ludwigia super red very happy with that. @@AussieAquatic they are getting along very well in my tank added bonus I have some stubborn green hair algae I’ve been trying to get rid of they’ve been picking at it. And yes I believe they do have a small dry goods section, although it may have expanded which is why I shall investigate 😁

Great update Colin.
Love that wall...
The Loaches would feast on the eggs.
So many to choose from ..
The crested Java fern seems unstoppable grown this way, I'm sure your barbs would spawn every day in it too 😁👍
@@AussieAquatic hmmm... I am going to have to try that method in doing a wall.... Java fern is so expensive here

Hope your Xmas was Awesome and the New Year even Better :)
Albino cherry barbs would get my vote Colin. They really stand out amongst all of that greenery.
They sure would 😁👍
Happy new year! love your tank and emperor tetras. It's amazing to know that all your emperor tetras were naturally spawned and grew in your tank!

I love the natural look of your aquarium sir. Full of life. BTW ,How many gallons is your tank sir?

I already saw your comment on another video about getting those Corys, so It's highly like you'd get them.
the more exotic Corydoras are usually way too expensive for me, but these Julii are priced really, really well :)
