Castillo De Los Templarios - Ponferrada- Camino de Santiago

When you arrive in Ponferrada, (about 200 km, 124 miles from Santiago de Compostela) you will be greeted by the Castillo De Los Templarios.
The castle is from the 12th century and is one of the few Knights Templar castles that remain.
The Templar castle is located in what was probably originally a Celtic fort, in a position similar to others in El Bierzo. Subsequently, it is believed to have been a Roman and Visigothic site.
I will share some photos from my visit to the castle during my hike in 2017.
