Watched this masterpiece over the weekend. It makes me so upset to think it’s not that well-known. What a unique storyline backed by great acting. From the little island of Jeju to Las Vegas to Africa, an epic story of love, pain and betrayal.
@@MySweetSeoul Can’t agree more. I fell in love with it so much so that I want the original DVD and I’d also dearly love to read the original book. I absolutely adored the minimalistic approach of the direction in terms of “showing not telling”, conveying earth-shaking emotional upheavals in a few glances and gesture, esp the last scene between Jung woo and the Chairman (just one word uttered by Jung woo but it was literally an essay, everything that can be said at that time and the moment). And yet, I want to read the book because I want to know more of the inner world of the beautiful characters. Sorry for rambling but can’t help it. 😊
@@KamalikaMukherjee81 This was actually a huge success in Korea when it premiered. The show came after a similar themed show called... "All In" which was a huge hit by the same director or writer... It is based on a Korean man who moved to Las Vegas and was a security guard, but ends up being a real professional gambler. Its one of my favorite shows!
@@tigerjonn I have watched ‘All In’ too but STS is closer to my heart. It’s good to know they were both successful. Such lovely projects, both if them!

@@tigerjonn 😊 yes, I am. More specifically, a hardcore Ji Sung fan (watched pretty much everything he had starred in). I have watched ‘The Iron King’ too. I could never picture my favourite character Jackson as the evil warlord. 😁 That was one fun watch, except for I cried in buckets for Princess Ah Hyo. Currently watching Memories from Alhambra. PS: I’ve even started writing a script experimentally 😛
